PURE TALENT - LEGEND - Hudba
Imagine what Dave is feeling when Kurt starts to sing
😢
Bro…
He said that he feels sad when he here’s him he also said he would never sing any of Kurt’s song’s because it dont feel right singing his songs
😢
Eso si pobrecito
Even after 30 years dave still knows it all
Very impressive. David was such a great drummer
not really that hard, or what?
I think once you played it about 10.000 times, it sticks forever 😄
Well, he created it
he wrote the damn thing :D
i love how you can see the euphoria of playing nirvana again just after he starts drumming, then he lets his hair fall and just really gets into it
Totally
Yes!
He is returning to past
let's his hair fall, really
P😊
He's still vibing with the excitement of Nirvana. The greatest drummer for real.
hi
I love watching Dave completely relive his youth in this video. His eyes behind his hair, just absolutely demolishing the drums. I love watching this video and I love Nirvana and Foo Fighters. Rock on Dave.
This comment ❤
I do, too. Watching Dave crush those drums sure brings back memories. He hasn't lost a beat. 🙂👍
His the goat always will be ❤
No one can play it like him, distinctly behind the beat. A great masterpiece of simple yet powerful drumming.
💯 agree. Other just play the drums, he plays it with emotion and power
It’s pretty interesting. Not a particularly complicated drum part but there’s just something uniquely original/Nirvana about the way Dave plays it. Instantly recognizable.
@@PrecursorLegendmaybe 'cause he's self- taught
@@raimundo7469 maybe cause it's his song/drum-part
Very true.
It's so refreshing to see that hes still got the Nirvana spirit in him after all this time.
Some might say the teen spirit…
I would love to have seen how NIRVANA would've evolved had Kurt lived...
Something like that never dies
@trentcunningham5627 sadly I don't know if they would've survived the 90s 😢
it never left i believe
the way he beats the shit out of that snare is everything
I never realized how powerful Dave is as a drummer until seeing this. The man is a machine
He blew them away the first time they heard him. He's a monster.
He's the fucking Nirvana's drummer...what did you expect ?? 😍
@@sofiagomes3844 Hard to tell from a studio recording with mixing, microphones, live/dead rooms, compression, effects etc.
He is epic. and he does some other band stuff too.
@@Scoots1994 Truth. Not every band needs to be heard live, but Grohl is one of those performers who just have to be seen live. I've yet to have the chance, but I'll be here when the Foos comes around.
The fact is, this was an era defining song. This song brought grunge and the Seattle scene to the nation. This song is historic.
That feeling in the middle of it,
Dave reached into a early-Dave Nirvana soul and started bashing as he used to do it. He was living his days in this fucking awesome drumming and right at the end, his realization to live in present was surreal.
Goose bumps thinking about Kurt's spirit that must still be around. Incredible tribute from Dave, he nailed it. It has to be very emotional for him.
30 years older; the same energy. Amazing
Never realized how fire that beat was😮
Someone once said in the comments somewhere in this video before that “this isn’t Dave growl from foo fighters playing this tribute it was a dear friend of Kurt’s.”
"This isn't Dave Grohl, front man of Foo Fighters. This is Dave Grohl, drummer of Nirvanna and dear friends of Kurt Cobain"
NIRVANA was even better than Nirvanna
our little group, it's always been...and always will until the end 😔
I love it so much! The first time I cried. I was never able to enjoy Nirvana again- until I saw this. It ripped a 30 year old band aid- and I recovered the ability to just enjoy the epic uncharted universe that was birthed from this band and Seattle in the late 80- early 90s.
Hands down the greatest drummer and has been for a long time
It's amazing that Foo Fighters had two of the best drummers in the world. RIP Taylor Hawkins💞
He’s good but he’s definitely no Portnoy nor was he ever on a level with Peart…who is considered one of the Top 2 of All Time.
He’s simply a really good drummer.
@@GNXXRAYi think the fact kids to this day listen to nirvana and not the top 2 of all time should give you more perspective.
John bohnam!
