I have a testimony about everything happening today. Your post is very timely. I'm a 2 time breast cancer survivor. I had just started chemotherapy March 2020. I prayed to ask Heavenly Father if i should one get the shot and two continue chemotherapy. The answer was no, do not get the shot. Yes, stop the chemotherapy. I knew this was against my doctors advice, but Jesus Christ has passed down his power through the Holy Ghost. I turned to my husband and priesthood leaders for a priesthood blessing. I'm still here, i was cancer in 2022. I've conquered cancer twice through the Grace of God. I have been diagnosed with breast cancer again for a third time. I will continue to trust God to heal me this time, too. I'm using holistic methods. I've changed my diet to more vegetarian, and i use Asea Redox supplements. Also, I am sensitive to the 5g towers. That's another story. I would gladly explain how that contributed to the cancer.

I know we are safe if we keep our lamps always burning because the prophet always keeps his lamp burning. But the Foolish didn't apply that counsel to keep buying the oil from the marketplace as the wise did. So the foolish were without oil. While the wise had plenty of oil for the journey to go out and meet the Bridegroom because they obeyed the prophet to get the oil.. But they didn't have spare oil to give to the foolish because you can't convert for someone else....The oil of personal conversion is not sharable. This is why the prophet says you must have your own testimony, you must know for yourself, you can't live on the borrowed light of others.

I got Covid in February of 2020. I got deathly ill, but worked through it. I had been less active so I never heard what the Prophet said at the time, but when my work tried to force it on me my whole Being said NO! This is the same feeling I had when deciding whether to go back to work after my first child was born. That answer shook my being as well. I am certain that we are to pray about all things. I don’t feel that I went against the prophet, but I went through a tremendous amount of opposition for my views and lost my job over it.
My personal views are that anything that the government tries to force on us needs to be scrutinized, immensely! The Lord doesn’t force anything. He invites and admonishes, but never does He force us.

You followed the prophet perfectly. The letter in Aug 2021 was a parable. It's purpose was not to get 100% compliance by membership - because taking "it" has nothing to do with our exaltation. That letter had other purposes - like sifting and going under radars. On top of that, if one actually studied that letter - it left room for both choices (take poyson things or don't take them and protect yourself in other ways). The opposition you encountered was encountered all around the world. It was unacceptable and unChristlike. But if we endure it well and ignore it and realise that it is all part of the sifting, we will be stronger for it. After all of that, anyone who focussed on just that one letter and ignored all other communications on the topic were being very "myopic" as President Nelson taught us about. We live in interesting times.

I must admit I had to do some serious praying to know what I should do and think. What I learned: President Nelson is the Prophet for the whole world, not just the USA. There were countries who wouldn't let people out of their houses without getting it. I have many weird allergies and went to my doctor who told me NOT to get it. My husband had to get it for his job. We went to the temple, prayed and received the answers we needed to make the choice for our best interests. I did not get it, my husband did...after he got a Priesthood Blessing. The Holy Ghost has witnessed to me that Russell M Nelson is a true Prophet and I will listen to his words. If I have a question I pray, and pray HARD. What this woman in the temple said about the prophet of Zion is not even correct. For all the scriptures point to Zion being in
control in the hands of the Lord in the last days. Nowhere in scripture does it say that Zion is of the Anti Christ. Or that the saints are
preparing for the 1000 year reign of Anti Christ. For the scriptures teach that Christ reigns on the earth personally for a thousand years with his saints in peace and righteousness. The scriptures tell you that the Lord speaks his voice from out of Zion in the last days..And in Zion will be peace and joy and everlasting songs..And the meek and the poor shall trust in it, and zion and her convert shall be redeemed with judgement and with righteousness (Isaiah)... That is hardly the description of an anti christ kingdom.
And that is why the Lord has got living prophets and apostles on the earth to speak for him in our day and time from out of Zion. Joel 3:15-20. Because Zion is the Kingdom of God.
The foolish virgins somehow got it wrong, they were not consistent in filling up their lamps.

