Mr Green is my favorite in every ending. Michael McKean is so jumpy and with a constant dry sass that cracks me up. He's so funny when Tim is dragging him around for the finale, only to get some revenge in the C ending. With the revolver, in the foyer.

I watched Clue in the theaters on the opening weekend. The ending on that viewing was the Mrs. Peacock one. People started to complain to theaters about not knowing which ending was playing where, so in the later weeks, the movie listings would put "Clue A", "Clue B" or "Clue C" in the listings, so people would know which ending they missed if they wanted to go see it multiple times. I didn't see the other 2 endings until Clue was out on video for rentals, years later.

I only saw one ending, but that was because I watched it on VHS, and the tape ran out at the end. I just thought that was how the movie ended! Also, as much as I love Tim Curry, Mrs. White's "Flames on the side of my face" is the best part of the whole movie.

Absolute favorite movie ever! I've seen this movie at least 90 times since I was 8 or 9. The dialogue is hilarious - just absolutely genius writing. It's such a quotable movie. My favorite conversation has to be:
The Chief: Good evening. Have you ever given any thought to the kingdom of Heaven?
    Mrs. Peacock: What!?
The Chief: Repent. The kingdom of heaven IS at hand.
Miss Scarlet: You ain't just whistlin' Dixie.
The Chief: Armageddon is almost upon us.
Professor Plum: I got news for you - it's already here!
    Mrs. Peacock: Go away!
The Chief: But your souls are in danger!
Mrs. Peacock: Our lives our in danger, you beatnik!
    or
Professor Plum: What are you afraid of? A fate worse than death?
Mrs. Peacock: No, just death. Isn't that enough?

An all time classic of clever wordplay, campy pratfalls, and some of the funniest line delivery ever.
I can unfortunately recite the whole movie almost from memory having watched it so many times 😅 but I still love watching it.
For another fast paced clever comedy with Tim Curry 😉 - Oscar, with Marissa Tomei and Sylvester Stallone.

This is one of the best ensemble comedies out there, with 8 of the best comedic talents of the time (6 players, Wadsworth and Yvette) in the central roles without having anyone whose celebrity at the time would unbalance the interest of viewers. The chief was a cameo from Howard Hesseman in an uncredited role, at the time best known for WKRP in Cincinnati. Many of the actors were in other projects together in smaller groups as almost all of them were the go to cast for comedy in the 80s and 90s.

I did a one person recreation of many scenes of "Clue: The Movie", in what started as a simple movie review. I even added a few extended scenes, and changed a bit around, such as giving Mrs. White a lighter when she says her famous Flames, flames line. We also learn more about her first husband. And even Plum's space-time experiments. I also sang a few excerpts from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" at certain points. Yevette on the stairs singing to Mr. Green, "I can make you a mannnn." I had too many favorite parts of "Clue", so I recreated most of them. It's here on CZcams under the title "Clue: The Movie, Review, Reactions & Recreations". There is also a great documentary called "Who Done It: The Clue Documentary" (2022) here on CZcams, it even has animated version of the deleted ending, as the director reads the story book.

The brilliance of this film is that any guest could be the murderer. It was designed that way. It has 3 endings, after all!
One of the endings has one of the most brilliant improvs because the actress forgot her lines.
If you think this is silly, try Murder By Death, a parody on murder mysteries. Even works if you don't know iconic cinematic detective like Charlie Chan & Miss Marple.

I didn't see this until it was released on VHS with all three endings. I managed to find a newspaper ad and saw where all three endings were playing in my old neighborhood. I seriously doubt, at the time, that my parents would take me to three different theatres, especially since they weren't all that close to home, to watch the same movie.
Neil Simon's Murder By Death was a spoof of the genre with an all-star cast. It came out in the late 70s. I haven't watched it in a very long time so I'm not sure if the humor holds up but considering who made and who's in it, it should still be entertaining at the very least.

I only got to see this on home video when having a VHS player was a middle class status symbol and video rental stores weren't even a thing yet, at least in my area. This was my first exposure to the idea that there could be multiple versions of the same film. I was a kid and only found out years later about how moviegoers might not know which ending they would get to see. Hell, I only became aware of the board game after i saw the movie! It continues to boggle my mind that an 80s movie based on a BOARD GAME is more creatively inspired and entertaining than subsequent studio attempts to create films based on video games, comic books, and theme park rides! Kudos to all involved for bringing their A-game to this production which must've seemed like a silly idea on paper. And RIP to Martin Mull.

