Literally no mention of the demo's horrifically blurry textures in performance mode and their update meant to fix it and the base game not really changing anything noticeably?
because sony pays well. Same thing with forbidden west at its launch@@pasta7796
Had the same issue with ff xvi. It's still not fixed and it was released last june.
yeah the major review channels really need to push hard on those issues to put pressure on the devs to fix it.
It really looks like a switch game in performance mode.
For a game specificly made for ps5 its unacceptable
It's a shame on Performance mode there is a noticeable resolution difference compared to Remake. Most likely due to the pretty dense environmental assets and textures going on, but yes SE focused on PS5 rather than having to consider cross platform flexibility.
A shame, but won't deter me from enjoying the overall game. Graphics mode 1st run, then performance mode 2nd as I originally did with FFXVI. Can't wait to explore outside Midgar.
Stop calling it next gen, ps5 has been out for years, it's the current gen. I bought a ps5 just for this game. I'm just sad with how weak the ps5 is. Your only options on ps5 are blurry 1080 at an unstable 60 fps, or fake 4k that's just upscaled 1440 at an unstable 30 fps, lol, it's embarrassing for the ps5....I just finished a playthrough of remake on my pc. Played in actual native 4k at 120fps. Still super excited for the game, but we all know the real version is the one coming to PC later....
The junon demo was so blurry it hurt my eyes i’m not sure what build of the game you’re talking about but if it’s the same as the updated demo then it looks horrible. Couldn’t even see half the characters faces in the demo
Peformance mode is sto blurry even compares to remake, graphics mod has a very jarring camera movement with out any motion processing from your TV.
It blows my mind how all the CZcamsrs covering this game don’t drill in on how bad the lighting really is at times YES when it works it’s amazing but when it doesn’t it’s literally blinding and at times looks like a light switch is beginning turned on this is the first game where I have to go into my tvs setting and change everything up
I bought a 4k tv and a ps5 just to play this blurry mess 😢
4k gaming on consoles was a lie, glad im still gaming on my old 1080p tv. 4ktv owners punching the air right now
console games cant do true 4k ,It's upscaled 4k unless it's a remaster of a PS3 game...otherwise nope.
It doesn’t need to be true 4k. I just wasn’t expecting it to look worse than the last one from 4 years ago.
@XP86 Rebirth looks better than Remake
I play both in Graphics mode and Rebirth is for sure better
the sky ain't moving?
Do you think Part Three will be in Unreal Engine 4 as well? Assuming it comes out in 3-4 years (in other ways it'll likely be on PS6), that will mean Square will have been using the same engine for over a decade by the time it comes out.
if you want the third game to be out sooner, they will use ue4. why rebuild all the toolsets and addons when their custom tailored ue4 engine is still a capable engine for Square Enix needs. at this point they have the base design/ visuals/ structure from rebirth to build the third game very efficiently
@@LOVER_LINKactually switching to 5 makes sense. It would be natural for them to switch to the newest tech. You can move your stuff from 4 to 5 including customizations. They would likely only need to do some minor tweaking to get it up and running in 5. But nothing too crazy. Also this game is a disappointment visually. It’s not pushing ps5 or using any new technologies. This is not night and day between Intergrade. This is more like a .5 leap in visuals. There’s absolutely no excuse for the game to run as it does or even look as it does on current gen hardware with games like horizon forbidden west, cyber punk(has problems but still is a generational leap graphically), gta 6 etc. looking the way they do. They would have to switch or all hell would break loose if the third looked just like this one. That was just laziness or someone made a terrible call artistically during development.
it deff will, as somebody below mentioned unless the UR 5 engine has a way to import assets from 4 to 5 and then be able to upgrade them, there is no point in remaking everything again from scratch and also the only real new content in part 3 will be wutai and the north continent, which raises the question of how endgame in part 3 will go, disk 3 in og was just endgame stuff all over the world and the north cave, so it begs the question..... will part 3 just have wutai, the north continent and a new midgar section? cant wait to see how they finish this off
@@christopherstanley9997 unreal 5 allows you to import your work from unreal 4. The only concern I have is that, square is using a version of unreal 4 that they heavily customized for some reason. They said it was to get that final fantasy 7 advent children lighting style back but I’m pretty sure you can recreate that look in unreal using its lighting solution. Idk how much effort it would be for them to customize unreal 5 as they did with 4. Or why they would even want to do it, seeing how good unreal 5 is.