I prayed very sincerely why the church would be supporting what I believed to be an evil agenda. Each time I finished praying I had the overwhelming feeling from the Spirit that it was indeed wrong and I should not participate.
I guess I didn't want to hear that answer, so I kept praying asking the same question...and getting the same answer.
Finally on June 17th I prayed and told God I would stop doubting Him and accept that answer. The following morning, a little after 4AM, an angel visited me in my bedroom and commended me on my faith and that I was indeed correct in what I was doing. The angel was a young woman who was dressed in a pure white robe. She even gave me her first and last name that she had in life (whom I later matched up with her obituary).

You know how many people like to say, "But the prophets aren't perfect and they can be wrong, and so I need to receive my own revelation about this subject that thr prophet has spoken about."
Well, it is true that we are meant to seek after our own revelation from God, but it is to confirm our understanding and faith in what the prophets say, not to open up thr possibility that we will receive revelation contrary to what the prophet has said. That is the high road to apostasy - to think that you know better than the prophet.
If you think about it, have the scriptures ever said or given an example wherein a person was excused from following the prophet because the Lord told some individual differently than ehat the prophet had said? No, the Lord's house is a house of order.
The miracle is that the Lord can lead us correctly through fallible people, not that he makes them perfect. And we are not excused from following them even though they have got certain things wrong or confused at times, for a time.
In "Two Lines of Communication," President Oaks teaches clearly thst priesthood revelation and personal revelation are meant to support each other, not to compete. Wonderful talk.

Many people across the world can't even read and write and they can't go into deep study. Maybe later on Heavenly Father will help them learn but you CAN'T DEPEND ON ANY PERSON TO BE COMPLETELY 100 PERCENT ACCURATE IN THEIR INFORMATION. I'd like to add to what Kimberly Olsen (below) said.
I too struggled about getting the "vaccine". I was torn, and prayed about it a lot before I came to my decision.
    It came down to this:
I believe Pres. Nelson IS the Lord's prophet on the earth today. I don't think the Lord would let His prophet deceive or misdirect His church.
However, I can, and do, ALSO pray to get feelings, guidance, and answers for myself.
I concluded that I WOULD follow the first presidency's admonition to get the vaccine. I figured that maybe part of the reason to encourage us was so the government would have no excuse to shut the church down further, especially TEMPLE work!
I also prayed that if there WAS anything harmful in the "vaccine" that the Lord would neutralize it so it would be harmless to those who did go ahead and get it.
(I was 68 at that time) I only had the first two Phizer shots, with no ill effects that I'm aware of.
I have no plans to get any additional shots, but I'm going to pray about each instance that comes up, and then do my best to follow the Prophet, and my heart.
It really doesn't matter if we live or die. But the intent of our hearts matter, and our willingness to trust the Lord to guide us as we navigate these last days.
And I accept that we might not always fully understand the whole picture.
Each of us has to have our individual conversation with the Lord, and follow the promptings we receive. It will ALL work out in the end. 😌

It’s crazy that you posted this video today because last night, I was in the comments of two LDS CZcamsrs. And I just straight up asked them both, have you seen…. And if so, how can you still support….
They both told me they have seen…. One of them said they were working on a response. The other referred me to an interview where they defended…. I told them I will definitely watch it and get back to them and they ❤️ the comment.
I watched the full 50 minute interview and my mind was blown. They went as far as to take a scripture about the second coming of Jesus Christ, and leave out the verse’s about Christ coming and the mountains being made low and valleys disappearing, in order to make it sound like it applied to…. So they could use that scripture to defend…. I could not believe it. I did write a long response to them pointing out all the things I could remember from that interview that I took issue with and why. And I explained that I wasn’t doing this out of hate or judgement, I’m doing it because what I’m seeing goes against the kingdom of god. I have not gotten a response.
I asked the other CZcamsr about his viewers being possibly deceived by certain content he posts. He said he doesn’t think most peoples testimonies are that weak. I responded by asking him, if only one of his viewers has their testimony damaged, isn’t that one too many??One of his viewers responded by saying that we are responsible for our own testimony and we’ve been instructed on how to protect it. I responded by saying that we are also not supposed to cast a stumbling block before others, and I reminded him what Cane said to the Lord after he slew Able. “Am I my brothers keeper?” Yes. We are our brothers keeper.

