I like it. The diamond sun tan spots on your head will be cool too.

$345 with ear muffs only...no comms. I've had a couple guys recently that have been building TAC helmets. Pretty sharp! I'll be right behind ya brother.

I have one of those sitting on a shelf for 5 years. It was my build #2 after my first skate helmet build. I found it to be horribly uncomfortable and a bit heavy compared to the snowboard helmets. I found a snowboard helmet model W-205A if you google it. The cold weather ear pads are removable and my headset fits fine in the opening to where no dremel work is necessary. It did take some custom strap work though for the chin strap.

If it is uncomfortable .its because you didn't adjust the helmet properly, i have a fast phelmet blue tooth sound reduction. bulletproof. the ear muffs are gel etc. if I compared my helmet to your skateboard helmet.... ill throw yours in the bin.

@@TONYPARAMOTOR That's hilarious! Mine has Bose Gentex active noise cancelling. And yes, gel around the ear. You'll learn what a real helmet feels like eventually.

I built my helmet the exact same way from a mil knockoff helmet. Its got its pros and cons, one is its heavier than the Icaro but my biggest concern as you mentioned is the plastic chin buckle. Ive seen too many videos of high impact crashes where the helmet gets ripped off the pilots head before he hits the ground just from a big mid air collapse so I am pretty sure my buckle would fail too. The Icaro one looks much stronger. Anyway otherwise its a decent helmet.

Good looking helmet. I'll have to see how yours turns out then make a decision.

It's my regular now. configurable and reasonable weight. It allows creation of my own 3 d printed accessories. The limiting factor is still the Micro Avionics electronics inside of the ear cups. Two thumbs down... For all of the promises, it under delivers. I've flipped every permutation of dip switches possible on mic pick-up and noise, yet nothing makes a difference. If I could find a electronic interphase system that incorporated active noise cancellation and optimal input audio control, I'd switch too it faster than Chris Christie's motorcade pulls into an all you can eat buffet on his way home from the campaign trail...

I have a Micro Avionics setup. Its in a bag in the garage. Went back to Send 20 until I find something better. We finally made it to Florida.@@YankeeinSC1

I think you might have misunderstood. It's OK, I did too when I started getting involved in PPG. It's hardly a local community! I'd purchased that helmet I mention from Wisconsin Flight Sports online, after watching a review my friend Rick Davies (AKA PPG Gorilla) of Bradenton FL posted on the helmet. I later met up with Sam and Roger of WFS first hand at the "Endless Foot Drag" fly-in event, in Fredonia Kansas in 2019 or 2020. They attempted to help work through some of the issues my Micro-Avionix headset had, but ultimately it needed to be returned to the manufacturer in the UK. Nonetheless, it still doesn't work right. The point is, that although I know and see these other PPG folks often at events, the internet and the online community is what connects us. Fly-in event attendance and getting together from time to time builds on those connections. Maybe next summer I'll pass through south eastern WI, I'd like to fly around Lake Geneva or over Wilmont Mountain where I'd spent a lot of time as a teenager... so I'll try to look up some local PPGers, but I certainly won't be spending the winter there! Good luck and keep the snow shoveled.

That tan helmet is a cheap bump helmet, and will not provide the protection you need while paramotoring.

Certainly you know it's a platform for hearing protection, two way radio communications ,camera mounts and audio feed pick up. It is extremely impact resistant and well padded, just not "certified" by some zero responsibility, self proclaimed alphabet organization. I'll check out your channel for an alternative.
