Keep sailing while you can. Youth and health is in your favor right now. The sailing-craft setup you three did provides a good sense of what is physically needed to prepare for sailing the open sea in a new rig. Impressive.
Saw you doing a wire joint with shrink wrap and thought I'd give up my secret. I've got a little trick that I've used for years whenever doing a wire joint whether it's soldered and shrink wrapped or you use a butt connecter, it's the same. With a butt connecter, you fill it with silicone then crimp it on, done, or you can add shrink wrap. With soldered ends and shrink wrap, you slide the shrink wrap on, solder the ends together, apply silicone, slide the shrink wrap over the joint and heat. The silicone will squeeze out and water will never ever get in. Just make sure you don't get any silicone on where you have to solder before you solder or it won't work. This method has been tested on my motorcycles and sailboats for years now. It works!

Two "hold-my-breathe" moments were when LoriSue was hoisted up & into the water; & then when the mast got hauled up & into place! Then, I cried too with Sierra! You both deserve this wonderful adventure & not any conventional land locked home mortgage! You have both worked hard and long hours and now need to reap the rewards for your patience! Wow a new boat they come cheap ! You guys should be very proud what you have accomplished, I know the wait had to be hard and discouraging at times but the wait is worth it, congratulations! You can’t never give up, staying positive is hard but you did it. Questioning your self is normal, we all do it. But perseverance pays off !

I am so pleased for you both at what you have achieved since I started watching you back in what must have been about 2014 on your Trawler Never-ending, one particular event that I will never forget on your travels on your boats was when you lost Jetty overboard on a reef and the fear and sadness when you thought you had lost her, but that was not to be when you found here safe and sound along the shore line safe and sound none the worse for her adventure, in the early days I actually used to think she was called Jenny. 😅
