Great Vid, makes me miss my old MKIII and 7M-GTE, a lot of what you went through I went through, it's not a cheap engine or car by any means. You making this vid brings back nostalgia, so many great times and so many bad times too, one day who knows maybe pick up another one day, for now I'm with that 3S-GTE and 8AR-FTS life. Thank you for doing this video!
My car is original, manufactured in 1986/05, is in factory condition, there is no modification on it. I love it! Soon you get a "oldtimer" certificate. Further success! Mongoose from Hungary.
Hey I have a question, I will bought one soon, did your head gasket blew up? I want to keep it stock but I wonder if I need to put a metal head gasket.
My dream car for a while now! Ive been wanting turbo, but i'd have to rebuild it from the start since they are 30 years old.. and I dont have the time/money for that.. Right now I drive a 03 Matrix XRS (most desired ECU of any of the USDM powered 2ZZ-GE's). Got it for super cheap with a busted engine, got my mechanic to swap in a fresh JDM 2ZZ-GE, clutch, water pump, hoses all that.. Once I get my AC fixed next year, and lil stuff I might look to trade it. BUT im loving the reliability at the moment (knocks on wood..)
Woa, never heard of a mk3 melting a piston just before fuelcut :( I've driven my 86 around 0.9 bar / 13 psi for 4 years 160k km / 99 k miles and never had that issue. Lucky me! Got a few 550's waiting to be dumped in :)
I used to have a 89 white package. Was great when it ran but that wasn't very often. 7MGTE took a shit on me. Rebuilt it instead of being smart and swapping a 2jge in it. Guess what happened... POS shitted out again! so at that point i was over it, threw in a used 7Mgte and sold it. If i would have went the 2J route and turbo'd that, could have made about 500whp easy and not blow up every year under daily commuting and a bit of fun. Would probably still have the car. lol GOOD LUCK!!
Alright thanks dude, I Raced an srt4 before when he had like 15psi and i had like 15psi. He beat by a car but thats when i 1st raced and didnt know how to launch except just dumping the clutch and spun
Very cool video bro! Now I look your other Videos. Interesting that you bought new 7m engines, where I live it's very difficult to get a good one. Most engines are trash. Sometimes I wish that I can live in other countrys, just for the carparts :D
I see you really are living the 7M life! lol I got my 88' Mk3 7MGTE Supra in 2013; I did do a HG on it as well as Bpu upgrades but my engine is still running. However, she is tired and needs a rebuild. But I'm swapping in the 2JZ engine instead; I'll keep my 7M and do a rebuild on it later. Good luck on your 7M path! You have to have a thick skin when having a 7M; but if you treat it right, it will treat you right.
wow man beautiful ride trying too swap my 88 7gtm turbo motor and trans on to a 92. but your ride is sweet keep fighting the gremlins out of your motor 👍
Looks like blue smoke must be burning some oil. I'll tell ya from 15yrs. Of experience, I'm the 3rd owner of my mk3 and u need to put a oil catch can on that motor asap! I went thru 4 7m's and the last 7m only needed a catch can to let it live longer. But keep at it long as u take care of the engine it'll keep u smiling
I had a 87 7mgte supra, 7m never let me down since I rebuilt it. had it about 6 years I think. currently have a 91 targa, i swapped in a 2jzgte vvti, & a 91 sunroof 7mgte auto. guess which motor I prefer? that's right, 2jz lmao. God I love these cars.
Funny, I would never accept pitting like that back from a shop. They didn't machine it down far enough. Or they should have filled/welded it. Can you guess where your HG will leak from next? 90% of people blame the 7m after doing a repair like you did the first two times but it's not the engine it's that the money wasn't spent the first time to do it right. Car looks nice man keep it up
That pitting is not going to be touching any part of the head gasket so how do you think it will cause a leak? It is a coolant channel in that area in both the block and the head.
cxbra it makes a engine that could be exceptionally balanced out of balance Robs power by making more drag and the fan clutches tend to fail with high rpm usage
Nice car dude! I'm picking up an 87 turbo 5 speed off Craigslist for $1500, needs a bit of work but I'm thinking for about $500 I can get it running well, it'll still be a fair bit in the cosmetic department but my first priority will be the mechanicals. Also, any recommendations for budget tires for the OEM wheels?
how you likin that t61? is it the cxracing bolt on? ive been thinkin bout gettin it myself because i really dont wanna fool with downpipe / intake fabrication
I see the mk4 as the sort of over sought after thing, I dig the mk3, bc in my opinion it has better looks, and I like the sound of it better. I've been saving up for a mk3, is it worth it?
Yeah I say its worth it, Its fun and reliable after the headgasket has been done right. There are going to need some tweaks and fixing up depending the conditions but after everything has been fix Its still fun for a stock turbo one. Just remember the supra game is not cheap .
Cheapest turbo car around where I live, That also has a 0-60 under 6 seconds. If I can get one cheap enough I might try the ebay route for a bit, seeing how that goes, then get a little higher quality parts for it.
i bought my mk3 when i was 9 for 150 bucks the guy said it was gonna go to the junkyard if it wasnt sold so my dad thought it would be a good father sun project and 13 years later it still runs admittedly its got a 600hp 2jz but still drives like a dream
just bought my dad's 87 turbo 7m dude already has hks bov bored .030 over ported and polished but it gets fuel cut it also has a the upgraded ct26 do you know if there's anything i can do to fix it?
what is a safe zone for the boost on a stock 7mgte, I'd just like to know as a fellow mk3 owner. My Supra is actually just like yours black with black interior, it's a 91.

I want one of these soooo bad. This and a Celica GT-Four have been my dream cars for ages. I'm halfway there, though. :D

Great video! Thanks for sharing. Love the amount of effort you have put into your Mk3

Take care of that car and it'll take care of you man. Looking to get one, but pretty happy with my 500hp SRT4 daily, and my Harley, haha.

