I think NJT needs to replace the old diesel fleet with new Stadler FLIRT Battery Electric or Hydrogen trains. This would involve extending the Catenary to Lindenwold, adding a second platform at Cherry Hill and walkway to Garden State Park, adding charging stations at Atlantic City Terminal and building a new maintenance facility near Atlantic city. They would also increase the frequency of trains to 1 train an hour on a clockface schedule, and add more passing sidings.

Not a bad idea. But I would keep the GP40's for many reasons.
      A. THEY SOUND AND LOOK GREAT
      B. Ol' Reliable.
      C. Tested for like 60 years
      D. Cheep

@@ItzTrains_Productions the push pull trains with the old locomotives are powered by diesel, which emits a lot of fumes and don't even meet tier 4 standards. And the single level cars are old as well. They run the oldest fleet on this line compared to the other New jersey Transit lines. I think the Stadler Flirt or Stadler Kiss battery electric trains would be lighter weight, faster, and more efficient, and less probe to break down. Plus they have full width cabs for the engineer that are also airconditioned in the summer, and have heat in the winter. And they are quiet as well.
