However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also, thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self-confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel.

I never did. I always found her overly precise. I liked Whitney, Sarah Vaughan, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and others more. Celine to me felt more like histrionics than feel.
I work with someone who totally hate Celine Dion, he said she can't sing. She just use electronic and back vocal...
What I understand to this? People who don't like Celine Dion, just don't know her (or music) at all.

I REALLY do acknowledge her extremely high technique. Talent and everything. Of course she's a vocal beast.

As a French Canadian who as known Celine since she appeared on a local tv show in 1981 (Michel Jasmin.. look it up)... I just want to say that she is as talented, as she is nice, genuine, real... her heart is as great as her voice and she never ever forgot where she came from... and I will always love and respect her for that.

So many French songs...and I could not be more proud as a French Canadian ;) We just love her to bits and are so so proud of her. Not only because of her amazing voice, but because she is just as she was when she was starting her career at 12. She just never changed who she was dispite all her succes. xxx

I saw her 4th row in Vegas. She never missed a note and she was singing live (if not she’s the best lip singer that ever was). She was flawless!!!

The Diva. She sings like a déesse. We like her a lot in France. She sings as easily as we poor mortal, we speak. This quebecoise has a crazy talent. My favorite songs of her are numerous : "On ne change pas", "pour que tu m'aimes encore" , "Je sais pas ", "Sous le vent", "I'm alive", "Parler à mon père", "It's All Coming Back To Me"...
Add to that S'il suffisait de aimer and Et Je t'aime encore...love those! Oh and Encoire un soir....

@@noonanunimelf9872 Wait I forgot "Toutes ces choses" from her last French album...I'm in love with that song...I don't speak fluent French, but her discography in French is just so different than her English one, it makes me want to learn the language better to just appreciate the full extend of it.
just the albums s'il suffisait d'aimer and D'Eux made up 80% of her success in France. It was her more rock period.

Everyone is always so shocked at her agility when they react to her for some reason. It's pretty prevalent in a lot of her songs but I guess the most popular ones don't showcase it so much.
I guess people don't expect her to be able to fluently do it live.
It's one thing to do it in a studio, it's another thing to do it live and to punch it to the next level as she so commonly does, making it sound even better. A lot of artists struggle to even hit their studio recording levels and fail when they try to out-do themselves. Celine is an exemplary exception.
Even as a fan, it just goes to show that she’s that powerful when she can surprise me every time even though I’ve heard a million times.

Celine is one outstanding vocalist who has continually invested in her talent! My vocal teacher once told me that Celine practiced 4 hours (doing some crazy hard vocal exercises). Sorry but in my opinion, in terms of technique, vocal strength and beauty, sensitivity and just overall performance quality NO ONE TOUCHES or COMES CLOSE.
Yes there are really good singers out there but she is brilliant.
Top 3 diva vocalists (my opinion) are Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey (in her earlier days).

@@lonnyphillips4257 I can get behind that. I noticed she was using one for the majority of the concert I went to earlier this month on January 8th (three weeks ago tomorrow). I thought it was a bit odd in today's world, thinking maybe it was a throw back or she just liked having a wire or whatnot. I didn't know of her specific reason as to why until now. Thinking about it, a wired mic is a direct signal into the amp/speaker or whatever rather than as a wireless signal that can bounce around causing it to lose energy/packet loss as it gets transferred, and possibly get interfered with by other signals, etc. Wired has less delay and more information conservation.

Mastery of vocal technique and pitch, passion and emotion, great mic technique, doesn't care what she looks like when singing, can sing any genre, huge range, generous in duets. Fantastic library of music behind her, her French language work is my favourite and live in concert she is stunning.

Love this, the passion you have when describing Celine's vocal technique, its great to see this from another Celine fan (She's one of the people I remember growing up listening to, learning breath control and belting for the first time).
Whenever I'm having a really REALLY lousy day, I come watch this. Seeing someone who appreciates the sheer talent of Celine as much as I do (and I'm happy to say as you do) never fails to brighten my day. Seeing the utter joy on your face as you appreciate her talent has dried my tears more times than I care to count. Thank you seems like poor recompense for the happiness you've provided.

UGH! I’m obsessed. I am a singer as well, and Celine is my Queen. She absolutely is the greatest and best singer and vocalist I have EVER heard in my life, bar none. (This is no diss to Mariah, Whitney, Aretha, Barbra or any other vocalist that I also love and respect, but Celine is just superior across the board!)

Hey Rebecca. To hear your opinion about Miss Celine made my day. I truly believe you are talented teacher. I keep watching regularly your videos about other artists. When u gave your opinion about Celine's voice i had a slight feeling that u was not taking your time to tell more about Celine's past and present of achievements as a vocalist. U know yourself what happens with vocal cords after giving a birth. Either u have to watch too many other videos from other artist or u just say it without thinking and hope to generate more clicks on your videos by being polite? People are afraid to criticize artists, but we have to do if we want to educate other users who are really singers and who are only trying to be singers.

Rebecca, I've been a fan of hers since ~ 1989 or so (at the start of her English Career) and then fell in love with her French catalogue later on.
If you can scare up some of the early bootlegs of her concerts, I'd highly suggest it. But her voice before 1993 is different than it is post - '93 because of vocal chord inflammation (and even I, who is hearing impaired can tell the difference) and that was when she put in the hundreds of hours of work to keep her voice that incredible (and also earlier in her career she'd go some time from time to time to not talk, to preserve her voice.)
She still has a voice coach and still puts in the work. (and if you get a chance to see any of her improv vocal exercises in a loo, watch it. You'll cry from laughing so hard!)
The one where you were falling out (where she was wearing the dangling earrings) was Vole, off of her album The French Album (1994)
There is a story behind it hence why she can channel such passion and power into that one.
I've also had the pleasure of getting to see her sing live - twice now, and going to a third early next year - and each concert is amazing - but she takes the time to entertain between songs. She's hilarious. While I enjoy everything she sings, I get emotional when she does some of her French work. It's in a lower key and the linguistics of the songs show a different quality of her skills - still technically amazing and proficient but also more emotional for her since it's her native language. Covering Edith Piaf and singing Jean Jac Goldman songs is an experience, one I highly recommend.
