Ehhh, now we're moving outside the souls series if we're including every From Software title. You're opening yourself up to flying mechs and other vehicles and all of the crazy protagonists in their early dungeon crawlers and set protagonists in their action games.
I started playing Sekiro in preparation for Elden Ring to catch up on most Fromsoft games and have really enjoyed it so far. I really like the new aggressive deflection style combat and have been having a lot of fun with the change of pace and diff style from the Souls Trilogy. Just got past Genochiro and can’t wait to finish up the game and for Elden Ring to come out
He can breathe underwater, block bullets, block strikes from giant demons the size of buildings, deflect lighting, jump around and swing around like your friendly Sengoku Spiderman, and has infinite stamina. He's the most OP Fromsoft character for sure.
I would argue that the hunter of Bloodborne is more powerful with the arcane tools. Harnassing the power of the cosmos to create a small exploding star is something beyond anything the other protagonists do.

Only reason he doesn't is well... he's immortal. And yeah you can argue so are the other characters, but it's explicitely stated that Sekiro is immortal bc of Kuro's blood, not just bc of gameplay limitations/expectations.
If swimming ends up added to Edin Ring, it should be a light armor or no armor requirement since you're likely to drown if you try to swim in heavy or medium armor

My guy would body all other souls like protagonist. It honestly makes you appreciate how much work went into sekiro to make the game still insanely challenging 👌🏻
Armour's useless in Dark souls, it only takes a small chunk out of incoming damage. Despite all of these 'advantages', in combat Sekiro isn't much more agile. Similar movement speed, slightly better attacking speed, similar or shorter weapon range. You can fence (sword fight) better in Sekiro. The other souls games have a wider variety of ranged weapons and importantly magic though. The magic isn't very good (most of it's as or less effective than hitting someone with a sword, basically it sucks) but it could make a difference.

Also infinite stamina would literally break ds and sekiro is like 4 times faster when sprinting. Magic is a good point though, but you can deflect the shichimen warriors spell so idk why you wouldn't be able to deflect a soul spear. Also lighting spears would just get caught and thrown back lol
Sekiro also has no stamina so he can infinitely spam r1, not to mention he can jump too, deflect everything regardless of power (other than perilous attacks of course) and most important, he's immune to gravity (he just respawns in the nearer ledge)... and of course, he can revive, just because.
@@Lepoetism Sekiro can deflect bullets though, you can parry Snake Eyes rifle, as well as Ishin's handgun with proper timing, plus Sekiro can cancel most attacks mid animation to parry, so even with the gun parry, the hunter would have trouble against sekiro.
I feel they intentionally make every subsequent protagonist stronger than the last. However something that sets wolf apart from the rest is the ability to use the mortal blade which would prevent the chosen unread from resurrecting and possibly even wake the bloodborne hunter from the nightmare
You know what ?I think that thr lack of underwater dungeon is a missed opportunity in elden ring or underwater fights/boss . With special creatures to hop on . It would have been really nice Swimming would work well in that kind of game

