AI voices are getting more realistic and that's kinda terrifying. I honestly thought the person was using their voice and had a convincing voice impression of the character.

AI also makes you sound like the character, yes. BUT it makes you sound like a robot, and it puts alot of spaces and wrong pronunciations in the words. It is usually obvious when AI is used

I agree, I think using AI to mimic other people's voices generally is wrong without concent but I think that with consent it would be okay.
But I am curious to know your opinion (or anyone else's) on perosnal use. I'm not talking about a public thing on some popular site like YT or TokTok, just something small someone makes for themselves.
I'd never even use AIs for even this, but I'm just curious to know your opinion on a non-public use.
(Also I don't want to cause any hate or arguments by this question, I'm just interetsed in hearing different points of view for a topic with such ranged opinions which makes it quite interesting.)
I agree with you on this, and not using AI for anything, even though I don't have a VR headset, i still agree with you 💯 that it's not right for people to copy other actor voices that people made by themselves! like the (amazing Digital Circus crew, who made it, and the character voices) Afton and Tk did the voices by themselves, of the characters, and even im amazed by his voice acting, I can try to do some of them, but not all of them, I mean Tk and afton and others did a very good job on the videos and keep doing it!
Personally as a voice actor in training myself I like the idea of me making one of my voice
If it's personal use, then that's alright, but to use it to monetise content that isn't yours? That's a different story.

Severe disagree. It's just like art. Ai will never fully replace it. Humans will always be needed for the creative origins. Ai will never be able to make its own unique content. It needs us to do that
I agree, but this situation has made many others very uncomfortable.

It is safe. Voicemod is mainly used for voice effects. It has cheeply made ai voices, but they are for jokes.

I had done a project with them for fun, and they expected popularity from me. Meaning a shoutout and such. I had only done it for fun, and when he was upset that I did not comply it got rocky from there.

I give my honest thinking of AI. I will said, I don't support it but I like it. I seen people who work very hard using AI take like Neruo-sama it been put hard work in it, and I love it so much but it just my option and likes.,
However...there some I do not like that doing voice, now I seen people use ai cover for a song and I don't have like an actual option on it. To me it didn't seem it like hurting people in ways, but when it come to video like this...yes it shouldn't be use or even using AI for EVERYTHING.
Ai is a good, but also a terrible thing that exist. It like us human we do good and bad.

AI voices are like art in a way, they take time and effort to make. As someone who has been using AI for a while, I'm gonna say that AI as a whole will not replace any VA in any movie ir show
Personally, AI covers for songs are actually pretty good. Sure it's disturbing for the CA to hear an AI-Recreation of their voice, but it is also amazing how good the voice sounds.
I support all reasons why Michael doesn't want his voice to be recreated, but the effort taken to make these AI voices is somewhat incredible
