Sir I want to ask a question, you said that before the elections of 1984, Indira Gandhi was killed and people gave majority of votes to congress party as they flew in sentiment, but weren't the people afraid that they were giving vote to a party whose PM was not able to save herself then how could they had given their lives in the hands of such a party?? Please reply
Back then It was the time when people trusted Congress party... And it was not indira gandhi's fault please kindly study the whole case!

In one constitutiency 25 percent vote secured by bjp and gain one seats
But another two places only 10 percentage vote secured by each more than others party and secured 2 seats and win
But the total no of vote gained by bjp is more than the congress but cngress gain more seats
Seats matter

First past the post :
The FIRST person who PASES (past) the the required criteria to win THE POST.
Here the first person will be the person who stands in the elections... Who ever gest the more votes that others.. Will win the post (position /being elected as representative)

1984.. first election expected in 1950, but the first general election held in October 1951 to February 1952. But reffer as 1952 election.

votes", right? Then why there was a coalition government in Karnataka in 2018 though BJP secured 104 seats(>congress(80 seats)> JDS(30 seats)).