@@vaguelymindedbsthat’s just cuz they grew up in a different time people between early late 90s and early 2000s prolly at some point of rush which for that generation was like 30 years ago but kids now are listening to nirvana which is thirty years ago from their generation so it don’t matter who’s the popular band now cuz Neil peart left a legacy with rush
You can see how happy he is while playing, like he’s reliving the past.
Dave went through alot of emotions. Reluctance to play it, 12 seconds in he’s in the zone smiling, then sadness when it was over.
Looks like he was wishing it would never end.
As soon as that guitar hit his face lit up, you could definitely see in the beginning his sadness
❤️🙏
A lot
Genius on drums
Thanks God for Dave Grohl. I so miss his drumming.
For me personally Dave Grohl is still the best drummer maybe not technically the best but he always drummed with so much feel to it, just put his heart and soul into it and it just shows and gives me shivers.
if you really like Dave grohl you should check out his book. He goes in depth about drumming and maybe even kurt
Ringo baby
I am the same, i was a teenager when nirvana smashed into the world like an asteroid. Dave Grohls drumming is seared into my brain like a rosetta stone, anytime i hear him behind the drums i get extremely pumped up
@@Kaiser333333 I fully understand what you are saying, that is why we got to appreciate moments like in this video because unfortunately he doesn't get behind the drums so often anymore.
His play style is so much like animal in the muppets!
That was some true advanced drum performance!!
Hats down !!!😮
He was 52years old, yet he still had the Midas touch - In an interview, he said his influences for this particular drum beat back in 1991 were from the disco and funk groups like Cameo, Chic and The Gap Band song "Early in the Morning" - I'll download the single - If the band permit it.
Hands down..or hats off, never heard hats down
The pure joy that comes to his face as he starts drumming !!
Dave Grohl is one of the best legendary drummers from Nirvana.
Uh, he is the legendary drummer from nirvana.
When he let his hair get in his face and sloppy reminded me of him in the 90s.
Is the internet in agreement that this is best ever and will always be the the best ever drum solo live for this song? Damn it’s so good and passionate
Because he is the real drummer for Godsake
Ever is pretty crazy
The best drum cover.
You can tell that was a hard one for him. As soon as the guitar started you see the face drop . RIP Kurt
It's called focusing on what you're doing.
@@martinc.720He's keeping the beat to his dead friend's voice and followlng Kurt's timing.
Grow up, please.
such an awesome performance. Dave has a ton of power behind every single hit. love that they setup a nirvana 4 piece kit for him
Traditional drums from back in the day!
My heart is breaking.
But that's a beautiful performance.😢
Mine did, as well. Dave put his heart into this performance. It's as if Kurt was right there with him. This was powerful. 😢
so focused, powerful, raw...even with the emotional background. Respect to Dave.
😭
Absolute definition of a "low slung dude" and nailed it to the wall, silent walk off was just 🔥
Watched him transform back into time right before our eyes
I love this! First the glance to the side as if to say: - Do I have to do this old song again... - Then proceeds to beat the shit out of the drums...Amazing energy!❤
Iv never seen someone look so joyous doing something they love🥲
A man whole truly excelled in his craft in every way. What an absolute legend..
GeeeeeZ!!!! This gives me CHILLS!!!!
I was soooo young when this came out.... Thank you to my DaD for teaching me to be DIVERSE in EVERYTHING in life!!!
GREATNESS all over again!!!! So glad to have been alive during such an AWESOME error of music and PURE TALENT!!!!
i couldnt imagine playing drums while i hear my dead friend singing in the background
It never gets old watching Dave Grohl behind the set with some sticks!!
Dave's still got it
This man has the ability to sound like an absolute canon with every strike he takes on a drum set. One of my favorite drummers all time
He Killed it.... Kurt we miss u....
He’s immediately in the pocket playing them 🥁 like muscle memory
He just went into a zone of nostalgia and killed it
The little drummer boy living his best life.❤
Singing and playing guitar is just a side quest for this guy
Soooo true. Wow
The first song I ever learned to play drums on. God I miss that time.
