I had this album myself when I was little(I was born the year Sesame Street premiered); the storybook was lost a long time ago but I kept the record until I was even past the age range for Sesame Street(probably until it wore out, or was scratched.) Bringing back LOTS of fond memories, from the OLD SCHOOL SS era!!! Thanks for posting!!(both sides 1 and 2!!!)
I'll sure miss Bob McGrath so much if something happens to him! I already miss Carol Spinney so bad ever since he passed. Especially Jim Henson who started all this.
Enough time has passed since Sesame Street's heyday that most of the original actors, composers, etc, have either died or retired. Joe Raposo, Jim Henson, Jeff Moss, Jerry Nelson & Carroll Spinney have all passed away, & Frank Oz has retired.
For some reason, when I was little every time I’d hear the “Up and Down” song with Herry and Cookie Monster, every time Herry would sing “I look down and see the rug..” I used to think the rug in question was the bell at the top of the test your strength sideshow at the fair, or carnival(the “bell cord”), as was my personal silly definition for that. Ha ha. I suppose it was the SS segment “Cookie Monster at the carnival” that had gotten me hooked on the test your strength sideshow.
Bob McGrath singing that song about faces. . . I've never forgotten that voice!
I used to listen to this in preschool when I was five
Serious memories. My mom bought this album for me like 50 years ago 😂
DITTO!!! Thanks again mom, I live you!

I was going to marry Bob (when I was 5). Loved this album, thanks for putting in on youtube.
Beautiful how i like side A and B side vinyl records that were made back in 1940's throughout the day of history.
Thank you!