@@justjamie6458 - what comes to mind when I think of the scenario of what happened in church members homes is the words of this little story:
A few months before I was born, my dad met a stranger who was new to our small Tennessee town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer, and soon invited him to live with our family.
The stranger was quickly accepted and was around to welcome me into the world a few months later. As I grew up I never questioned his place in our family. Mom taught me to love the Word of God. Dad taught me to obey it. But the stranger was our storyteller. He could weave the most fascinating tales. Adventures, mysteries and comedies were daily conversations. He could hold our whole family spellbound for hours each evening.
He was like a friend to the whole family. He took Dad, Bill and me to our first major league baseball game. He was always encouraging us to see the movies and he even made arrangements to introduce us to several movie stars.
The stranger was an incessant talker. Dad didn't seem to mind, but sometimes Mom would quietly get up - while the rest of us were enthralled with one of his stories of faraway places - and go to her room read her Bible and pray. I wonder now if she ever prayed that the stranger would leave.
You see, my dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions. But this stranger never felt an obligation to honor them. Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our house - not from us, from our friends, or adults. Our longtime visitor, however, used occasional four-letter words that burned my ears and made Dad squirm. To my knowledge the stranger was never confronted.
My dad was a teetotaler who didn't permit alcohol in his home - not even for cooking. But the stranger felt he needed exposure and enlightened us to other ways of life. He offered us beer and other alcoholic beverages often. He made cigarettes look tasty, cigars manly, and pipes distinguished. He talked freely (too much too freely) about sex.
His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and generally embarrassing. I know now that my early concepts of the man/woman relationship were influenced by the stranger. As I look back, I believe it was the grace of God that the stranger did not influence us more.
Time after time he opposed the values of my parents. Yet he was seldom rebuked and never asked to leave. More than thirty years have passed since the stranger moved in with the young family on Morningside Drive. But if I were to walk into my parents' den today, you would still see him sitting over in a corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures. His name? We always called him TV.

In Teachings of the Presidents of the Church, Chapter 27 "Beware the Bitter Fruits of Apostasy," there is much that explains how ignoring our priesthood leaders makes us vulnerable to apostasy:
“I will give you one of the Keys of the mysteries of the Kingdom. It is an eternal principle, that has existed with God from all eternity: That man who rises up to condemn others, finding fault with the Church, saying that they are out of the way, while he himself is righteous, then know assuredly, that that man is in the high road to apostasy; and if he does not repent, will apostatize, as God lives.” Heber C. Kimball, while serving as a counselor to President Brigham Young, reported: “I will give you a key which Brother Joseph Smith used to give in Nauvoo. He said that the very step of apostasy commenced with losing confidence in the leaders of this church and kingdom, and that whenever you discerned that spirit you might know that it would lead the possessor of it on the road to apostasy.”

I want to add my testimony as well. The prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, President Russell M. Nelson is a true and living prophet. Called by God. Appointed to lead us directly in these times and days in which we live. He will not deceive us. Everything in this video is good and true and right. Because she is correctly pointing all of us to our living prophet today, and not away from! If any are in doubt. Remember "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me." John 13:20

Agree 10000% about not needing to look outside the collected scripture for increased learning. There is MORE to learn from the Book of Mormon and Isaiah than most of us have taken time and effort to gain.. 1 Nephi 1:1...having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God,...
The prophet pleaded with us to desire to understand what the fullness of the Holy Ghost might be like. The prophet wants us to have a higher holier life! How many times has he counseled us to increase our reception of revelation and prophecy in our lives? That we will not be able to survive the last days without it. He is telling us to go to the source, as he is, and be taught. Not seperate from his council at all but in harmony.

