- A run down on all the steps we take prior to casting off on a weekend getaway on our boat Happy Ours, a 2006 341 Meridian Sport Bridge with twin 6.2 Mercruiser inboard motors.
We check all the fluids, test run the engines and generator, test the water and air condition systems, prep the boat and pack all we need for the Labor Day weekend out on the water in SW Florida!
Awesome video
The beer fridge. It would be my best friend.
Oh hey guys. Got to take our boat out with a captain yesterday, our wedding anniversary. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽we're going to love it. Hope to see yawll around out there. I'll wave, lololo. Keep the content coming. We learn a lot from yawll, thanks.
Another great video, thanks
Thanks again!
We definitely need help planning and prepping!😅 It's enough to get down the Illinois, Ohio and Tennessee rivers! But to prep for a hurricane? Can't imagine but we may have to so thanks for sharing!!❤
Excellent, let's go.
very informative, and shows how much work is involved in getting it ready
That was good. Thanks from rainy, raw, 56 degree CT as we enviously watch this evening. Boat does look good, your attention to it shows well.
Thank you. We don’t miss the weather up north!
It’s like being an engineer
Couple inflatable beach balls or right sized bouncy balls under the dinghy tarp will give you a rain hump so water doesn’t pool on the tarp.
Great idea! Thanks!
SHe’s a beauty! Safe travels!
If the hot water heater is plumbed to the stud engine it will run warmer always. Nice pre check I’m guilty of doing none of that except check the bilge for fumes
I considered plumbing the motor to the hot water heater. Just not high on the priority atm. The water stays warm for a long time once heated plus we often take cool showers with all those florida sun! Cheers!
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs what I mean is typically whatever engine the water heater in plumbed to it will run warmer you said that the stbd engine is warmer but the water heater you said is not hooked to an engine. And yes Florida sun is hot cool shower before bed nice. Just found your channel you guys are alright. Kudos to you for the solo part of your trip And then Ian. Just devastating. Glad to see you have picked up the pieces as they say Are you full time in Fla? And I know I saw your oat being lifted out as news footage or something Eire to see it was you guys
Hello magnifique bateau ⛵
Greatly enjoyed that video. I just got home from the marina, but my admiral is on a flight down to Florida (parent illnesses), so we are not heading out today. BUT, as our next leg is from AL to FL, you answered my question of whether I should leave my isinglass up once we get in the heat and sun or not. We have been docking under cover for three years, so I will miss the sun and rain protection of the roof over the boat (I won't miss the spider droppings however). See you in November!
Your boats looking good. I hate those mini refrigerators. We always bring a big cooler full of ice along with us as well. Also drain some of the freshwater out of the boat to cut back on weight if were only going for a couple days. Have fun guys!
Thanks. Hard to see in video but she needs a really good compound&wax. I’ve been too busy on other boat projects.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs I thought she looked nice and shiny. I love the sound of those engines. My diesels just don't have that bad ass rumble.
Great Video, always good to see others pregame warmup! How often do you have to clean you strainers down there? Do your engines have strainers or just Genset and AC?
The engines have strainers too. They rarely get clogged. I check them every few days when under way.
Hey Tom is your boat 38ft?..Cause since watching your videos me and the wife have been looking at Meridians since are kids are grown up and married we got rid of our sailboat and my 42 Carver and were looking for something like what yall have for just the two of us and we really like the Meridian 381.
It’s a 341 Meridian. Overall length is about 36’ with pulpit and all.
You guys have a beautiful boat, and thru your good care, should last a long time.
Is your boat back to ship shape after last year? Or is this older footage? Hope all is well.
We’re back to ship shape! The only ongoing struggle is keeping the bottom clean!
Did you get rid of the big boat for the little one?
No. We have both.
what was the problem with the engine was it a head gasket or not
Exhaust manifold. There is a video on that too.
those seem to be gasoline engines, why have you not ran your blowers before starting?
I’m sure they were running. I always run them before starting.
What breed is Matey? Mutt or pure breed?
Matey is a mini Australian shepherd. Purebred as minis can come. Lol
How to prep a boat one handed. 😂
Can’t live on hot dogs and hamburgers...
Hello cap. I had new Mercruicer engines before they are so mutch work to maintain and they rust because there always little water in the bilge left, we i had Yamaha Outboard the mainis much easier and comfortable to work on i know you dont have a choice on your boat but if yoe ever look for a big cruiser look for the one with Outboard on you will be mutch happier since you have other things to worry about like having your haul clean, happy boating cap.👍⚓️🔩
You’ll be quite happy then with our next boat. Big reveal coming soon!
@AdventuresofHappyOurs awesome cap. I will be waiting
