The difference is that the runway on fs2020 is totally new without any tire marks, the road traffic is too sparse and the aircraft shadows are too crisp. The rest is there, the best simulator of all the time.
Ya that shadow is what clued me into the simulator version that and the lack of traffic. Other than that holy shit does this look good.
No it is not, in terms of the GRAPHICS It is the best, X-Plane 11 is currently the most realistic flight sim for home use, fs2020 just came out and the physics aren't really good. X-Plane is the better, more realistic choice unless you're some gaming fanboy trying to do a vfr.
Another thing is the volumetric trees need to be scaled down which, especially in the Bay Area photogrammetry shown in the vid here, they block a lot of the roadways and buildings on ground level at an unrealistic scale, and even with just photogrammetry trees they look like tiny blocky pyramids which Google does a little bit better imo. Other than that like you said it's almost too perfect and with little variations.
(Yes I know there are free mods that rescale trees and a new airport graphics improvement payware (Orbx and Zinertek) that solves these issues but I'm pointing out how the vanilla game is differs from real life here)

When you have to look that closely, it's pretty damn good. I thought some of the buildings actually looked more realistic in the sim LOL

One easy way is the resolution, nothing else makes a difference that big imo

Watching on my smartphone...I could only tell the difference when I saw the real cars driving around. Looking at the sky or ground...couldn't tell which was real
They downgraded the graphics.. it doesn't look that good anymore

They really need to flush out a lot of the airports especially the smaller ones, xplane did this
@@aklr7286 true, buildings that are not 3D yet is automatically generated, but the rest are actually from the real world
This simulator still gets me excited. They are planning to update this sinulator for years and years, it’s in a good shape now but imagine how it will be like in 5 years. Wow
@@timvanloo6 yep, exactly like that. just like iphone 1 was an early access to iphone 11 or a vhs player an early access of a dvd player...
@@igvc1876 kind of different because people that got the first released model of iphone didn't get the iphone 11 for free from apple. Unless you mean having to pay for more realistic airliners models once they get released by third parties. But there are a ton of improvements that comes with the sim updates.
@@oxOsicknessOxo Yeah, you still gotta invest in the simulator with quality payware addons to add to the immersion. Think of IOS software as FS2020 and the actual phone as payware addons. Every phone gets the IOS updates free, but you could invest on the newer phone for better quality.

when is that? because you can 100% tell which is which in this video. have you ever seen the textures irl switch between high and low quality? real life doesnt need dlss.

At first I honestly thought that the left side (the real life camera) was the flight simulator because the ground just looked less detailed (probably because of the camera resolution).
Goes to show how good this flight simulator can look from the air, there really isn't much difference until you get close enough to the ground.

Wow! This is one of the best comparisons I've seen yet. FPS is a little better in the one on the left, though 😄 Can't wait to get a PC that can play this or the '24 edition!
For about 30 seconds I couldn't notice which one was real till I looked at the weather differences.

This only enforces my impression that flight sim programs are far more "touchy" on the flight controls than reality is.
Real world had only 29FPS, totally unplayable

Honestly, it's really only the shadows which have to be more scattered and maybe more traffic. The game doesn't know what a half shadow is and the traffic is quite sparse as if it was may of 2021.
If MS can ever figure out how to make animated vehicle traffic look right you’ll never be able to tell the difference.

:-) I've flown into Mineta many times both in sim and in real life. I prefer it to San Francisco. It's MUCH easier to get in and out of quickly.
Totally! It’s the closest airport to my home town (Fremont), so it’s easy to get to, and much less busy than San Francisco in every section.

The only thing inaccurate about MFS2020 is the location of the control tower. At SJC, the tower is located on the east side of the airport, not the west side as the video shows. Everything else is.....wow
In a sense, the world in Flightsim reminded me so much of the world in The Matrix movie. Quite too matte, quite beige, quite too empty of cars, and a runway way too clean.

Holy moly! if you had just blur the game footrage a little, maybe slap in a noise filter then it would be indistinguishable from the real one O.o

Needs ray tracing and than wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The reflection off the plane made me realize which one was real.

Tower is completely different and PayPal Park (previously Avaya Stadium) is missing on the sim. Other than that, its an amazing resemblance.

At 0:57 Adobe workers say that it gets a little distracting to have planes over at 500 feet all day.

I noticed that the one on the right was real life right away
As there was a shadow of the plane on the ground and computer graphics cant support that yet.
Something about the sim's shadows are too sharp-edged and dark. Also the light bloom on the buildings aren't bleached out enough like in reality. But man is it impressive.
