Falafel is my favourite player and commentator. I even play a bit better after I watch the games he is involved in. As for the game, i find it a bit nervous, but interesting
It wasn't even a thousand to one shot. After Petko plays his double 4s (Bar/17, 20/12), as you pointed out, if Didler rolls a one, double 6s do indeed save the gammon. The odds of Didler rolling a 1 (but not double 1s) are 10/36. The odds of Petko rolling double sixes are, of course, 1/36. The odds of BOTH happening is the probability of these two independent events. 10/36 x 1/36 = 10/1,296 which reduces to 1/129.6. So it was slightly less than a 130 to 1 shot. And yes, he should have realized this and gone for it.
1:01:30 I knew he played the 1/2 badly I would have moved the 99 to 8/7 A few moves down the road and now he is in trouble And this is the BG final ?!?!? Amateurs!
It took Petko less tan a second to accept 4 doubles - very unprofessional, especially when Assaraf did not get caught by none of Petkos dbles after spending tons of time and thorough calculations.
I bet many people will disagree. I enjoy his matches and also his commentary very much. I hope for Mike/Falafel that he will feel better soon. Sending good energy...
ArturasDzeikas You are new to backgammon aren't you? The commentary, when it finally begins, is by a former World Number 1 ranked player, who is currently in the top three or five players in the world, and is most likely the game's all time money winner. Your comment is a bit like watching a chess match and stating how annoyed you are by some guy named Carlsen saying what moves he would make. If you don't want to learn from a master, turn the sound off.

* First Game starts at 18:38
Very fine FULL live video + sounds in the Salle d'or
The person responsible for this stream should really have a look at how the Danes at the Nordic Open broadcast their streams. Different class...
32:23 falafal starts. And its hilarious
Note: match starts at about 18 mins, commentary about 22 - someone was asleep!
Silence is preferable to this commentary

XG is not the bible !
Fun to watch.. up until the 10 minute cube decision
out of focus! what's the problem???
Correction on my part. Double sixes would not save the gammon. My bad, lol. What a match though!
Rick Gardner double 6s actually do save the gamon after Bar/8 , 5/13
@@jiffypoops ... only if black rolls a 1 !

Thanks a lot:) pretty decent..
That was awesome! Thousand to one shot on that last roll to save the gammon with double sixes if Didier rolls a one, so why not go for it?

Amateurs!
Sloppy play, especially from Didier.
Too annoying with all the background conversations. Commentator talks way too much.
Ö
Match beginning: 00:18:40. Boring match!
A game for kids
It took Petko less tan a second to accept 4 doubles - very unprofessional, especially when Assaraf did not get caught by none of Petkos dbles after spending tons of time and thorough calculations.
He was thinking of his response while his opponent was considering whether to double. That he didn't need additional time is not unprofessional.
Am I the only one who thinks that Falafel is a rather bad commentator?
Takes a while to get used to his voice .. then he's actually quite witty ..
I bet many people will disagree. I enjoy his matches and also his commentary very much. I hope for Mike/Falafel that he will feel better soon. Sending good energy...
Do you know what the latest news on Falafel is ?
Great game, very amateur commentating. "I would do this" "I would do that" NO ONE cares what you would do since its not you who's playing.
Cannot be "amateur commentating" if it comes from a champion like Falafel....