@@terellkid1 im sure i read/heard somewhere in an interview as well, they said they wanted to stick with an engine thier developers were familiar with as well
They need to switch to unreal 5
Agree, but transferring assets from an old engine (a game they started working on almost a decade ago) could create its own set of problems.
@@jamesgravil9162 it would add on an additional year of production. id rather wait another 3 years than 4-5
@@LOVER_LINK Its better of they take their time to make it as good as they can. UE5 is a straight upgrade from UE4 and can actually be easier to work on the game with nanite and other new tech.
@@MarshallZPienah wrap this shit up. We're 2/3 in the way. They can remaster the whole trilogy in ue5 for ps6 or whatever lol (they probably will be doing that).
has the physics of vegetation glued on, are we in 2024 or 1997?
yeah not impressed w/ the graphics. Looks to me like a PS4 game. I never got to play FF7 as a kid so I'm excited to finally get to play it though.
Esp after playing God of war and horizon forbidden west and the Witcher. Everything looks covered in moss and the rocks look like clay
What !
The game is amazing but the image quality in performance mode is A$$ .
The texture models in open area for many surfaces are low res , low texture details .
Play any last gen AAA open world game from a tier 1 studio , image quality is much better .
FF7 Rebirth is a ps5 only game . The image quality is not acceptable.
Customer should stop making excuses for fheir favourite game and start asking for better quality on day 1 purchases .
Yes man...Every devs making good improvment after 6 monts after release..I hope this game will improve after time
Yes man...Every devs making good improvment after 6 monts after release..I hope this game will improve after time
Lots of complacent fans glazing this game including reviews when it should look way better than what we get.
@pasta7796 yes I'm tired of half-a$$ed games at this point in this gen. Half-a$$ed= $0.
1440p in performance mode and they manage to make it look like 800p ??
The image equality between remake and rebirth performance mode is night and day.
I agree. I'm in the middle of Remake walkthrough and I'm stunned how great this game looks, especially after playing this horribly blurry demo. I hope the devs will address this issue with some patch just like it happened with Dead Space Remake release (it was also full of postprocessing artefact and upscaling didn't work too well). Otherwise I'm waiting for deep sale.
@@bartomiejciesluk4241 it's SquareEnix , they have a terrible trackrecord with not fixing technical issues in ther Final Fantasy games, unfortunately.
Remake is waaay better in performance mode, this video is completely wrong about the great step forward.
Cannot wait, I was 11 years old when I sunk teeth into my first ff, which was 9. Then one year later I got the 7. This is literally my childhood right there
It aint even a last gen masterpiece ps3 grade textures ps3 grade shadow draw distance all the effort went into the cut scenes with ZERO attention to the actual game
Hi is it just me or is there a lot of pop in is that normal i thought something was wrong with my tv or console
We still say next-gen in 2024 for a console released in 2020?
@@TheKensei777 it's not next gen, it's current gen. Also, the ps5 is embarrassing compared to PC.... To much shadows amd texture popins
For real. It's honestly surprising and disappointing how much this game suffers from it. I thought we were past this on the PS5 hardware
I doubt anyone from gaming bolt will see this or care but when comparing performance and grahical modes it would be helpful to put the same images side by side. Its kind to strange to have completely different gameplay moments side by side to compare graphical modes.
Improvements Over Remake??? where and how. Maybe gameplay but not graphics at all.
Not true. The game has much higher geometric density than Remake. That much is evident from the Grassland onwards. Looking across Kalm into the landscape beyond is stunning. This game has great landscape visual design. If they can improve the lighting and make the texture and asset quality more consistent in the next game, perhaps harnessing some of those Unreal 5 features, then the game could look nigh on pre-rendered. Presentation is already amazing
Can the game developers create game using current system resources instead of using old programs like unreal engine 4., this should be develop on unreal engine 5 and all the upcoming games ahead.