Monson who said that we didn't have to take the counsel of the prophets by their word but that we could go and ask for ourselves and listen for the Lord, who would give us testimony. I did this after hearing the prophet about the shot. I did have to back my thoughts up and be willing to accept what the Lord's counsel is. I was distinctly impressed that I was okay not to take the shot. I'm glad I have a relationship with the Lord and can sustain His prophet. Ironically they try using latter-day scripture and revelation to refute latter-day scripture and revelation... I've learned that the gift of discernment for me operates a lot like the prophet Joseph Smith's statement "by proving contraries, truth is made manifest." Some falsehoods are so near the truth that rather than have a lightbulb moment of discernment in the moment, it is revealed to me over time as I contrast that over and over with other truths I already know. I think Heavenly Father expects that of us in all decisions. To not blindly follow but to study it out in our hearts and our minds. The How Do You Hear Him campaign was a timely gift that we should continue to employ. The use of stratagem was taught so consistently in The Book of Mormon. We should expect the confusion to continue and that will require continuous personal revelation.

Accusing so many and persecuting those who didn't take it. The point of my article was that our prophet has invited us to do ALL THE THINGS - so many invitations in all of his talks since he was called as an apostle. One letter and how one applied that council does not trump all the other things that make a saint - like - being part of the Lord's youth battalion, having social media fasts, making time for the Lord, spending more time in His Holy House, getting rid of contention from our lives, developing charity - just to name a few THINGS. So many saintly principles needing to be addressed in our lives. But... for those of us who didn't take it... it has been a hard road to travel alone. We have been gaslit for years now by members and family over this issue. There are still many who don't realise that they followed the prophet in not taking the "thingies". If you're not sure, and you are earnestly asking in prayer, the best and safest thing to do a long with those things is to:

I have become rather exhausted with the CV narrative pertaining to the Prophet. More specifically I felt the spirit at times in my life that were pointing me in the direction of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And a year after being baptized, I saw people on both sides of that argument telling me that if I don’t get it, then I’m going to be cut off and others who said if you get it, then you will be cut off and anything else in between. But what I knew is that the Holy Ghost fell upon me when I read the book of Mormon and pointed me towards Truth that I never thought even existed let alone could’ve been true. Other things which I learned dead at the bottom of my heart, I desired to be true, even if it meant that I would not be in the celestial kingdom because at the time I was not baptized, but just the knowledge that what I was taught about heaven, as a child was not God‘s plan but rather the machinations of men. And that the doctrines that I had come to discover was everything I knew in my heart had to be true. It has become evident to me that there are knowledges which confirm latter-day saint teachings which have survived, but I don’t understand how it is that people think President Nelson is not a prophet. All I know is the patriarch said “Be patient in your endeavors and remember that the church is Divine.” And our patriarchal blessings have proven themselves many times over to be true. And it has become apparent to me that some people seem to be looking to other voices To be a prophet for their lives.

His question - will you follow the prophet next time he asks you to do something is a great question... but it shouldn't have been attached to the persecution he was still inflicting on saints who were still at church after all these years of manipulation by people like himself. very sad indeed.

The problem with the prophet and the jab is that people forget he wasn't telling us to 109% get it. He also told us to Pr😢ay about it. My husband needed it or couldn't get a transplant. So for us it was a yes. If you prayed and got a no, you followed the prophet. I also was a temple worker and it was required.

Upon my house shall it begin and from my house shall it go forth. The inhabitants of Zion will judge those who are not prophets and apostles, but are hypocrites.
The one mighty and strong will set the house of God in order as well.
All is well in Zion (the church is in a good and acceptable condition) is a lie of the adversary to slowly drag members down to hell. How come all isn't well in Zion? Are we not growing, building temples, and does President Nelson not gush over the members and praise them for their faith and sacrifices? What could possibly not well with the church?
Who took over the vineyard, necessitating the need for the Lord to destroy his enemies, bringing about the redemption of Zion?
Who are the miserable wicked men in the parable of the husbandmen in JST Matthew 21?
What I see this video is a strong reliance on the arm of flesh and not the scriptures.
The reason we do not have the sealed portion of the Book of Mormon is because we are in a state of great wickedness and unbelief as Ether 4 states. Jeremiah 23 and Ezekiel 34 explains why we are in this state, and Isaiah adds that it's because our leaders are corrupt.
Joseph Smith said the saints' minds were darkened in his day because they were putting their trust in him, so the idea of relying on a prophet to avoid deception is a lie.
The Lord says all that Isaiah wrote has been and shall be. What has been in Isaiah? The apostasy and destruction of the Lords covenant people. What shall be? The same thing will happen to the saints, save for a small remnant who repents at the word's of a servant described in 3rd Nephi 20-22.
I would bet many Jews were told to say close to Caiphus in his day. Similar events will happen today.

