First, thank you very much the 10K subscibers, you're the best!
I would like to pause this series now, as I think we have looked at enough subway projects. Maybe we will bring it up again in 1-2 years, by then maybe new projects will be collected.
Until then, you can check out the rest of the series (although it has roughly the same projects as this part, but with a little more information).

Los Angeles should have been on this list. It's expanding both its subway and light rail lines. It's also getting an automated people mover at LAX airport that will connect to the LA Metro network.
The B subway line will expand about 10 miles opening up in three sections starting next year with 3 new stations. 2 more in 2026, and another 2 in 2027.
A new subway line is being proposed to connect the San Fernando Valley with West LA and eventually down to the LAX airport as well.
Two new light rail lines (not trams) have already been approved. Both scheduled to be operational in 10 years.
Three existing lines are getting extended. The longest light rail line in the world will get 4 new stations in 2025 making the line even longer for a total of about 59 miles (95 km). Again, the LA Metro doesn't have tram lines. They are light rail lines with a dedicated ROW and are vastly grade separated with at-grade, subterranean, and aerial stations. These trains have a top speed of 55 mph (88 kph).
There is also a proposed gondola system that will connect Union Station to Dodgers Stadium which is up on a hill and surrounded by freeways.
Lastly, Union Station will get a huge expansion and renovation in preparation for the arrival of the High Speed Rail train in the next couple of decades. This expansion will increase the station capacity by 60% improving the frequencies and capacity of the regional, commuter, and passenger heavy rail train lines of Metrolink and Amtrak.

In Paris that's not only the 4 new metro lines and the extensions of lines 11 and 14. That's also the construction of plenty new tramway lines, extensions of tramway lines, extensions of other metro lines, of RER E line. Retrofitting the entire network top to bottom (1000 unique stations, 40 lines), remodeling the neighbourhood along those lines.

Athens metro system again overlooked despite currently building its 4th line, which is gonna be fully automated. It’s first line , although ground level, opened 1869 and was electrified and expanded underground to the center 1904. 3 metro lines go through the center of the oldest continuously inhabited capital in Europe and one of the oldest in world and some of its stations are small underground museums with exhibits from the metro excavations. The 4th line will add 36km and 34 new stations in 5 phases and there’s expansions undergoing on line 2 and planned branch of line 1

@@mrxman581 It just so happens that Los Angeles is the exception that proves the rule.
If the subway extension is the Purple Line then it isn't the B train, it's the D train.
Your light railways have street running sections too, even if they're in the median (Crenshaw) or on the side of the roadway (Exposition). And they have true street running in East L.A. with only a curb to keep cars away from the tracks. So they're glorified trams.

Same for toulouse! Its gonna be 56km long!(line a,b,c combined) the line A and B have already been completed
However for the trains i think riyadh wanted to copy the same train as the Toulouse line C trains. Here is the proof.
Toulouse Line C futur trains(alstom metropolis) mesurate 36 meters and can be extended to 48 meters by adding a extra wagon between the two trains however 9 cars can be added it have air conditioners the accesibility to move through the wagons disappearance of folding seats to avoid crowds, wider doors. The width of the train is 2,70 meters.
Its the same for the riyadh future metro trains but we don't know if the folding seats are still here.

Bucharest is also building 2 new metro lines: M4 (14 new stations, 12 Km) and M6 to Henry Coanda Airport (12 new stations) the cost will be around 4 billion euro (EU funds + a loan from the Japanese government for the M6 line.) The physical work already started for M6, preconized to open in 2026, while for M4 it will start in 2026. The M4 line will connect also with the new airport that will be built in the south of Bucharest in 2028. There is also already plans for another new metro line (M7) 15 new stations, 13 km, + multiple extensions of older lines.

Seven of the top 10 subway systems in operation are in China, and the operating subway lengths in Shanghai and Beijing will both exceed 1,000 kilometers before 2030. I don’t know which city’s subway system will be longer than Shanghai and Beijing in 30 years. By then, the subway systems in Chinese cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Chengdu will all exceed 800 kilometers (the length of the subway systems in these cities now exceeds 550 kilometers).

(27 km Line 2 plus near 8 km of Line 4 first trench both being build currently) that will be operated by 42 6 cars automatic trains. Will be build 37 big size stations plus 2 factories.
As a plus information Line 3 and what remains of Line 4 have preliminary budgets of about 10 billions for both and expected to set contracts next year and 2026. Both of course in automatic work. The first 4 lines in Lima will sum about 134 km.
