  • How to put a 'nudo Vaquero' aka cowboy knot in your horses tail without rubber bands or string.
    These knots are put in the horses tail in Spain when working with the cattle because they are aggressive and react to movement. Having the tails in a knot prevents any unnecessary provoking of the cattle.

    super handig! Tijdens wedstrijden zoek ik altijd een CZcams video met het idee 'hoe moest het ook alweer'. De ene keer lukt het me super snel en blijft het lang zitten. Een andere keer krijg ik het echt niet voor elkaar haha.

    Thank you, I watched a lot of videos and someone doing it in "real life" but I never really understood, how it is done. Now, I finally think I get it :)

      Great! Practice makes perfect. It takes some time to get the hang of it. Make sure you do it tight and the dirtier the tail the better ;).

      If you make it wet it works better too. :)

    Magnificamente explicado, ademas de por los toros, también evitamos que nos salpique de barro en invierno, tanto al jinete como a todo los de su alrededor, hay unas plantas cuyas semillas son bolas de pinchos que se clavan en los animales, cuando un caballo las recoge con la cola se acaban clavando en la espalda, a mi me ha pasado un par de veces y duelen bastante, por eso en primavera siempre salgo con el nudo baquero, felicitaciones por el video, un cordial saludo.

      Muchas gracias por tus amables palabras! Me siento honrado de ser complementado por una persona de España que evidentemente regularmente utiliza el nudo vaquero es verdadero propósito! Gracias otra vez!!!

    The kind sir from Spain below explains how the 'nudo Vaquero' not only is useful to keep the tail confined to not provoke the cattle to attack, but also as a mudknot as well to keep the tail from getting entangled with burs. Thank you!

    I see its on the tail bone. Can this be left in for more than a days riding?

    @aliciacosta3178 Před 4 lety +1

    I just tried this today on my Andalusian, although I’ve done mine a little lower than yours 🙈 does it matter how high the knot is?

    • @ISOLDAIII
      @ISOLDAIII  Před 4 lety +1

      Alicia Costa Hi! Well the knot should start where the tail bone ends. The tail should wrap around the tailbone tightly not to leave the tail or knot ‘floppy’ if that makes sense😁

    • @aliciacosta3178
      @aliciacosta3178 Před 4 lety

      CENTAURO ah okay yes i done that maybe mine has a longer tail bone? Bit more practice for me!

    • @ISOLDAIII
      @ISOLDAIII  Před 4 lety +1

      Alicia Costa yes that’s also possible! As long as you make it start at the end.😊

    It was really intersted to watch, thank you! But as much as handy and useful it is, I can't help but worry about the horse - isn't it painful and dangerous (for the bloodflow) to have the hair wrapped so tight? Are horses able to protect themselves from insects with such a stump? I find it a little bit sad people worry about cattle being bothered but horses can be bothered during their tiresome work:( and may I ask what do you personally think about docking tails? Do you think banning this practice in other countries isn't reasonable?
    Kind regards!
