Showmanship, working the crowd, movement, a killer sound, a cockiness that comes from knowing how good they are and god how they can rock! What a performance.
This performance shows how much confidence The Hives have gotten over the years. In more recent live shows, these guys have more power and acting due to more confidence.
most people. maybe not super fans of hardcore punk, but who cares. It's close enough to sound like the people who played punk music before the term "punk" was used for it. Your question is sarcastic, but doesn't hold any weight.
this was the hives first ever live performance on the jools show :) just a few months after americas tragedy with 9/11 :( but hey at least we got to rock out in celebration of freedom and justice , so thats good :)
+rike94 Because it was an important tragic event in the worlds history, this music from the Hives was an answer to that tragedy, in times of distress and riots and wars and terrorism, you need some hope and rock n roll music is one way to express that distress and great distrust in the world
USA has done a million 9/11s......you dont even have native people there much anymore.....where the fuck did the sioux and cherokee go? Or ye...crushed under a jackboot
+Anthony Ricci Yes... Because you don't like a majority of the popular music that is being made music is suffering... Not just pop-music is suffering, but the whole of music is suffering because you don't like the popular music that is being made. That is severely self-centered.
strokes are still here, hope those mofos release new stuff in 2017, muse EP coming soon, rock is nearly dead, we still have couple of good bands here but its getting smaller and smaller

That bass is like the dessert of the song.
Saw them Live in Norwich this week. Even better. the quality of the set and sound was face melting. One of the best live acts going!
The first time i've ever seen a jools audience respond to a band...
Thats how you know there good
Chk Franz Fern fern fernidand.
It’s cos they’re not Tory supporters.
This performance shows how much confidence The Hives have gotten over the years. In more recent live shows, these guys have more power and acting due to more confidence.
whoever sound engineered this needs a medal
I saw The Hives at Hyde Park last year and they were seriously amazing, the singer jumped into the crowd and High fived me. Great great band,.
Sound of my youth. Brings back so many memories, they were amazing at Reading festival in 2002.
Absolutely fantabulous.
Ive been to a lot of gigs, but these guys were on a different level.....they put in so much energy!
certainly one of the better live performances on jools!
Fantastic performance from a truly magnificent band.

white stripes outdid them with fell in love with a girl/lets shake hands
you can only play the bassline break correctly if you make that face
Seldom has there been a band with as much ATTITUDE as these guys
2001??? Damn.... I was 13 when I got this album. Still love them.
I was 16 in 2001
his voice is so much stronger now!
The Hives are not the punk you want, but theyre the punk you deserve.
I think it's the other way around.
Talk Show Host Why does everyone always fuck this sentence up?
most people. maybe not super fans of hardcore punk, but who cares. It's close enough to sound like the people who played punk music before the term "punk" was used for it. Your question is sarcastic, but doesn't hold any weight.
Startervisions, I agree with you. I would characterise the Hives, IMO of course, as Garage Rock.
@Ynnnoj V You sound like the biggest poser of all
I like how pedro infante plays the bass! He nailed it

+Sonic Jet fuck 9/11, you only care about that, the world had a lot of tragedies even worse
It’s like a sonic tidal wave to the face and brain
Impressive shirt and tie coordination
"The" invasion needs to happen again. Music is suffering badly.
+Anthony Ricci Yes... Because you don't like a majority of the popular music that is being made music is suffering... Not just pop-music is suffering, but the whole of music is suffering because you don't like the popular music that is being made. That is severely self-centered.
lotsofotherstuff None of that made sense.

HELL YES DUDE
strokes are still here, hope those mofos release new stuff in 2017, muse EP coming soon, rock is nearly dead, we still have couple of good bands here but its getting smaller and smaller
I would have only supported a Clockwork Orange remake back in the day if Pelle played Alex
Feels like the song is costantly falling apart.
Have this lot ever toured with Electric 6? If not, why not?! :)
The Blood Of Dedication
Very undertones
There are dislikes on this video? Are you serious?
Most likely fans of cheesy pop music
What's this then?
