After I learned about the magic of dollar store batteries - six for a buck - I brought my Pignose back into the game.

My pignose amp stopped working. On inspection the thin walled battery holders failed on both sides. The plastic battery cases broke owing to its thin construction. I attempted a superglue/ epoxy with metal reinforcement on the broken off corner piece on one side. It worked, but in doing so, the soldered connectors , both red and black on that left hand side became disconnected. For the life of me, I could not get the wires soldered back on. The heat from the iron melted the plastic. Pignose wants...wait for it...$20.00 for two plastic battery holders! I do not live close to a Radio Shack. So I started to think, this takes a 9 volt battery adapter in the back. The total voltage of the AA batteries in series is 9 volts. What if I just used a common 9 volt battery? I jumpered one onto the red and black leads and turned on the amp...nothing! I plugged in a guitar cord and did the same thing again, Success! For my final fix, I shall use two 9 Volt batteries in parallel (plus to plus and minus to minus) and mount them in the box. This should suffice for the few times I actually use the amp.

Have a new tweed pignose and played beneath a pavillion with other musicians. In the dark, someone inadvertently kicked it, not too hard but enough to knock over. It now crackles at most, and figure it would never pay to bring somewhere to be fixed for what repairs might cost. Ideas what may have been loosened? Wire connections seem yet to be firmly soldered. I may have to find an electronics tinkerer

I'm not trying to be funny here, but if you truly lack any knowledge of even basic electronics, if you haven't, you might try giving it a good knock around yourself !
Smack it with you hand a couple of times, and see if you hear any improvement ?
If not, try holding it a couple of inches off the table, and drop it, that may be just enough to jar whatever caused the initial problem ?
If nothing else carefully remove the battery compartment, and look for any loose or pinched wires !
      Worth a try !
      Just my 2 cent's worth !
      \_🥴_/
      Good Luck !
