- An MPC and drum breaks go hand in hand, and there are a ton of ways to chop and rearrange drums. In this video we are looking at ways to add some of your own style to break chops with non-linear performance and sample layering. I have seen your comments asking for more videos on the MPC 1000, so here you go!
For this beat, I used the MPC 1000 as the standalone tool to flip the samples, including drums and melodies.
I hope you enjoy this workflow, and the sample based beat, and I hope the video provides some inspiration for your own production. I will be in the comments, so let me know what you want to see in a future video!

The snare roll is exactly the kind of thing that makes the drums sounds really smooth. Just great🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate that man, thank you!
Holly ghost notes 👻 love where you took the drums on this one
Appreciate that, thank you!
Beatmakers of the world…
NEVER SELL YOUR 1000.
I did it in ‘08 (cuz ‘08) and, I regret it to this day.
Is the MPC1000 sound unique? Aren’t all MPCs workflow more or less the same? I have a MPC Studio black but there’s a MPC1000 near me for sale which I’ve thought about buying if it’s more less the same workflow to get beats working why not just the studio?
@@Nenga117 I think the modern MPCs have a workflow that is easier to learn. I know your Studio Black (that's a controller) that only works with a PC. The Mpc 1000 is a standalone machine and you have to work your way into it. JJOSXL is mandatory in connection with the mpc1000. The sound is different in my opinion. The drums hit harder on the mpc 1000 and even harder on an mpc2000
@@Nenga117 it’s got WAY more limitations than the new ones. Imo- limitations are your best friend. I use the 303 and not the 404 for this reason too. That’s just me. The 303 and the 1,000 got one thing in common tho-
Good luck messing up your drums. Like, let me know if and when that happens, it’ll be a first 😂💯✌️
@@kamikaze6295 Exactly. They both hit hard as a MF.
Definitely picking up some Alchemist vibes from this one! This probably one of my favourite vids. Thank you 🙏
Thank you!!
WOW,... I never used an MPC like that. Freaking awesome. That's why I subcribed long ago. You're a beast.
Thank you for the support man, appreciate it!
Oh yea. These are the type of drums I make. On the 7th bar I’d add a nice fat Tom roll. Great to see you again Ryan. See you soon
Thank you bro, appreciate the positive vibes as always my man. Hope all is well!
bro 🔥
Another cracking beat and video. You really nailed this one. Great jazz sample too. Thanks Ryan.
Dope 💥 love the 1000

Nicely done 👊
Really nice, Ryan. Thank you so much.
Thanks David, appreciate you as always man!
Fresh as beat G
Man, you are incredible, brother. Such a dope track. Smooth as silk. I love using the MPC 1000 emulator with Air Flavor Pro on the One. It’s not exact, but pretty close. Another great vid and beat. Keep up the great work, fam!
Appreciate you Flames, I gotta try out the flavor plugin for sure!!
Fire.
Appreciate you!!
Flames, cuzzo. Flames. 🔥🎷🥁 salut
Thank you bro, appreciate the support!
More videos on the mpc 1000 please, Beat MPC
Plz , show us sometime how you chop your samples on mpc one , and how you time stretch your cutz to match you bpm. So not a sample loop but those cutz.
what jjos version is this you're using? loving the work on the channel! keep it up!
Thank you! I think I was using JJOS 3 on this. I switch between 2XL and 3
And where can you find that battery?
What the turntable u use in production ?
The 1k hits harder than the new MPC’s. You can find them pretty cheap if you look.
Wow- love the approach man, this was very insightful!
