Directional sound exist in every game that has competent audio. Tempest engine just give u more accuracy with a lot more sound sources so u know more accurately where sounds are comming from in a 3d space.
Ikr, that's why we don't need this option or pulse 3D to get that!

One thing I found out the hard way:
You have to turn on 3D audio in the system audio menu if you start playing PS5 games to experience the full 3D Tempest audio..
BUT!!!!
DON'T forget to turn it off if you play PS4 games on your PS5 or PS5 games that don't support Tempest..
Otherwise your audio sounds incredibly muffled and bad because when Tempest isn't supported its missing a few audiofeeds which causes the bad sound.
Hi, that's true, even some games that say they support it natively, they may not be as good, that's why I only suggest testing before using it
Fantastic video! I would highly recommend you post this as a pulse headset review, because this is exactly what I was looking for when deciding if I should buy it or not. But I didn’t find this until I searched tempest 3d audio instead of pulse headset, and many people wouldn’t do that.

Is this now better to use for story games over one of your last videos where you recommended your final flat settings. I liked the idea of final flat because you said story games, music and movies. I’m not an audiophile and have trouble deciphering sounds. I was searching for a GTA PS5 sound settings video for story mode and online. Thanks for the great content!

On the other hand i found an alternative which i really like to try out: QPAD QH-900. It has 53mm Drivers, USB C charging and BT 5.0 besides the 2.4GhZ dongle. As i'm still owning an older QPAD wired Headset, which was a budget friendly flagship killer back in the days. This swedish brand is back with a very promising headset. Unfortunately there are very few reviews for the device.

Hi, I'd recommend the Sony Hisense, for PS5 and PC, they are great, and more comfortable than pulse 3D, those gave me headache, well from my personal exp.

@@thebesttheworst2277 Well, As higher as you go in dynamic range, as more will be the difference between quiet sounds like foot and loud sounds like gun shots, if you can turn volume up, I recommend Maximum dynamic range for realistic compression, if not, Midnight is a great choice to hear every sound without going to high volume. if your TV speakers aren't strong choose midnight or narrow.

Hi… does the 3D audio work via Bluetooth dongle connection? I plan on connecting my AirPods Max to the ps5 but I’m unsure the tempest 3D audio will work over Bluetooth. If not, I could use it wired via the controller, but again I’m not sure the tempest 3d audio is supported on the controllers. If the AirPods Max way doesn’t work, what’s a good headset for competitive gaming (e.g CoD, R6 siege). Mic quality isn’t my priority, just the best possible audio quality.
Hi, it works with Controller and USB stick from Sony's pulse 3D (As far as I tested also with in zone headphones)
since I haven't had any USB Bluetooth dongle, can't be sure if it works, but it's something that happens in PS5 not the headset, so it's fine to connect any headset to the Controller and use it.
For the headset, I would recommend Inzone H7 or H9 if you want ANC, Pulse 3D is also good but doesn't last long (Earpads are too bad)
I would recommend Steel series 7P as well.

Yes, it's ok for all headset, PS5 does the 3D not the headset.
If u turn off 3d audio, do u still have the normal surround sound? Or do u lose everything, making it sorta mono?
Edit: the game I’m playing is gta, but there’s no surround sound setting for it
Hi, without 3D audio it's still stereo, directional sound doesn't need 3D option to work, for example in TLOU 2 or Uncharted 4 even with 3D audio off, you get directional sound, so if the game has it, you actually don't need 3D audio for that.
For GTA, I recommend keeping 3D audio off, + a new update is coming to PS5 with so many feature like new 3D audio settings, 1440p support, etc., which I will cover that as soon as it publishes.
@@DanielZH thx for clearing it up! And I believe gta for ps5 actually supports the tempest system anyway. But ye I was tired of the muffled audio, thinking I needed that for surround sound.
@@fazeapplestic9420 Supporting tempest doesn't mean they sound good, hence, It's better you test it, and in my test, it was unpleasant to hear.

Hi, they are good for 3D audio as well, because they only make the headset frequencies more accurate.

@@pietrosmusi7154 Because of PS5 EQ limitations, we can't get the best one actually, Rtings has -2dB lack of Low Bass, Mine has +1dB more Bass than needed. so Final Flat is closer to flat, and Rtings has a better treble and less bass overall, I personally use Final Flat.
In my experience, it looks like the PS5 will transform any 5.1-Game-Audio (including PS4 Games) into 3D-Audio if you using Headphones and enable Tempest 3D.
So no longer Sounds will come only out on one Speaker Side, but natural from both.
Also I can clearly hear Sounds from any direction including Back!
For natively supported Games (with 3D Audio) it's just much more accurate, plus you should even hear the distance plus Under/Above you.
So I really wonder about this topic.
P.S.
While Stereo Audio in Headphones sounds very Wrong, if a Sound comes from Left, then only the Left speaker is outputting, but in reality both Ears would hear the Sound, just with a delay, Phase disruption and different Volume. - 3D-Audio is doing so, in any Game, in my experience anyway!
Yeah, that's kinda how it works, however, not sure about older games as due to frequency changes, if the developer doesn't change the pitch of sound and adjust stuff, it would sound different and maybe bad (about un native games.)

Hi, yes, it doesn't have a great 3D Audio output for headphones at least for my hearing too, it's your decision on what to choose, I played on stereo on Miles Morales, but Spider-Man 2 sounds great.

Please help me. I use the inzone h7 and I have an issue while using 3d audio on my PS5, it sounds like a robot sometimes, you know, like it's dragging... This only happens when the 3d audio option is activated, if I turn it off I don't have that issue. I've searched for help online and can't find nothing 😢
Hi, in which games did you notice that? I've got the same issue with Pulse 3D in some games, and it came to lower bitrate audio in wireless mode, did you test it by connecting to the controller? yet it's not high quality that way either.
@@DanielZH thank you so much for the answer man! Actually it happens on every PS5 3d audio compatible game after a while of playing it. It happens on ffxvi recently, ratchet and clank, even dead space remake! But it doesn't happen with cod or with 3d audio off. Also I've noticed it sounds much better with 3d audio off in general, doesn't matter the game. I used to have the pulse 3d and never got that issue, but I upgraded and stating noticing it 😢
@@INKf3KT Oh that's weird; one of the reasons why I didn't recommend the Inzone series as I tested H3 and I knew they are not fully functional with PS5, try with AUX and see if it fixes, otherwise play on Stereo if that sounds better.
