what I love about R&Y is that they re so humble and always have fun in each competition. just dance and feels nothing to lose. they have positive attitude as a competitor. such a great role model :)

The judjes look at all of them overall and if a couple catches their eye (that's why the dresses, hair, makeup, etc. Is important) they look at their footwork

I think the women, in particular, in the top five in the world are some of the best I have ever seen; and, I know what I am looking at. Three of them are in this final. However, Marina Sergeeva is by far the stand out.

in ballroom, couples have routines that they stick to for all competitions although they might just change a step here and there
All of them do. If you follow any given couple, you will see familiar routines delivered by them to different music - which makes it seem like new.

the moment Andra is dancing right in front of her ex-partner and WDC still tries to tell people that it´s less corruptive than WDSF....
Anna Melnikova danced in front of Slavik when he was judging and so many others have done the same. Dancers change partners, they also judge competitions former partners dance in. This is not a unique situation.

No it is not, but it was at the exact moment at which the reporter talked about maurizio at that was pretty weird
I just tried to ignore his voice. I find it annoying when they talk through the videos like that. Sometimes it comes off as pushing their favorites and showing their personal biases. I can understand what I'm seeing I don't need commentary of it.
Did you look at the scores? Maurizio's scores are in line with the other judges. Plus, there were 17 judges. This makes it pretty much impossible for any one judge to influence the outcome. Scores are available at scrutelle.info.
I said that Maurizio's scores were in-line with the other judges. There were other judges that placed N & A second in all dances. And judges (Bryan Watson, for example ) that placed them lower.
Somebody should shut this guy's mic off! I guess I'll just turn the sound off, so that I can enjoy the dancing.

Question of taste. They are all professional and spotless.. amazing couples... though to tell you the truth a bit predictable and stuck in their technicalities... some of them are just too musculine, I mean athletic- of course. I miss Hanna and Paul Killick and Michael and Joanna. They were born to dance, creative, charismatic and unforgattable... With all due respect to Yulia and Riccardo it's high time they left the place for the younger and fresher dancers. Just saying...
I agree with you. R&Y are fabulous but not my favorite in physical figure. she is too muscular, of course being fit and lean will be helpful in dancing with high speed and endurance. but as an art, I like more about beauty, curvy body and feminine face. this is just a matter of preference. Joanna's figure is more beautiful:) but above all R&Y are good role model for Latin dancer.
If the commentator is going to run his mouth non-stop, can't he at least educate the listening audience on the origins and history of the dances?

marina is not the best girl on the floor andra is. you can see marina is struggling to move...not that great of a dancer
Yes, great athletic bodies, nice dressed. However, the elegance is not there. The fitness combined with elegant moves, to look carefree and easy, and fabulous clothing are not there. I guess its not easy to find, another Fred Astair, Ginger Rogers, Rita Haward & others. There has to be someone out there that can do just that. However, I do want to appologize for being so critical. After all I'm not the expert.
Adele Zierler. They are all fabulous dancers! Works of art in motion. Y and R are my favs, but all are exceptional.