The catharsis in this performance is so palpable, you could pluck it out of the air. You can see this is a form of healing he's avoided for so long. Glad he's gotten past it and can celebrate Kurt's time with him. Love ya, Dave. ❤
Even it's great to see Dave doing what he's best at
What i love the most about Dave kicking the drums is his hair flying free. I imagine that he can't see very much, but thats okay. Pure passion.
This just blew my mind. He got them chops
Imagino o que estava passando na cabeça do Dave ouvindo o Kurt cantar e tbm lembrar os seus tempos de baterista. Não perdeu o pique e nem o seu groove 🥁🥁🎶
Even the hair is legendary!!!
its just so sad.. but still, the best
Kurt was a great talent, and he had a beautiful soul to match that was the face of Generation X - We lost a significant figure and much needed in today's mad, mad world - RIP Kurt. 🕊🪔
i love kurt, i love dave. they will go on to live forever.
The drums always Hits hard
I cried so much my god. It’s such a powerful drummer, a powerful song, a powerful band. When I heard Kurt’s voice I just cried my life :,)
Give him back to us ! Give him back to Dave, Krist, Courtney, his daughter and his family !
The way he let himself go🤩 Nothing but legendary 💖
The pause before closing the high hat 1:34 is so absolute crisp
What a legendary moment dude
I can't sleep without thinking about this video at least once. So enchanting.
I have a feeling he does this at home, nostalgia.
One of the best drum composition of all times
He is the most respected person person in music more so after this I salute you
He beat them drums like they owed him money!
Dave is literally a goat.
I can’t believe the singer from foo fighters covered nirvana! such a great cover!! :3
as a drummer he's my inspiration, his drumming on this song was simple but so good
The coolest dude ever
I bet no one saw it: 2:20-2:24
Dave is playing so hard a massive wood chip came off the stick
that's how you know he played with all intensity.
Nirvana is life.
So on point and crisp! Its like his body is tubed to play it perfectly and hes just watching himself! A true master class at drums from one of the best to pick up the sticks!
That feeling when the drums are tuned 5 semitones lower at the end of the song compared to the beginning of the song.
I didn't expect Kurt's voice to start singing. Dave just destroys the drum kit.
Massive Goosebumps !!
the drum stick movements?! OMG!!! it's magical!!!
A legend of the drums!!!
I think there needs to be an emoticon for 'animal' .. the wild drummer from the Muppets 🤩
I can’t get enough!
It brought tears to my eyes ❤
Dave grohl is such a legend ❤
Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters is coping the drum of Nirvana's greatest song "Smells Like Teen Spirit"! He must be a great fan of Nirvana.
Dave Kurt is looking down and saying U Kick it out there thanks for all the great memories with with Nirvana you guys made many people happy
Dave ist der Grösste!!!!!!
I love how it’s just him playing the drums. People like him get lost in the background because of the front man. Here, we see the amazing skill set this man has.
Kicking ass after more than 30 years of not playing those drums! Insane level of talent Dave Grohl has!
Deve Grohl...sem perder a magestade!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What a man! Best drummer ever as far as im concerned.
He did this just to make sure everyone on the planet knows he’s a complete and utter legend forever ❤❤❤
I want my band to have a drummer that looks like they feel the music as much as him
other drummers plays while remembering all the beats, but dave plays purely with his soul
the drummer who lost the vocalist and the vocalist who lost the drummer.
Yep.. he still got it, The man is very talented indeed.
I like it.. good job Dave
Gave me chills, amazing drummer
When kurt starts to sing…..omg 😢😢😢
I first started listening to Rock music in January. I was addicted to Nirvana...especially this song. So much so is started Drum Lessons and im loving it.

Dave's skills are vastly underrated
Can we all just PLEASE stop calling anyone or anything, “underrated?” I always hope that someone has a better, more original comment that doesn’t include overused adjectives.
not at all
He's considered one of the best rock drummers in History
He's The Legend. Not underrated!!!
You mean, other than being considered one of the best drummers in the world? You call that "underrated", or did you just feel like you had to use a buzzword in order to get "thumbs up" based on which you could validate your existence?
C'est un de mes préféré batteur de grosse pointure, j'aime sa puissance et son énergie surtout pour ce morceau.