Yup, when I saw Elden Ring gameplay, I knew. The classic endless pit at the edge of the water. Now we know that there won't be a water boss or water level. Just areas with watery death pits that you have to traverse.
They all wear heavy armor. He doesn't. I've yet to see Joe Sekiro wield two giant dragon's teeth as weapons while wearing a literal suit of boulders as armor, rolling and strafing, and performing combat maneuvers. Joe Sekiro is the little brother that wants to be part of the fun but his older brothers won't let him have any builds of his own.
You're misunderstanding everything. Sekiro doesn't need armor or a big chicken leg as weapon. He knows his potential about being unable to die, so armor is useless. And even if the other protagonist can use a 30 kg chicken leg weapon to hit him... what's the purpose? They wouldn't be able to hit him, not even a single hit. Wolf's speed surpases them for a lot, his reflexes too. As soon as the chosen undead or the bearer of the curse or the ashen one try to hit him with that 30kg chiken leg, he would already killed them with two death blows.
Dude's strong enough to parry a skyscraper sized sword wielded by a giant dragon with a tiny katana while being fast enough to outrun a horse. Not to mention he can run, dodge and attack indefinitely without stopping and can resurrect on the spot. He doesn't need any builds to survive. Ps. The hunter doesn't wear armor either
Chosen undead from DS 1 will never be out classed by any other protagonist from a souls like game. Can backstab you at any moment, wrath of gods, and has the easiest time parrying you, it's not fair......
Well for the record wolf is highly skilled shinobi who is trained ever since a cub weild a prosthetic arms with a tons of weapon while carrying the divine heirs blood alongside the mortal blade. The souls protagonist mostly some rotting corpse that found a sword yesterday and learn that rolling is the key to kill a god.
It's an interesting contest, though i think the Hunter wins, no weight limit and he can not only roll, but dash while wearing plates, and using the kirk hammer
None of the other protagonists had to fight soldier of Godrick, therefore the tarnished is the strongest character, not only in fromsoft, but in all of gaming, fiction even.
Lore-wise, from the strongest to the weakest: The Hunter > Ashen One > Bearer of the Curse => Chosen Undead > The Slayer of Demons > Sekiro. For now we don't know what the Elden Ring protagonist is capable of.

It would’ve been a cool little Easter egg if you could go into the water in Dark Souls but only if you took off all of your armour. And then you could swim to a secret location, like one of the arch trees where remnants of the ancient dragons were living.
I like that theyre starting to flesh out some of the things that have always been missing in Souls games like swimming, stealth, jumping/platforming, actual lips moving when NPCs speak, character customazation that doesnt look terrible, etc. Weve always loved the souls games for what they were and didnt care about things like that. But the fact that theyre now fleshing ot out is going to be game changing for them!
In the Network Test, the Blood Wolf could play through all the content with Starting Gear, a couple summons (Wolfpack, and Northern Warrior) Levels, and weapon upgrades. Maybe the leather shield. Other classes needed a lot of Health (Carian K***ht) or they could pick up the Ordovis set for basically the same playing style (Minus Thunderbolt. Until endgame, anyone could get the Bastard Sword of Thunderbolt/Sword Arch) Or the Lightning Nodachi\ (With frostbite) Plz Nerf. (\Soulsbornelden Katanas are mostly Nodachi, there was 1 Tachi, and an Uchigatana in the last episode. Also, that was the Network Test, Assassin had a Spear, and Staff in the DS3 Network Test. Also note: Fromsoft is a Japanese developer, and Katana is just Japanese for Sword.)
Wolf is the strongest souls protagonist because he can actually speak. There is no greater barrier than social anxiety, and Wolf overcame it

Armour's useless in Dark souls, it only takes a small chunk out of incoming damage. Despite all of these 'advantages', in combat Sekiro isn't much more agile. Similar movement speed, slightly better attacking speed, similar or shorter weapon range. You can fence (sword fight) better in Sekiro.
The other souls games have a wider variety of ranged weapons and importantly magic though. The magic isn't very good (most of it's as or less effective than hitting someone with a sword, basically it sucks) but it could make a difference.
@@7dayspking Armour can make a huge difference in Dark Souls though. Try fighting the the four kings with heavy armour and without any armour.

Also infinite stamina would literally break ds and sekiro is like 4 times faster when sprinting. Magic is a good point though, but you can deflect the shichimen warriors spell so idk why you wouldn't be able to deflect a soul spear. Also lighting spears would just get caught and thrown back lol
If the protagonists fought a free for all poor hunter would not only have to fight the others but he's demons too that only he can see.

Sekiro also has no stamina so he can infinitely spam r1, not to mention he can jump too, deflect everything regardless of power (other than perilous attacks of course) and most important, he's immune to gravity (he just respawns in the nearer ledge)... and of course, he can revive, just because.
Yes but he could be parried and the pyromancy with sorceries wouldn't be so njce with sekiro.
The Hunter only needs one bullet to stop Sekiro from spamming R1s.
@@Lepoetism Sekiro can deflect bullets though, you can parry Snake Eyes rifle, as well as Ishin's handgun with proper timing, plus Sekiro can cancel most attacks mid animation to parry, so even with the gun parry, the hunter would have trouble against sekiro.
Swimming is hard, especially when you're wearing a full set of plated armor.

