I about drove myself crazy trying to figure out why my reclining sofa stopped working.....I didn't know about the cut off button! Thank you for making this clear and simple, I have my couch back!
Thanks for the video. Our lift chair was stuck up for a week. There are like 4 connections were wires plug into other wires, and with the chair moving up/down a lot, one of them worked loose. Now it's working again.
Thank you! The issue I had was that both ends of my sofa were stuck in the reclining position. As it turns out, the cut- off button wasn't lit up green. I pushed the button and my sofa works again. I'm grateful you made this video! I hadn't even noticed the cut-off button until you mentioned it!
Very helpful. We just got a power reclinder sofa from Costco and one side didn't work. I was thinking bad unit and need to have a warranty replacement made. Watching this video made me check the connections underneath, and the connector to the control switch was unplugged on the non working side. Didn't think they had another connection under the sofa, as it was not mentioned in the manufacturer's instructions that came with the furniture. This simple fix saved me a lot of hassle.
Awesome. Thanks a lot. That last thing you said in the video made my day. My recliner was refusing to go back to normal position after extending it fully. As you said, I just unplugged it for few mins and plug it back again, miracle happened. It started working normal again. Once again THANKS.
This helped me. My expensive CostCo electric dual motor love seat stopped working on one recliner. Sure enough, underneath it next to the motor there is a small extra plug that goes into the motor that came undone. As soon as I plugged it in everything worked.
Thank you! We had checked everything beforehand but thankfully watched your video til the end. Thank you!! Your last statement about waiting for the motor to reset itself worked.
I was hoping to get a real video on how to fix my chair and ended up wasting 3 minutes watching this guy plug it in. Wow problem fixed. As if it could ever be that simple.
Jonet Craig I made one recently. Hopefully it helps, if not let me know and I might be able to help diagnose it with you. m.czcams.com/video/WN-C2ycMXOI/video.html
Oh, good shout - just keep pressing buttons and checking connections. Chair hasn't been working for a week. It was your comment of the connections to and from the motor that did the trick
I had a chair that would only lift and not recline. This is how I fixed it. The controller had fallen down and some plastic broke inside that was holding a screw. So the screw was rattling around in there. And, the screw ended up getting lodged onto the circuit board. This interefered with the signals on the remote. To fix, Unplug your chair and unscrew the 4 screws on the back of your remote. Then unscrew the circuitboard from the remote and remove the screw. If you have had a rattling remote for a while and it stops working this maybe the issue.
Oh yeah that's right I forgot it's that time of year again. The chair unplug fairy came and tricked me again. I should have known better. Thanks Charlie
I used to work as a technician and I've driven 80 miles out into the country to find that the power cord was unplugged after the customer assured me repeatedly that it was firmly plugged in. As the video shows, power cords have two ends on occasion. I've also been called out only to find that the circuit breaker was blown. No power to the plug. So while the video is simplistic, it's not that we're all morons. Only some of us... :)
good video thank you. Do you think I can make ashley recliner button on the side extended to use as hand control for someone with physical difficulties to be able to have it on lap or tv tray? I would love any help you could give-- thank you!
What does it mean when the remote flashes and nothing else happens? Nothing in the manual, nothing comes up when you google this subject. Anyone else had this problem?
I have a chair sort of similar to this and the power works, But for some weird reason, when lowering the foot rest, the chair will start lifting up and as the foot rest gets lower, the foot rest and the chair sort of 'slams' back down. Any idea of what might be causing the chair to slam down when the foot rest is lowered?
Thank you for your comment! There are a lot of moving parts inside these chairs. A bent mechanism may be causing the chair to bind up somewhere, and then it slams shut once there is enough pressure on it. It’s just a guess. I hope this helps!
sometimes it is not plugged in from the factory, you get your recliner home and nothing works....if you're not electrically inclined, you need to be told these thing. Some genious's know all about everything, they think!!!
I call your attention to NEARLY EVERY OTHER COMMENT. THERE ARE CONNECTIONS THAT ARE NOT THAT OBVIOUS. I DON'T BELIEVE EVERYONE IS A MORON. THAT'S A REALLY NEGATIVE COMMENT.

I never dreamed there were that many things that had to be plugged in! Mine just stopped working. Hoping I can get it back working! Thank you!

Thanks for your very informative video! It came in handy last night when our recliner stopped mid-recline.

I rolled my eyes at first but checked anyway. My unit was a sales floor one and they sewed the transformer under the chair. This vid saved me.

Thanks that was good straight forward solution. It worked for me.
Helped me a lot. Thanks
Always check the power source first.
It is one of those chairs that has a USB in the middle of the two buttons on the right side of the chair
Oh yeah that's right I forgot it's that time of year again. The chair unplug fairy came and tricked me again. I should have known better. Thanks Charlie
Thank you for this helpful video.
What does it mean if you plug the power cord into the transformer and the green light goes off on the transformer?
give this man an oscar
Thanks it worked!!!!
Thank you, i was helped with this video.
Oh my goodness............you think we are all morons and didn't check to see if the chair is plugged in!
I used to work as a technician and I've driven 80 miles out into the country to find that the power cord was unplugged after the customer assured me repeatedly that it was firmly plugged in. Lol watching this in 2019 lmao
Yeah my wife fell and this happened I'm so glad I checked before calling!
renovacman LOOK WHO THE MORON IS NOW!!! Bahaha!
Thank You! Saved me money!
Didn’t think to check cords because the light on my wand was on... turns out my transformer has two 9v battery backups, and the chair was unpluged
"make sure not to put chair on top of cord" - Then puts chair on top of cord...
thanks! my headset works but chair doesn't...it opened now won't shut...will do these steps!
Thank you!
Bought this.
Thank you, I've fixed my chair now☺

I broke my Ashley power recliner cut off switch with green light indicator and small button lookingmfor replacement
My chair will go up but only come back down to sitting position. Foot rest will not come out so chair can recline
good video thank you. Do you think I can make ashley recliner button on the side extended to use as hand control for someone with physical difficulties to be able to have it on lap or tv tray? I would love any help you could give-- thank you!
Thanks Deb! Ashley makes lift chairs with "wands". You can probably find them in any Ashley store or we definitely have them.

My power chair when I hold the button down it moves an inch at a time takes forever to recline and takes forever to go back what is the problem
What about the 10% that don't work.
Español .....
REALLY!? dur dur dur dur dur dur
It this guy for real?
.
ridiculous, really this is a waste of time.
Ridiculous to waste time on making a video to tell people to make sure their chair is plugged in.

Stay in school kids! Study hard and make something of yourself so you don't end up like this guy.
there was no reason for a comment like that, the man is trying to help people who may not realize some simple fixes.
give this man an oscar