I think I’ll be starting with graphics mode on dynamic difficulty then play hard mode in performance 🤔
threes are a shame honestly
PS5 is basically using a 2080 T.I. (It’s actually a little bit worse than that.) I got that card when it came out and 4K gaming at 60 was not possible without DLSS in games with quality graphics. It’s the issue of making a system where the price must be kept down so teenagers could play it. In the future, I would like to see two versions of a system get released at the same time, the base budget version and essentially the “pro.” Then 6 years later Sony can release the 1 upgrade. The ps5s hardware was outdated with the exception of its solid state the day it was released, but I think game makers have done their best to work around the issues.
But developers have made better looking games on UE4 like cyberpunk and horizon zero dawn
What a stupid comment... this hardware runs games like forbidden west at 1800p/70 to 80fps/big open ray traced worlds like spiderman 2 at 60fps to say its out dated is plane stupid.....u basically get a 2080 for £480 literally what are u moaning at lol ...tool.
@@ybyby3rdday horizon and cyberpunk are not unreal engine. Lol. But also you got to remember unreal engine is a PC engine at heart. It works at its best when you have powerful hardware to Brute force through it.
Demo looks like trash compared to remake
Glad I'm not the only one saying this. The demo soured me on getting it any time soon.
@@dctrbrassI was in the same boat as you. Then Falcon from Before You Buy said the final game doesn’t look blurry. I drank the Koolaid & sure enough it’s just as blurry if not worse. Sucks
The low framerate on the fidelity mode gives me motion sickness, performance mode looks fine to me, but im also not a graphics obsessed casual who only plays AAA games, will gladly take 1080p@60fps over 2160p@30fps anyday, so far ive only bought games on my ps5 that have a 60fps mode and its been pretty good, the few 30fps only games haven't even interested me, and all AA and indie titles run at least 60fps, thank god most ps5 titles have a 60fps mode
Consistency in graphics quality is something I love in FFXVI. From main characters to a vase in a store, everything has crisp textures and high poly counts. This game is a mess graphically.
Sadly, the performance of this game is so poor this has officially become a 2025 PS5 Pro game for me. FUCK! I was so hyped for Rebirth!!!
Not only does this game look worse than Remake it feels unfinished & thrown together. The jarring camera blur that pops up during cutscenes. Your party members floating to the start point of a shimmy animation. World assets & texture quality look terrible!! Open world objects from a distance are blocky and missing shapes. Audio mixing is horrendous in spots. Traversal animations like jumping & running are canned & look rough. I could go on for days!
All these little things in conjunction with the blurry Vaseline 800p resolution I’m done bro
I’m going back to Borderlands 3 to finish up Bounty of Blood. Rebirth was so supposed to be this grand adventure with AAA PS5 polish. This was the big game this year omg I’m beyond let down 😔
Can I play not in 4K, I don't need this resolution?!
Apparently the PS5 can’t handle it, it’s still very blurry.
the thing is that its running on fixed 1440p on performance mode, its not only the ps5...They need to fix it,have a look at Horizon Forbidden West running on performance mode, its gonna get fixed some time;)
It's at 1080p , not 1440.... The remake is at 1440 and looks nice and sharp, this one is at 1080 and with heavy TAAU (Digital foundry stated that it's at 1080 reaching 1152 sometimes) @@Dej0Le
Can we get some non toaster consoles please. The hell with this 30fps
You must have loved the ps4/xbox one generation. 98% of games ran at 30fps.
@CardCrusher29 Nope been on PC but I'd really like a powerful console.
@@dirtbikeryzz The current console gen might be the first in this century where so many games have a 60fps mode and backcompatibility is widespread.. Honestly, there's no way I'm going back to 30fps.
