    fantastic! It is great for beginners to advanced musicians. The bar/chord changes are very clear to understand. Thanks very much!

    I really like this track- it's great for practicing arpeggio's and trying to play more intentional improvisational lines. Thank you!

    are there any other scales or modes that can go over these chords? other than Dorian? maybe some melodic minor mode?

      You can try to play some A7 Altered lines, as a dominant resolving to Dm7.
      You can even put other dominants, and use their scales. Like C7 alt resolving to Fmaj7, or G7 alt resolving to Cmaj7, E7 alt resolving to Amin7... It may all work for this kind of modal D minor chord.
      I know this from Peter Farrell, killer player and teacher, check him out! :)

    Is it in d dorian? And could we simply improvise using d dorian?

    • @jazzguitarlicks
      @jazzguitarlicks Před 4 lety +3

      You can use D Dorian over Dm7 and Eb Dorian over Ebm7 and also Dorian bebop scales www.jazz-guitar-licks.com/pages/guitar-scales-modes/bebop-scales/dorian-bebop-scale-guitar-fretboard-diagrams-and-formula.html#second

      Can Sacan It is D Dorian and Eb Dorian but keeping it that simple is boring and not really in the spirit of hard bop and modal jazz. Some blue notes like the #4 are recommended

    It's so easy to play with this track, because the form is so clear, but when I played it with guys in a club once, they gave no clear delineation of the form, and it became a total train wreck. Whose fault is it, mine or the rhythm section?
