I am a burn survivor as well, and my breaking point was when i realized i could be more physically strong and fit that I was before being injured. so i started training. i am going running in a couple of minutes.
I'm so happy with the way she turned out. I was just in a flash fire July 3rd and I feel like I look scary..i burned 36% of my body. Legs, arms and face. Luckily my face took the least amount of damage and it's healing up fast and no scars so far. My legs and arms were 2nd and 3rd degree..It's the most painful thing I've ever been through. I thought the hospital would just give me pain killers then wrap me up and send me on my way..I had to get shipped to a hospital that had a burn unit. They clean and deburr you. Deburring was absolutely the most painful part. They scrub you turn with slightly abrasive rags or pads, but it feels like they're just using sandpaper and they're just ripping all the dead skin off. I spent a few days in the hospital and now I'm recovering at home. I lost my ability to walk because it's just way too painful when the blood rushes back to my calves. It's be a painful journey and I don't think I was burned as bad as her. So I just can't imagine the pain she went through.
Hey, how are you doing now? I got 2nd degree burns on almost all of my left hand after accidentally scalding myself recently (19th July). I had to have all of the burned skin deroofed at a burns unit in another city. The pain was unbearable the night my accident happened, the only thing that could provide me any relief was keeping it under cool running water and I was doing that on-and-off for 8hrs straight, I even had to try sleeping with a pot of cold water on a chair next to my bed with my hand in it (eventually went to the hospital at 2am in the morning). Obviously my injury is nowhere near as bad as yours, like you said I honestly can't imagine the pain and horror that people with worse burns have been through.. I hope you're recovering well x
@@JaneDoe-ck8wlI'm recovering well..I finally got out of the pain stage last week.. The itch is insane though..I find myself scratching in the middle of the night and causing blisters.. But the worst of it is over..They told be a whole year before my burns can be in sunlight.. have to keep them covered or use spf30..Definitely been a tough recovery
@@that1guy0219 Glad you're doing better. I can't imagine what it must be like, I feel very fortunate I didn't need any more pain relief soon after and it doesn't itch either. Thinking of you, you're strong enough to get through this!
@@user-fe5rx2xz9h I'm doing a lot better! I no longer keep my burns covered. They are still really red and crazy itchy but the worst of it is over and I'm back to work. Still can't be in the sun for a whole year without being covered
I am a burn victim and just a month ago I was burned from boiling oil and 20% of my body was burned. This made me so happy because im just starting to heal and im learning to love my scars. This makes me feel like im more than just a burn victim. 😊

This is such a fantastic on going story line to a young girl who faced such a horrible tragedy. What a brave and strong young girl/woman. I wish her all the best for the rest of her life.
