- Warfaze, arguably one of the best rock band Bangladesh has ever produced, have produced eight albums in their 33-year-long glamorous career and made millions of fans around the world.
But the journey was not smooth and Warfaze has had many ups and downs and faced the challenges of numerous changes in the line up. They survived and managed to produce quality music for its fans.
They were also the trailblazers of progressive rock music in Bangladesh during the mid 80s and the band's key member Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu has a lot of stories to share. Why they stood against the trend and chose a genre of music new for Bangladeshi listeners? How they stuck to the belief and after all these years, have they reached their dreams?

I was 15 when first heard Warfaze - Obaak Valobasha and it was year '95. Believe me I was not allowed to listen Warfaze loudly even if my room. Anyway, it was like different tune from another world true hard rock based and composition to hear in that particular time. Coming to the point that when Mizan came to the band I was missing Sanjoy so badly that made me Mizan haters. But after few years when I found Shotto album man! Mizan was mature enough to sing those songs and filled up Sanjoys position. Now, people are saying like Polash is not that good cause the tune that Mizan set still in the air. We all are looking for that tune to test the hard rock vocals. So please be patience if Polash can stay for 1~2 more years then people will start to take his vocal too. I am 100% sure about this. Cause, Warfaze is not just a band it's the feelings that we carried from 90's. It's like an institute to create real hard rock vocals. Peace.
Mizan's content in Alo was better than in Shotyo IMO. But the vocal that took the maximum abuse is Balam bhai. First when he was in the band cause he wasn't Sunjoy, and then after he left because how dare he leave and make his own career

আমি স্কুলে থাকতে ফিলিংস, মাইলস্, এল আর বি, আর্ক,রেনেসাঁ,সোলসের গান শুনতাম বেশি। কিন্তু আলো কেনার পর থেকে ওয়ারফেজের ভক্ত হয়ে গেছি।খুব মিস করি আগের ব্যান্ডের গোল্ডেন সময়কে। তবে আশা করি অনলাইনে নতুন এলবাম পাব।

হ্যাঁ ঠিক বলেছেন। ব্যানড সংগীত যেনো আগের সেই সোনালী দিন ফিরে পায় এ জন্য ব্যানড সংগীতকে আমাদের সমর্থন করে যেতে হবে।অনেক ভালোবাসি ব্যানড সংগীতকে।আমরা চাই আমাদের প্রিয় ব্যানডগুলো যেমন মাইলস,সোলস,ফিডব্যাক, উইনিং, ডিফরেনট টাচ, এল.আর.বি,নগর বাউল, ওয়ারফেজ, বে্লাক, অর্থহীন, শূন্য, ক্রীপটিক ফেইট, আর্টসেল সহ সকল পুরোনো এবং নতুন ব্যানড আবারও রক, গান দিয়ে তরুণ প্রজন্মের হৃদয়ে ঝড় তুলুক।আমরা এটাই চাই। এজন্য আমাদের ভক্তদের উজ্জীবিত করতে হবে ব্যানড শীলপিদের। অনেক ভালোবাসি রক জনরাকে অনেক, অনেক, অনেক, অনেক, অনেক,অনেক, অনেক, অনেক, অনেক, অনেক বোঝাতে পারবো না কতটা ভালোবাসি এই ব্যানড সংগীত আর রক জনরাকে।ধন্যবাদ মি. সণজীব আপনাকে ব্যানড সংগীতের পাশে থাকার জন্য।
It was 1991. I was in class VII and a student of Faujdarhat Cadet College in Chittagong. In one fine evening, just before a culture program of some sort, "Ekti Cheley" was played in our college auditorium. I was simply blown away by the song, its music, and the tune...that night I had a little debate with my friend Faruk...."no way man, that's a freaking English metal song. We didn't get the lyrics". I was wrong as F. And then I fell in love with Warfaze, over and over again.

80's & 90's are great time for rock music, Bangladeshi students were most influenced by west music by the music center of Rainbow at elephant road. so it was not hard for warfaze to catch the public attention. at that time we were young guys.

৯০ এর দশক থেকে শুনছি,আজও পাশে আছি,মিজান ভাইকে খুব মিস করছি।
আমি ২০১৬ থেকে শুনি। মিজান ভাইকে তেমন জানতাম না। বুঝতাম না সবাই এত মিজান মিজান করে কেন। এখন বুঝতেছি মিজান ভাই আসলে ওয়ারফেইজের জন্য কি ছিল !
মিজান ভাই লিভ নেওয়ার পরেও ওয়ারফেইজে আবার ব্যাক করার চান্স ছিল কারন মিজান ভাই এর আগেও কয়েকবার লিভ নিছিলো। কিন্তু এইবার মিজান ভাইএর ব্যাক করার পসিবিলিটি ১% এর থেকে কম। কারন পাবলিকিলি মিজান ভাই টিপু ভাই এবং ওয়ারফেইজ সম্পর্কে অনেক নেগেটিভ কথা বলছে।তার উপর ওয়ারফেইজের নতুন এ্যালবামের কাজ চলতেছে। সুতরাং মিজান ভাইকে হয়ত আর ওয়ারফেইজে দেখবো না।।
তাদের মধ্যে কি হইছে না হইছে সেইটা পাবলিকেলি আনার কোন দরকার ছিল না। মিজান ভাই যদি ওইসব কথা না বলতো তাহলে হয়ত কোন একদিন আবারো ওয়ারফেইজে মিজান ভাইকে দেখতে পারতাম। মিজান ভাই আমাদের বঞ্চিত করলেন । তারপরেও একবারের জন্য হলেও মিজান ভাইকে আবারো ওয়ারফেইজের সাথে দেখতে আমার খুব ইচ্ছা , সাথে অনি ভাইও থাকবে। আই লাভ ইউ মিজান ভাই।

As tipu bhai mentioned that every albums is like a child to him & Alo is the best album so far...Being a warfaze fan it’s really tough to choose which album is the best, first album was special since u know it has such a bunch of good songs like bose ache, ekti chele, becchno abeg, koishor & all.. pathchola has an impact on our generation cz it rejuvenated all the songs, our generation got to know these songs through this album, Alo album was very good, never the less Obak valobasha album is the best among these albums in my opinion...I think all the songs of the album is very unique & lyrics wise, composition wise this album is up to the mark... it was a totally different type & taste of music at time... and if u come to individual songs then obak valobasha & nirbashon are the best songs of warfaze... so yeah I would say obak valobasha is the best