I feel they intentionally make every subsequent protagonist stronger than the last. However something that sets wolf apart from the rest is the ability to use the mortal blade which would prevent the chosen unread from resurrecting and possibly even wake the bloodborne hunter from the nightmare
Gameplay and mechanic wise Sekiro is the strongest, lore wise he's actually the weakest.

I mean when you think about it, Soulsbourne characters and the Elden Ring protag can often be wearing heavy armour or carrying huge ass weapons, but Sekiro physically can't do either of those things, so it makes sense he'd be more likely to spend his learning how to swim and be extra mobile, the rest are probably too busy working out
Have you ever seen Sekiro try to wear heavy armor or use a massive weapon? Maybe he'd have no problem with it. A buddy of mine saw Sekiro take of his shirt and he said Sekiro had an eight-pack, that Sekiro was shredded.

Yup, when I saw Elden Ring gameplay, I knew. The classic endless pit at the edge of the water. Now we know that there won't be a water boss or water level. Just areas with watery death pits that you have to traverse.

You're misunderstanding everything.
Sekiro doesn't need armor or a big chicken leg as weapon.
He knows his potential about being unable to die, so armor is useless.
And even if the other protagonist can use a 30 kg chicken leg weapon to hit him... what's the purpose? They wouldn't be able to hit him, not even a single hit. Wolf's speed surpases them for a lot, his reflexes too. As soon as the chosen undead or the bearer of the curse or the ashen one try to hit him with that 30kg chiken leg, he would already killed them with two death blows.
Dude's strong enough to parry a skyscraper sized sword wielded by a giant dragon with a tiny katana while being fast enough to outrun a horse. Not to mention he can run, dodge and attack indefinitely without stopping and can resurrect on the spot. He doesn't need any builds to survive.
Ps. The hunter doesn't wear armor either

Tbh this was one the few disappointing aspects of Elden Ring for me.
I'll be honest, I have yet to play Seikiro and was half expecting some giant koi to come up from out of nowhere and eat him.
None of the other protagonists had to fight soldier of Godrick, therefore the tarnished is the strongest character, not only in fromsoft, but in all of gaming, fiction even.
Lore-wise, from the strongest to the weakest: The Hunter > Ashen One > Bearer of the Curse => Chosen Undead > The Slayer of Demons > Sekiro.
For now we don't know what the Elden Ring protagonist is capable of.
i dont think the Hunter is the weakest like....have you seen some of the things (he? i think canonically all soulborne protagonist are all male) has to fight? like just the great ones put to shame most lords of cinder and the Hunter fights in light armor because normal beast can pretty much ignore heavy armor

I like that theyre starting to flesh out some of the things that have always been missing in Souls games like swimming, stealth, jumping/platforming, actual lips moving when NPCs speak, character customazation that doesnt look terrible, etc.
Weve always loved the souls games for what they were and didnt care about things like that. But the fact that theyre now fleshing ot out is going to be game changing for them!

I'm actually kinda disappointed Elden Ring isn't gonna have Sekiro's swimming cause that shit was actually one of my favorite things to do in Sekiro.
In the Network Test, the Blood Wolf could play through all the content with Starting Gear, a couple summons (Wolfpack, and Northern Warrior) Levels, and weapon upgrades. Maybe the leather shield. Other classes needed a lot of Health (Carian K***ht) or they could pick up the Ordovis set for basically the same playing style (Minus Thunderbolt. Until endgame, anyone could get the Bastard Sword of Thunderbolt/Sword Arch) Or the Lightning Nodachi\ (With frostbite)

(\Soulsbornelden Katanas are mostly Nodachi, there was 1 Tachi, and an Uchigatana in the last episode. Also, that was the Network Test, Assassin had a Spear, and Staff in the DS3 Network Test. Also note: Fromsoft is a Japanese developer, and Katana is just Japanese for Sword.)
