    A very pleasant and enjoyable video - thank you.As a retired Oxford Prof - Early Medieval History, but now living far away, I enjoy an occasional walk around my old town, and where better than Blackwell`s Bookshop.
    I have been buying books from Blackwell`s for over fifty years, and still do so, as they offer a very good and reliable International delivery service, and their prices are always competitive, with many academic titles I could simply not obtain locally.
    Thank you once again, and oh yes, Seasons Greetings :)

      Blackwell’s bookshop has become my favourite bookshop that I have visited. Indeed, it offers a great variety of books .
      Merry Christmas Mr Torleon

      I did my DPhil at Oxford many years ago, then moved away. I also enjoy watching videos like this and virtually revisiting some of my old haunts.

    I visited Oxford once many years ago. It is one of those places that never leaves your mind, especially for an avid reader like me. I’m from the US and dream of returning to explore again! Thank you for sharing this beautiful place.

      It’s such a magical place. This was my second time visiting and it was so lovely! I love places with history and walking around Oxford felt like going back in time. I definitely daydreamed about being a student there as I walked the streets haha
      Thank you for your lovely comment :) 💖

      The one I went in Spain wasn’t definitely as beautiful or as old as Oxford :)

      @@tiaanneatherway ahh I’m glad you enjoyed it so much!
      I still haven’t finished it. I’m a bit more than half way but I am loving it too!
      It does feel as if I would be studying there myself or reading a History book.
      Also, I am bilingual (Spanish and English) and I so relate to the meaning of ‘lost in translation’.
      I can’t wait to finish it now haha
      Would you recommend another book with similar vibes? :)

      @tiaanneatherway Před 6 měsíci

      @@readinginthecountryside ohh it would be so interesting to read being bilingual - unfortunately I am only fluent in english, though reading this made me want to change that even more than previously! I, too, am currently on a search for a book with similar vibes, but for Oxford-based-historical-fiction I highly recommend 'the dictionary of lost words' and 'the bookbinder of jericho' by pip williams. I adore both books so much (honestly just any books about books/words are my favourites), although for bookbinding x fantasy x historical fiction, 'the binding' by bridget collins is also really good if you've not read it :) (so sorry for the late reply haha)

      Yes, ‘The Binding’ is a good book, I really enjoyed it.
      I have recently read ‘The Starless Sea’ about books, storytelling and Libraries. It was such a beautiful book. I highly recommend it if you haven’t read it yet :)
