I love that this book ‘haul’ isn’t you unpacking a box of twenty books you bought online this week, but instead the books you’ve bought since 2022 started. I feel like those massive book hauls promote unhealthy consumerism and are also just simply not realistic. This feels much more fun and healthy!

You talking about true trope of a “grumpy middle-aged man who is forced to take care of a child” made me think about a film I recently saw called Summerland. it’s not about a grump man though, the grumpy one in this story is a woman who is made to take care of a child, and it’s a really sweet story about how their relationship unfolds. I would highly recommend watching it 😊

Sayaka Murata has become quite popular in recent years, with one of her books Convenience Store Woman. Earthlings is one of my favorite books of all time, but it can be a very heavy read.
Travelling Cat Chronicles is a bittersweet read. The cat has his own POV!
