Yeah very basic. You should always just go around doing the easiest one word answers first and read the rest then com back . Also for the answers in which you write alot . Start with the type you are most comfortable with and end with the one you tend to think alot in
I do three steps. First: Go through and do every problem I feel I can do quickly and will most likely get correct. Second: Go back and do all the problems I think are doable but will take some time. Three: attempt the ones I'm not familiar with to the best of my ability.
And don’t spend too long on a question if you can’t figure it out. It’s better to go back to it later than waste time and not be able to answer questions you can definitely do.
this isn’t always good. i know a lot of teachers of mine who when they make exams put a couple easy high marked questions at the end, long questions at the start and easy but long and low mark questions at the start
I always answer the easy ones first, skip the hard ones if they're the same points. then go to the medium ones, then the hard. I finish 15 to 30 mins ahead of time. take mock exams too because they help with unconscious competence
it depends still, i have this one class last term where the midterms were online and you couldn’t go back to a previous question. & since i had no idea what to expect on the test (since there were no quizzes), i had to use the vids technique so i wouldn’t run out of time. but if it wasn’t like that, i usually skim through all the questions before answering, mark the ones i know i’ll have difficulty in and answer those last. this also helps so you wouldn’t accidentally miss an essay question in the last/back page, did that once in 5th grade & never again
I'd suggest that when you're in exam hall/classroom , just sit on your seat and breathe. Don't even think about the subject ( only if you've prepared well for it which you should cause it's healthy) and when you get your paper, just go through it and partly solve them mentally so that you're assured of the answer. Next, when the writing time starts, just start writing down everything you know as fast as possible and you'd have enough time for revision. i do this and i get satisfying marks..
The funny thing is i actually got 97% on my last test/exam and i really do recommend this video it really helps ALOT, some of you guys dont understand how underrated this man is. He made my test scores high in just weeks, props to you man! You deserve it.
When I’m taking a test that I’m actually worried about the time on I skip questions that have a lot of reading before them and finish the ones that are only a couple sentences. Sometimes reading a question can take almost as long as doing it so save those longer ones for the end
Rather then this I highly recommend scanning through the test, answering all the no brainer questions. Then do the same will all the easy and medium ones, then go back to the hard ones. This will ensure you don’t miss the questions you could solve but don’t due to lack of time, and only leaves the ones that you may or may not be able to solve left. Another bonus to this strategy is as your answering the easy ones, you can think over the hard ones a little more and potentially figure out the component you were missing.
On FSA (state test) this year we had about 22 questions in each session (3) and 60 mins in each session so I calculated when I should be done with 11 (about 15 mins) so Ik I had time then did the rest (about 15 mins also) then had half an hour to chill/ rest
I do this by default. A lot of the time, I even divide the time I have by the number of questions-so like, if I have 90 minutes for 40 questions, I’ll spend about 2 minutes per question, with 10 minutes to spare. I imagine dividing time down to each individual question would be stressful, not helpful, for most people, though.
I like to stop at different points of time during the test and calculate how many questions I have and how much time I have left. Then I divide it and get how long I have to complete each question. This helps me because I always get distracted and my mind wanders but to know how much time I have helps me stay focused on the question and that time. I’m not great at explaining things so hopefully you got the picture
Actually this is every Indian ever because every Indian student who studies 10th grade 11th grade or 12th grade who is about to write their final exams makes these. Because the time for our exam is never enough going without a time management plan will mess up everything. It is really useful.
Pls make a video on your extracurricular activities and your academic achievements and also the other things which you think helped you to get into MIT.
And it's better to move on to the next question until you finish the whole exam because this usually gives your brain time to take on hints for each question and you'd remember the answers you thought you forgot
This is what I actually do. I am pretty slow at everything. Especially, when things are not structured. So I create my own structures by setting checkpoints. I also highlight important words in questions and cross off answers that don’t sound right. When in doubt I usually write some words next to the answer options just to let myself know why I think this may be the answer to the question.
We don’t have a clock in the assessment room and we aren’t allowed watches during assessments, just in case someone has a cheat sheet in them. I then can’t use this method and btw I do hate how we don’t have any recollection of time
Have a similar method for my Math exams, except it’s not MCQ, but structured answer questions where I have to calculate stuff and show working. For me, it’s by per mark how much time. For the exams I got, it’s 1.5min/mark (or 90 seconds/mark) on average if you want to finish on time. So for example: a 6 mark question, you need to finish within 7.5 mins. For 10 marks, it’s 15 mins at most to complete the entire thing. (To finish on time, without checking. For checking time, you need to decrease the amount of time needed per mark.)
During online tests I used to calculate the time limit for every question and if it was 3 mins per question I make sure I'm not over it. That's bad for productivity and looping with checkpoints will be better, but it sort of works
As someone with time management problems, I do this: 1. Look through your whole exam so you know what you have to deal with but do it fast like just skim through 2. Start solving the questions you know and skip the ones that you dont know 3. Once you finish with the ones you know how to solve, start solving the ones you dont know or just give your best guess
More of a time management tip. According to me basic fundamental is to leave the question right away if you don’t come up with the algorithm instantly. Like you should know what is to be done. After attempting the questions you know come at the end to try those by using your brain.
Most of the teachers I had, have been actually impressed with my test scores since I always get high scores but don't really participate as much.. Also in our school we only have like 10 questions for each subject (we have 10 subjects) but the hard part is that most of the answers are correct it just that you gotta pick the most correct one and also different answers can get you different points
Fun fact college board tests allow you to have analog watches. You can pace yourself while taking them and this applies to testing spaces that in my experience rarely have a clock
You fail to consider that some questions will be solved faster than others. this might create the impression that you are slacking time or running out of time.
Bro how do I study for math tests, I'm learning exponent equation stuff and volume and area stuff and it gets so confusing and my test is coming up soon
you didn't ask me but i wanted to share my technique. My mom teaches me math , and she always makes me write all the formulas and rules of exponents in 1-2 pages with proper heading. Then i used those sheets to skim through before i go for my exam. secondly, i always do examples from the book then proceed to the exercise. This makes math much easier. along with doing those questions , I mark all those questions which i'm not able to solve and those questions comes in handy before exam . and also math is supposed to be done everyday religiously, then only you'd be able to manifest perfect marks in math... hope you found it informative and all the best ;)
@@catherineb6889 also try to understand how things work. Don't just memorize the equations. For example: the area of a square is Side × Side. If you understand why this is, then you can make assumptions like the volume of a cylinder is the circle × height.
I usually go with "don't have the answer right away? we'll loop around."

Same. It saves time because you won't be staring at a question not being able to answer it and wasting time
