  • Is 2028 DOOMSDAY for Team USA Basketball Dominance
The 2024 Paris Olympics are officially over! The Olympics had its share of unforgettable moments, some for the good, and some for the bad, these games had it all. But nothing grabbed the world’s attention quite like The Team USA’s avengers’ assembling to claim their fifth consecutive Gold Medal. The Nationalism was FLOWING! (RAW CLIP) Legends like Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant showed us pure greatness when it mattered most. This journey was far from easy, as it took heroic efforts by the big three to grab GOLD. Witnessing what could possibly be the greatest basketball team ever assembled was truly special. One of those life experiences that will make you look back and think about where you were when Steph Curry hit the DAGGER THREE, while covered by two French Players, straight into the “NIGHT NIGHT” pose. French broadcasters couldn’t even watch as one said, “The Devil named Curry is hurting us, how is this possible?” Eh… HEM… Pardon my attempted French! Chef Curry’s “shining grin” is sure to haunt French basketball fans for the next four years. BUT… These incredible moments and players that made the 2024 Olympics so ABSOLUTELY SPECIAL and memorable, make looking ahead to the 2028 Olympics feel daunting. Lebron James is 39 years old, Kevin Durant 35, and Steph Curry 36. It seems unthinkable for these three to return together again. Curry already mentioned this is his one and only Olympic trip. Can we really be confident that Team USA is in good hands moving forward? We've heard for years that the world is catching up, but these Olympics showed just how truly close the gap has become. Could 2028 be the 'DOOMSDAY' that ends Team USA’s dominance once and for all?
When Team USA’s roster was first announced, the headlines were buzzing with confidence, almost every report predicted they’d dominate every team they faced. Analysts were predicting blowouts in every game, and the comparisons to the ’92 Dream Team were nonstop. This Avengers squad was labeled completely unstoppable.
We have heard that USA Basketball is in trouble now, and we never will see this again. But what does that truly mean? This video discusses the potential make up of Team USA's 2028 Olympic basketball roster. Are these young players ready to take the team to the highest level?

the entire olympics had some memorable moments but easily the best was steph was first carrying usa to a 36 pt comeback in the semis and then finishing off the gold medal match with FOUR STRAIGHT 3S in the last 2 mins of the game 😮‍💨🐐

As a French fan, this silver medal and Curry’s performance don’t affect me at all. The accent attempt is something far from French. Proud of this silver medal by the Blue Team, and hopeful for LA, with a rising stars to come !

@tonybaihao4178 That's exactly It, It was a horrible attempt at French on purpose. I have to try to embarrass my voiceover guy here and there to keep him on his toes. lol You guys are building a powerhouse of talent over in France. You are setting yourselves up for an awesome run in 2028. Thanks so much for watching! 😉

True…it was an intentionally bad “French” accent…a bad caricature at best…but it was intentionally horrid.
Wasn’t intended to be a true Frenchman.

they're still gonna be heavy favourites, let's not act like the usa aren't still gonna be the deepest team in the olympics, that said their "lack" of top talent like curry, lebron and kd (bruh they'll still have like 5 superstars on the roster) means they are more likely to get upset, I think canada, serbia and especially france are gonna be out for their throat after what happened this year

@julesm5892 I totally agree. The USA is still going to be incredibly deep and have amazing superstars. But games on the world stage are incredibly scary, like we saw this year. One bad quarter or half, means you go home empty handed.

@@ThunderSlams I think the upset will come moreso from underestimating opponents rather than the talent in the roster, once they're down not being able to comeback, serbia should have won the semi and was up by 17 but choked hard, especially jokic who had an unecessary foul that led to a 6 point play and put the usa back into the game, that was the turning point, without it I'm 50/50 on who wins the game, when americans won't be able to recover from those types of game anymore they will lose

You are acting like Team USA hasn’t actually lost preparation games before or as if Team USA hasn’t had close games in the past Olympic tournaments. The era of complete dominance has been over for quite some time now. USA has even lost. Don’t think that anybody really expected crazy blowouts and also Kerr mostly escaped criticism. The US still has by far the most talented players and will be fine as long as we send a good team. We should go back to forcing players to make long term commitments in order to get continuity other nations have.

@toughl24 When this team was first announced, tons of people were talking about crazy blowouts and there was no way anyone could beat them. I agree! Team USA is deep and talented. But remember, the tournament is one and done. You can't afford to have a bad game during tournament play. The dominance I'm referring to is how we have won 5 gold medals in a row. That is in jeopardy going forward as these teams get more talented. Thanks so much for watching!

Let’s not forget…they were down by 17 to Sudan and almost lost that game. They weren’t the unbeatable team that they were touted to be.