Born in '71 here, so not sure you'll know or care about much i have to say here friend😅, but somebody might,...possibly?
This was only a hit, if it even was considered a bonafied one, because, at least, a generation had grown up playing the boardgame their whole life. Is what we did in the "Before Time Days"😅 without cable, vcrs, or computers. The cast was mostly beloved pop film & tv actors we'd also grown up with, with the exception of Curry, actually. Rocky Horror Picture Show was an adult oriented oddity shown in dark corners, at least was back then in podunk wagon-wheel boot-scootin' HEE HAW Land, Old Nashville. Original "It" is the only other thing i can remember him being in until this. Even though i loved the game, the cast, & was intrigued to see how they'd pull it off on screen, i wasn't that intrigued, so didn't see until years later. But the way i remember it it was billed as 3 separate films you could choose to see, same movie, different endings. Go See All 3!!!
    🤗💕
When i did finally watch it i was a bit surprised to see Punk Rocker & lead singer for Legendary band FEAR, Lee Ving play "Mr. Body". Still new here, so dont know if you've heard of a '70's up & coming GOAT by the name of John Belushi, but he was the only celebrity in history to be on a #1 tv show (1st & best Saturday Night Live), star in a #1 movie (Animal House), & have a #1 record (The Blues Brothers) all within a year before he danced with "Mr. Bownstone" a little too hard one night, alongside pals Robert De Niro & Robin Williams & never woke up. Is what got Williams off the dope. If haven't see any of these they're all comedy calssic gems: Animal House, The Blues Brothers, or my personal fave, his last comedy once again co-starring his real life best friend Dan Akroyd, reversing intended roles. But that one may be best to watch after you're familiar with Belushi? Probably wouldn't be a very popluar reaction video, havent seen one pop yet, since computer world happened. Unfortunately a lot of lost Pop Classics virtually disappeared from radar if the makers didn't do a cable tv or mass video distribution/video store deals. Like excellent 5-star Oscar worthy "Bad Boys" starring a teenage Sean Penn fresh off his first role in based on true story stoner Classic "Fast Times At Ridgemont High". A lot of big name actors got their stsrt in that one, incuding Nicholas Cage & Forrest Whitaker. Sean Penn is mostly firgotten about nowadays too except for maybe his sht politics?😅 But he's as good as any De Niro, or Di Capprio for that matter. I mention that as an example. Bring up or type in "Bad Boys" & all that will come up these days is Will Smith, Martin Lawrence comedy.😔
Anyway, back to "Mr. Body".😅 Since i was blessed to receive my first memories, realization that i was alive, on my 4th birthday when i scored a Evil Kneivel playset🤘😎, July 1975. I remember the debut of Saturday Night Live that October. Belushi became my idol. Was hearbroken when he died in '82. I read all the bios & learned at the end his favorite band was FEAR & he actually got in a fist fight with the director on the set of "Neighbors" over him refusing to put FEAR on the soundtrack. Belushi also got them a gig on SNL one Halloween. Is on here/yt. Donald Pleasance, Dr Lumas(?) from "Halloween" introduced them & they tore the place apart, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damages & eventually had the plug pulled & went to commercial.😅 So about 20 years ago i heard FEAR was coming to town. Knowing they'd play "Let's Start A War" as their encore i made my way to the bathroom right beside the stage. And when they walked off i popped out & walked backstage with them. I went up to Ving & gave him a big hug & kiss on the cheek, expecting to get totally stomped. If you know FEAR/Lee Ving, you know exactly what im talking about!😅 But instead he turned out to be the coolest mofo you could ever meet. I told him i grew up listening to his music as a '80's punkster myself, but heard he was friends with Belushi, a little known fact back then. And to my surpise we ended up having a few brews while he happily reminisced about his old friend, my childhood idol. The closest I'll probably ever get to Belushi this life?
    You rule, "Mr. Body"!😅
...Hey, what can i say? Had a minute, took a minute.
    Rock On, friends!
    🤘🌎❤️

The ironing board hitting Colonel Mustard on the head is more than just a nice bit of physical humour: it's also a subtle clue for the 'multiple killers' ending. If, as the Colonel claimed, he had been searching the kitchen at the time the driver was murdered, he should already know that there's just an ironing board behind that door. Since he doesn't, that casts doubt on his alibi.
If you do find time to rewatch the film, keep an eye out to see if Mrs White and/or Professor Plum really are absent during the scenes where they're meant to be murdering one of the first two victims.

the idea turn Clue into a movie came from John Cleese,
who wrote a script & was going to play the butler,
but when director Jonathan Lynn came aboard,
Lynn & John Landis wrote a whole new script
& Lynn wrote Wadsworth for his high school mate Tim Curry

I have this movie on Blu-Ray and one of the features is that you can play the movie and it will show one of the three endings at random, or you can choose to watch the version with all three endings. And, obviously, this is just my opinion, but I think the reason they made three endings is because just as the game can end any number of ways, so can the movie. The first ending is my favorite. Do you have a preferred ending?
