Hi RJ, I think the Attune, weird, name is a very complete, compelling card for normal people, especially team cash back. This card offers 4% on haircuts, sneakers, massages, ev vehicles charging, camera equipment, pet supplies, Disney world, football games, and more. It just render the useless Chase Disney cards obsolete.

AMEX is just expensive all the way around. It will be interesting to see how things shake out over the next couple years with the skyrocketing fees & whatnot in a crappy economy. I feel like building on my Wells setup makes more sense every day.
Wells makes more sense. The fees won't change much. We're not Amex core customer base so I don't see much of an impact with the economy and the fees. 2020 level slow down did impact them but aside from that, they'll keep rolling as is
i spend a lot of money on gym/workout classes and my wife spends a decent amount at salons and spas. 4x on these categories and transferrable is super nice. Definitely not for everyone but is going to be amazing for us
If I had to guess the Attune targets the city lifestyle who is cash back focused and doesn’t want the Amex tax. You got the fitness/gym stuff and barbershop/salon stuff (huge imo most everyone needs a haircut), you got the entertainment stuff, steaming services, and travel is taken care of as well. Really nice card imo, it can even cover all your pet expenses too. Stay based

Lounge Buddy (ideally w/an Amex Green Card credit) can fill an access gap at smaller airports (eg SMF) and at DTW’s Evans Terminal (when flying non-Delta airlines). At Evans the Lufthansa Business Class lounge blocks Priority Pass during prime hours (2 hours prior to Lufthansa departures) but has to allow those with purchased day passes (have to show the emailed barcode as it’s not saved to the app/LB website; smallish lounge but functional/better than the small ATL C/D concourse SkyClubs).

There is no other card on the market with a multiplier for pet expenses, and 60% of people in the US have pets, making this car extremely powerful and reason why attune it’s next on my list!
I don't know the WF changing rules. Normally you can't move outside of product families. It may be possible but WF hasn't had cobranded cards or a reason to PC in so long that I'm not sure. Citi does allow out of family changes though so maybe
RJ, Great weekly recap video as always Sir. The Attune is a good card if people have the categories that they list the card could be useful. Video Games are expensive I saw those in there. The Attune card seems like a catch all card from other categories that others haven't thought of. The card could be good for the right people. It is definitely a Niche card though and catered to those who spend in the Niche categories. EV charging is interesting to. Not sure how much EV charging can be. Appreciate the stories every week? And you used one of mine the AMEX shutting down Loungebuddy App. You already knew about the WF attune card on profitable content before i sent you the news story. :)
The Attune is perfect for those with a decent amount of disposable income and it hits on so many categories that other issuers don't. Personally, my family's budget is extremely tight at the moment so I'm more focused on maximizing travel points and miles on the major categories. But it's definitely a card that would make a ton of sense in the future to pair with my Autograph and Signify Cash once we're in a better spot financially. I love sporting events and gaming, my wife loves spa and self care purchases, and we do plan on getting a dog in the future. And we always have a gym membership.
Attune is good for the following: Amazon, gun stores, shooting ranges, barbers, amusement parks, aquariums, zoos, camera stores. Not sure if it'll works for uber, since taxis/limos category is not there.
I appreciate the video, RJ. After I hit the SUB for the Autograph, I have to wait until the 6 month period WF requires to take another swing at the Attune. While WF isn't my favorite bank, the steps they are taking while hopefully push Chase and AmEx into adding some daily multipliers.
They've upped their game. I get people who will never use them again. I don't mind because it could and likely has happened at every bank to some degree

While no bank is altruistic, WF broke new ground in opening up accounts for people without their knowledge, but I suspect that WF incentivized personal bankers to do this, possibly via commissions? On a related tangent, I've only had the Citi Strata Premier for a week, but I've already had issues with Citi's craptastic customer service. AmEx and Chase are definitely more customer-centric, but I go where the SUBs are. I bank with a local credit union and also have AmEx personal/business accounts with them. No issues yet...

Then they put a $5 minimum limit for each repurchase amount for the gift cards. What's up with that? Is there any way around that?i don't want to go to a dollar store, etc, to make sure that i can record a charge and a payment each month for each card. Any suggestions?
$5 is the new minimum for reloads it seems. The verifying thing happens every so often. More so with suspicious activity, like many reloads of low amounts in a short amount of time. No way around it aside from finding a new method. Paying things with PayPal bill pay is probably the next best option. Sometimes cash app reloads work but it's not consistent. I'll probably keep doing $5 and be done with it
You could easily pay over a grand for a hunting rifle and optic, not to mention a hundred for ammo. 4% back on such an expensive hobby would be nice, Academy is specifically listed, if Bass Pro is included that pretty card might end up in a lot of hunter and fisher wallets

It was a weak argument. Even with more regulation, nobody is lowering the fee. To your point, regulations make it hard for others to get in and not worth their time.

Attune transferring to Cash Back to Points with the Autograph would seal the deal for me. Teacher crafts (I wonder if teachers pay teachers is included), sporting goods, digital purchases on the App Store and expensive gym membership are all the spending categories that I normally spend, so Autograph + Attune is a perfect setup
I believe you'll be able to move points. I'm told you can on the active cash, not sure why they'd do this differently. I think they're doing the Chase thing of making a point to say cash back vs travel... even though it's kinda the same thing
