how weird . .a grown man of 55 with tears rolling down his cheeks thinking of a time gone by. Amazing what a short snippet of something precious can do. Wasn't expecting that when I searched. Thank you Camberwick Green, Chigley and Trumpton - pure joy.

It was rubbish. Kids have got it so much better today with the internet. Britain was never innocent, haven't you heard of the empire and colonialism? We were oppressing the Irish at this very time too. Bet you're a brexiteer harking back to an imaginary time?

Ah...such memories. A time when children could have a proper childhood, and were easily pleased. A time of innocence too, sadly long gone. Dear Brian Cant, he was a wonderful entertainer and brought the characters to life so lovingly with his beautiful voice...possibly the best children's entertainer of the 70s.

Aww, we had little waterproof mats to put our little milk bottles on and could buy rich tea biscuits from our teacher. I'm sure she was making a big profit!

Goodness me what a trip down an innocent memory lane, I consider myself lucky to have been a child back then, taught me values and we had to make our own entertainment then with just a few tv channels....and then we got to the late 70's and Grange Hill on BBC 1 ....loved it but was that the start of the rott ?'.......lol

@@highpath4776 I was never scared of the clown or the music box. In fact I found the box bit exciting, waiting to see who would pop out.

I used to love guessing who would appear....Windy Miller was my favourite...how the hell did he walk between the spinning windmill blades without getting clobbered...especially after all that cider he drank??

Based on watching the Trumpton trilogy back in the late 70s/early 80s I wanted to be either a Fireman or work in a Biscuit Factory when I "grew up", well the Trumpton Firemen never did attend any actual fires, and always did that Band concert on a Thursday where they played the exact same tune every week.

I was in a town. A very old town with a past of flying spitfires. And A very old man looked upon an airfield from the very first bay window with a base of solid stone..
