Suggest you add a push button switch, built into the handle. Yoy can switch on and off the iron only when in use. This will prevent the charger from overheating.

Nice work. But there is a very dangerous drawback that you are actually supplying the current/voltage to a componet that you are soldering. When you touch the component your hand makes the loop closed for the supply that you are providing while you soldering a component. Very sensitive devices may be gets damaged. Because there is NO ELECTRICAL ISOLATION between the component you are soldering and the soldering iron...

Yes Amith Kumar, I fully agree with you. You have caught the right point of weakness. Yes the soldering iron is great, but there should be isolation of electricity contacting the component we solder. Amith is right. So instead of using the resistor to do the soldering, we must use the soldering iron tip and push the component inside it so that, it would make a perfect non damaging soldering iron, since it would keep away direct contact out or still better would be diesel car's glow plug. Correct me if and where I am wrong Amith please, since I am not that much professional in electricity.