Thank you, I appreciate it a lot.

Will do

your car is sick. I cant wait to start doing work on my mk2. im gonna be rebuilding a 7mgte to put in when I can.
thanks bro, goodluck with your build man.
damn i miss the sound of my 7m! blew it up years ago, now its just sitting apart in my garage
mines been in the elements for about 10 years now
Gr8 job. My 7m doesn't even sound that good. Or maybe I'm used to it from inside the car but it still sounds bad ass!...
Supras for life Mick!!! Good shiet(:
yee bro thanks for the support!
Cool stuff man, i replaced hg on an 89 back in my days, im older now , and it took me 40 hrs
Thats pretty fast, It took me a few days when I 1st did mine. didnt have a job yet but except school .So after school Thats when i would do it.
JZAMA70 the targa doesn't bend?
take care of it i want one am from the caribbean island of st lucia

OEM 7MGTE internals can handle up to 500hp, and forged internal are the same price as OEM, well at least here in Canada.
Cool video thought after last burnout the HG was gonna go again lol
That soda can mod is cool
Damn I miss my 88 and 92 all blacked out, you are burning quite a bit of oil though
yeah the piston rings were partially hurt and then went bye bye
Can't wait for more videos
Nice work!
Get rid of that belt fan and go electronic the engine will feel smoother
He's from the school of "if it aint broke, dont fix it". I went to that school too..
cxbra the engine will run smoother and the fan clutch on those 7m tends to go tits up after highway speeds and high rpm.
cxbra it makes a engine that could be exceptionally balanced out of balance Robs power by making more drag and the fan clutches tend to fail with high rpm usage
Your right Julio and its extra added stress to the cars engine to compensate for considering its belt driven
2:25 that Z sounded like shet
What are mods u done to make it sound this good and ik u can sit a 2jz down pipe with no prob
Damn it sounds so good in the last clip, why? exhaust?
Nice car dude! Good way to respect your father's favor of getting your car built by cranking boost and blowing it up!
how much boost?
Now thats a cool supra 🤙
Hahahaha micheal I just saw ur video. Look clean back then.
lol yeah i thrashed it pretty hard
@@7mGod7 I feel u bro. But the car is much faster now.
OOOOOHF! Man thats nice! Fair play to you for sticking with it too! Was you tourqing the hg to factory spec?
no I torqued it to 75ft lb +
@@7mGod7 I just bought one and I want to keep it stock but should I change the torque like you?
Dude the paint is emasculate on your car man
Fruit Punch Samurai immaculate*
@@thatonecouple8291 LMAO
U da man braaah
Nice, I love my 7mgte, im running a T61 turbo with all the bells and whistles. Checkout the channel, there is some great ideas for your supra.
I have seen your channel lol your supra is really clean and has a nice setup, its pretty cool that you found mine.
sweet vid bro!
thanks bro
I might have missed this in the video but were you ever running any sort of stand alone or piggy back ecu?
no, i am now tho standalone and it runs wayy better
Goals!!!
how you likin that t61? is it the cxracing bolt on? ive been thinkin bout gettin it myself because i really dont wanna fool with downpipe / intake fabrication
Joe Harness i like it so far, it dosent spool as fast as the ct26 but it hits harder at higher rpms
nice
Roman Atwood i see! I am wanting a mk3 so bad.
You know it g, I wanted the mk4 but after I got to know the mk3 Im kinda diggin it just as much.
I see the mk4 as the sort of over sought after thing, I dig the mk3, bc in my opinion it has better looks, and I like the sound of it better. I've been saving up for a mk3, is it worth it?

I gotta get another mk3. My was an 87... Mines got hit too
i bought my mk3 when i was 9 for 150 bucks the guy said it was gonna go to the junkyard if it wasnt sold so my dad thought it would be a good father sun project and 13 years later it still runs admittedly its got a 600hp 2jz but still drives like a dream
What is the paint code for your car? Is it a stock color?
just bought my dad's 87 turbo 7m dude already has hks bov bored .030 over ported and polished but it gets fuel cut it also has a the upgraded ct26 do you know if there's anything i can do to fix it?
Sterling Thompson you can go 550cc injectors with lexus afm or check for boost leak
Still holding fine? It has been reliable? What power on stock internals?
still holding up, just got a standalone and yes its stock internals
Joe much was the muffler
Which exhaust is that ? 9:22
Where in Iowa are you? I'm in Omaha, I have two 87 Toyota Supras!
dsm, an Nicee!
MickStossy V Nice, I sold one of the Supras. Maybe I will swing through Des Moines sometime.
so with only 10psi, you had to rebuild your engine.....SMH@7mgte. but i respect your dedication to your build
mice fucking car bro !!
Is that laos music in the back ? 1:25
yea lol my paps was playing it
The best way to mod a 7m is to swap in a 1JZ.
I know this is a old comment but. Are you going to pay for it?
That 350 sounded so bad😂😂
might as well went 2jz less headache honestly.
what is a safe zone for the boost on a stock 7mgte, I'd just like to know as a fellow mk3 owner. My Supra is actually just like yours black with black interior, it's a 91.
10-12 psi
what exhaust?
7mgte Manzo catback exhaust, you will need to buy a down pipe also
i just got a non turbo 7mge 1986 mk3 supra manual and im so anxious to build mine. it has 95,000 og miles.
do you have coilovers or springs? im looking for some but not sure witch ones im just looking for an agressive look then a stance look.
h&r lowering springs, it came with the car but im planning on getting coilovers.
hey what kind of rims are you running
subbed for more 7m life
Thank you, I appreciate it
You Lao bro lol
