He was bought on as our penalty specialist and didn't save any of the eleven so when it came down to him to be the last that would send anyone in their heads know what I mean. I am usually depressed and angry when Chelsea loses a game especially when we throw away so many chances like that. But that was such a great game it didn't matter who won at that point. It would have been deserved either way.

I was at the game. Was an incredible atmosphere. Damn the penaltys seem to have gone on forever. We should've won. Those offside goals aargh. So stressful. Especially when there's no replay for us inside. Nonetheles proud of the boys. We should've taken our chances, but lost it on a gamble. Best thing was when the players came to applaud us fans after the shootout & we kept our flags waving for them! 👏🏽
Granted chelsea had several missed chances that were onside but all the offside ones were just classic liverpool high line, been doing it for years, blame the linesmen for having to let it run

Best nil-nil I've ever seen, Chelsea were magnificent opponents and the only difference was the incorrect decision to replace Mendy for the shootout. He'd been hideously good all game long, he was sharp, and whilst we can't possibly know, I look back on the penalties and have to wonder if the result would have been very different had he stayed on.

The hate comes from the fact he is a English boy. We are always going to love and favourtise our academy boys because we are a English club. They aren't immune for criticism but we love to see it, it's rare that we get first team quality academy players coming in.
You are going to have to get use to it because Gallagher will soon be the next Mason, Reece and Callum.
Liverpool fan here, I felt disrespected on Mendy's behalf. He had one of the best goalkeeping performances I've ever seen and he got subbed off at the most crucial moments. I know Tuchel likes to sub Kepa on for penalties but after a flawless game from Mendy I really think he should have had a chance to stay on for the penalties.

What a wonderful game of football and after watching the game the result became immaterial. Great performance by Chelsea goalkeeper Mendy. Both the team played well and created many beautiful moves and chances to score.
LFC fan here. I wanted to take a look at how the Chelsea commentators viewed things... I like their commentary. What a close game... for me, Chelsea had the better opportunities, and LFC somehow, somehow didn't end-up 1,2,3, goals to the bad. In the end, what fine lines. What a shoot-out. Commiserations to all Chelsea fans... I've thoroughly enjoyed the games between our two clubs, over the past 3 -4 years I think they have given us the very best games, sheer quality. One we go!