    • @RebeccaGroendyke
      @RebeccaGroendyke Před 25 dny

Yes, you need a strong reliance on the scriptures. In the scriptures we learn about Prophets. The Lord speaks to Prophets so that they may guide, warn, direct and be a watchman and can help bring about Zion … oneness. We are millions of people with millions of ideas and opinions. The Lord established a house of Oder and a way for us to not be so confused in a sea of voices. He speaks the mind and will of the Lord for the Lord’s Church and gospel. Doctrine and Covenants 1: 38-39.
There is a scripture that talks and warns about those that wrest the scriptures. We must be careful as some will twist and interpret scripture to work for them in their favor of the natural man. We too are the arm of the flesh.
We also learn in the temple when we speak ill of the Lord’s anointed, we are in the power of the adversary. Even Jesus ( in 3 Nephi) told the people to go home and pray over the things they had seen and heard. That is the part where we do more that just rely on the flesh when we actively seek the spirit to confirm and teach the truth be it the words of our Prophet or those in the scripture. So it is this balance (scriptures, Prophets, prayers, the Sacrament, covenants, doctrine, etc. )that provides a 2nd witness and helps us stay in check. Prayerfully the word (scriptures) renew your covenants weekly at the Sacrament Table, prayer, listen to the Prophet. Yes, the Prophet is a man but what makes him different is that he has been called, chosen, set apart, anointed, appointed to receive direction through the keys in which he holds and has been given. He, by the virtue of his calling is blessed to see things that we can’t, is privy to information that we don’t have. It is up to us to heed ; pay attention to the Prophet’s words and pray over them as to how we can apply them in our lives.
I feel that where we are not well in Zion is like when we are members of the Church in name only verses being intentional in our testimonies of the scriptures, the Prophet, covenants, the Savior. We must work for the blessing of really knowing and believing and cultivating the kind of faith that moves mountains. I feel those that say and believe all is well in Zion are those that believe they are beyond being deceived, those that think they it is enough to just be members without actively applying what they learn…surface members rather than being “all in” kind of thing.
Hopefully and prayerfully, we can overcome the world and be the people that the Lord will return to.🙏🏻🤞

I look to Them in every thought. I have a constant ongoing conversation with Them over everything. I have been a witness to tender mercies and many miracles. My faith has been tried AND obedience to principles of the gospel has always proved to be true. My favorite scripture is Isaiah 55:8-9. I am keenly aware that man’s ways and God’s ways are vastly different and everyday all day…I seek His higher holier ways. I am not perfect, the more I know and learn, the more there is to overcome.
I look to my Heavenly Father and my Savior in every thought. When I read my scriptures, I am constantly asking What does this mean? What do you want me to learn? How am I to apply and liken this to myself? I make notes as thoughts come. I ask the Lord all the time to open my eyes, to remove the scales from off my eyes…He knows how much I desire to Hear Him and I do go to Him to know from Him. I do have moments of weakness and go to others to help me process some of my thoughts. It is in those times that I realize there are so many voices and interpretations. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father and Savior that have a gospel of order.
      Articles of Faith:
We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

If you read the JST for Matthew 24--which is Joseph Smith-Matthew 1-- you will have a slightly different understanding of Matthew 24: 24. Read JS-Matthew 1:22. The word "were" is not there. The sense we are left with is that there will be some of the elect for whom it will be possible to be deceived.
