First ever demo had Musical Fidelity MC4s, Spendor SP2/2s, Rogers LS7ts, Rogers LS3/5as. The MC4s and LS7ts were rejected as clearly they were in an inferior 'class' of speaker. The SP2/2s were incredibly good, but I bought some LS3/5as in the end with my BBC staff discount. Stuck with LS3/5as and now 40 years later I have Stirling Broadcast V3 LS3/5as with their AB-2 bass extenders, both also designed by Derek Hughes. Also had Cicable external LS3/5a croosvers designed by Derek, and he fixed my Rogers E40a amplifier, which might possibly have been assembled by his daughtor or son-in-law when working at AudioNote. Small world.
Instead at the corner, left speaker should reposition to have a better sound. You probably need to shift the racks and shelf due to constraint of cable.
Re: DOT 2 to return flexibity to surround. I just bought CaiKleen RBR rubber cleaner and rejuvenator from Parts Express. Applied to Ditton 10 (second series) woofer surround. After leaving speaker on back to soak in.. then playing for couple hours at low volume.. it seemed to slightly increase the bass response.. and enable a little higher volume before sounding congested. I wonder about the spyder losing flexability over the years too. Water soluable caulk may be diluted with water 50% and lightly brushed on speaker cloth surrounds to make airtight again and restore some flexibility.... at your own risk. Audiokarma has a long thread discussing pros & cons of various surround treatments. Thanks for posting video.
@Dynaco Man. Thanks for suggesting some alternative products 👍 I love Ditton 10 15ohm, I’ve had and repaired several. The Spendor’s work perfectly now. I was able to A/B test with Spendor SP2 MK1’s, using their bass response as a reference to check if my “Brake Fluid” trick worked.. I think it did, the SP2/2’s sound fantastic 👍
I've used silicon spray (applied with a q tip) on some hardened (semi hardened) surrounds. They had gone a little brown and the beginning of cracks were showing. After the spray had worked in they bass response improved a lot and they were black again.

Derek Hughes first Spendor's were the S100's.
No, Derek’s first design was the SP2.

i thought the dot 4 brake fluid would lossen the adheasive with surrounds to the cone ❓
also isn't the BC2 better than BC1 ❓