@@mikeg2491 I hope you wrote that in an ironic or sarcastic matter. Even "walking sims" like the Plague Tale FELT better with 60fps. In that mode, there was no need for motion blur even on my old 2017 DV 4ktv
Need to play this game asap but trying my best waiting for the PS5 Pro instead of buying the PS5
The ps5 pro hasn’t even been announced yet lol, why wait? It’ll be better on pc anyways, just get it there.
The pro should arrive around the same time as the PC port, I agree don't buy the pro if you can afford a decent gaming PC, and definitely don't waste money on the base ps5 it's already showing it's age terribly, I regret buying mine. Upgraded to a good PC and never looked back lol
Not bad. Square-Enix still falls short however. Horizon Forbidden West is the only true next gen game so far.
I would say remake is worse but obv not bad but rebirth looks better than remake since it’s bigger and the environments are big with lots of things but performance mode is slightly blurry but i didn’t really have a massive problem not sure if it’s the same as before since i got a week ago but it does seem less blurry than the demo
How come in demo there is no motion blur??? Its very confusing in demo. In Fidelity mode the motion blur is so poor. Even ff7 remake integrade is far better. Very confusing with demo.
If we stop buying day one games on this console..There will be improvments.I think thats is 100%
Performance Mode is ugly as fck i cant stand playing it I wont buy this game because of it
I can’t believe this game is still running on Unreal Engine 4 and still looks this beautiful. Can’t imagine what they’ll do with Unreal Engine 5.
Man i kept away from all the spoilers, bought the game, played it and... Well.. first thing i noticed was how "bad" it looks compared to FF 7 Remake (in Perfomance mode). Kind of a bummer tbh
Starting to think that PS5 pro can come in handy when ya think bout it after watching this👀👀🧐....lol nevertheless, until that has official release, buying this Day 1 🔥☝🏽
The 2005 ps3 tech demo character model and the ps5 model are almost identical this game looks horrible
Not even released yet. New patches will come out over time and iron out the experience I'm sure. Either way I'm looking forward to playing it.
This is the first game were a sequel looks worse than its predecessor. Remake looks almost cgi. Rebirth just looks blurry, which is unacceptable for a 2024 game and especially since it's a ps5 only title. I know someone in a department must have messed up the coding or something because there is no way this lloks so blurry while claiming it's running a 1440p. And supposedly fix did what.... nothing, really. What a shame. I really hope they fix it.
It's a shame they didn't implemented FSR in this game. It would've made all the difference.
Its a gamebreaker, there's no excuse for that amount of blurriness on a ps5 only game.
Man how basic you have to be. If you think Graphics makes a game you are Sorley misguided.
@krislindenmurh12 When in my comment did i say that graphics are what make a game better?
I tried the demo and in the area with the mountains i couldnt tell if its a video game or a movie so you are wrong
If this is a "Next Gen-Graphics Maserpiece" then what is Hogwarts Legacy? - An "over the top next gen graphics masterpiece"?
The textures of some surroundings in FF7 rebirth just look like crap. For example just look at the Objects in the shops of the first city. Or the water. There are not even waves when you swim there. Or the pile of woods and and and...
lol no
The way Cloud swings that sword is art
I can honestly say I could care less about the grass reacts to my presence in a game of this size.
Then you're an idiot. This is the worst looking PS5 game and even worse looking than some PS4 games that are twice this size. This game isn't even open world.
Everyone complaining about lighting, performance and graphics when back in the day we just got low polygon blocks with no mouths. 😂
Don’t agree, game is ugly, grainy & muddy.
Stayed away from all media for FF7 Rebirth, I stayed away from the demo. Now I have a lot of regret. FF7 rebirth looks like absolute shit, I really don't get it.
It is now and the original comment kind of stands. I literally went from remake straight into rebirth and cant play it u til they fix it. It looks terrible@selfhealing
So no one is gonna mention they can’t optimize this game right look at remake on ps5 compared to rebirth night and day difference it’s embarrassing
Dumb the remake was made on ps4 then port to ps5 this game is a massive open world and its pushing ps5 to the limit why so salty?
