DARTH VADER - Jedi Hunter (Obi Wan Kenobi Parody)

- Warning: contains Obi Wan spoilers! We've been enjoying the new series for the most part, but a few things are making the Empire look more incompetent than usual. Why did Reva send out a photo alert for Obi Wan but none of the stormtroopers seemed to have it? How did Vader put out the fire he was using against Obi Wan the first time but for whatever reason couldn't put it out again. How the hell did a couple of snow speeders assault a big scary Imperial base with mostly (sorry, Wade) successful results? The only way it would make sense is if it was all intentional. So we made a few tweaks to create an alternate version where it's all part of...the hunt. Cast info below.

Larry Episode 1 is out! czcams.com/video/JnmeTyU1rA0/video.html
Its disgustingly good. Please do a whole season, or we riot. Thank you.
It's very good.
this really highlights how stupid the show's plot was
Thank you for your hard work
But
No dance fight??
Was "the Hunt" that important to Vader??
Yes, the Larry episode has a story I want to follow, looks like a has been come back dance story!
Auralnauts greatest strength is portraying the insanity of managers and confusion of employees. The Auralnauts stormtroopers will always be canon to me
I wish my manager would get us Jim's..
@@ananousous JIM'S!!!!
@@chrisryons Woah! Hahah, okay buddy. We all love Jim's but let's not get weird about it

Oh yeah!
“You caught him and let him go? It seems we understand each other, Third Sister…now the hunt TRULY begins…”
Absolute gold.
Then in Episode 5 the Third Sister captures Obi Wan in a room with dozens of Storm Troopers, but she cleverly tells two Troopers to "secure him" in the other room. She's really catching on about how this game is played.
@@brianbagnall3029 the part where Obi-Wan does the uno reverse card and says she’s hunting Vader…how the turntables

Imagine regional manager Vader knowing full well that once Kenobi is actually caught, funds from corporate are going to dry up.
So the hunt begins.
Again.
@@Saeronor If regional manager Vader plays his cards right, he might get increased funding next year.
so perfect - pretty much what i was thinking the whole series "umm is he letting him go cos he enjoys chasing him?"
The idea that Vader's gotten so bored with his day-to-day that now whenever he finds a Jedi he really has to savor it is really funny.
It plays off more like a way to keep training activities active within the empirical fleet and that plays down a lot of the violence and tension that was originally created. There aren't that many Jedi's left by then. What will the lumber companies do when all that is left is Chinese resell recycling and particle board? No trees. I just compared empirical training to deforestation. I got so much faith in the Empire's abilities . . . Like a kitten playing with a baby rat... Nice way for Auralnauts to give a sense of amorality within empirical climes.
@@darinbauer8122 I think you mean "imperial". "Empirical" means something completely different. :)
@@daedalus25 No man. Klingons or the Empire both have an empirical fleet. That's like maritime vernacular from colonialism. The rebellion might have a Republic fleet, Mando so implies, but doesn't specifically infer. The Federation is a collaboration, so in terms of horizontalism their 'empiricism,' doesn't typify their views on fleet activity, but critics of the Federation would consider that differently. [The Maquee come to mind.] So technically for my descriptive purposes I try not to deviate unless new facts from canon sources, or at least reasonable theory presents itself. Peace.
@@darinbauer8122 Dosn't "empirical" mean you know something from your own experience rather than books or other indirect materials? As for the meaning of "of empire " the word is "imperial", like the measurement of imperial units or imperial system. so the fleet should be Imperial Fleet/Starfleet, do I understand correct?
@@gogojest9367 It's just meant as a play on words relating to the concept of 'cannon.' In Trek you cannot do that unless you are specifically on about some aspect of Empire. It's simply thematic.
The headcanon that there's so few Jedi remaining that Darth Vader is letting Obi-Wan go just to have some fun hunting him down, as he's the only Jedi who actually poses a solid challenge to him makes total sense now.
Someone mentioned that there is a Vader comic where Vader after doing something for Tarkin, asks him for a favor. He asks Tarkin to HUNT him and at the end of the issue Tarkin wonders if the reason for his request is because since he and his inquisitors have done such a good job hunting and killing Jedi, that there is no one else left who could give him a challenge.
Now put that in the context of this video and you see how brilliant it is.
'Ok guys, you heard him. We're gonna let Obi-Wan slowly get away...'
- sums up this entire show
Anybody else expected this to be part of the old series with Obi being desperate enough for Midichlorians that he'd kidnap Leia to ransom her back to Anakin for some drug credits?
Don’t worry. Larry is in production!
@@Auralnauts yay!!

This parody makes more sense than the actual show
That's the whole premise
Waaaaait a minute...this isn't the actual show?
It's true the parody of a parody actually makes sense
@@kenXtripleI And now the parody.. TRULY begins...
You guys need to make a sequel to this with Vader letting the second ship go for the hunt, and then at the end when Kenobi lets Vader live Vader asks why, and Kenobi turns back and says, now the hunt truly begins.
Vader take "catch and release" to another level, now the hunt truly begins
Yeah, that's gonna be my new catch phrase every time I release a fish in the future.
*takes (because "Vader" is singular)
*level. Now (to fix your comma splice run-on)
*begins.
You guys understand the characters better and make them seem more competent.
You could also make a bacta tank dream song it would slap.
well, a character can be as smart as the person writing them. And Lucasfilm's character are not very smart...
This surprisingly makes a million times more sense than how the actual show is currently playing out
Surprisingly!?
Wait, how? I still think the edit was good as well as the show overall.
@@BlueTyphoon2017 You gotta be blind to not see the flaws in the show bruh.

It’s always a pleasure to bring Jesse Gomez back as Vader! Episode one of Larry is the works and coming soon. Head over to our Patreon to help us finish the whole series and more videos like this.
I have some potential work for Jessie if he's interested $$ I don't know how to reach him
Can’t wait for episode 6 of obi wan, where the hunt truly begins!
I'll always be excited about new star wars content as long as auralnauts are around.
Fuck Yeeeaaahhh 🤘
I am hoping that it turns out that Vader let Obi-wan escape so he could suffer more as he watches the Empire grow stronger and kill everyone he ever cared about. That would be a great explanation, and true to Vader's character.
I was wondering why this doesn't follow the Auralnauts Star Wars adaption, but then I realised this was actually just fixing the original series dialogue to make more sense. Well done, did not expect that.
And lowkey roping in new viewers on the Obihype. They are not learned in the Larry Lore. Not yet.
It’s funny as hell how little the actual narrative has changed
Still better executed here
It seems like you got it.
Now let it go. I said release it.
Now the hunt truly begins.
Also, the laser gate with no fence attached in the middle of nowhere. They could have calmly walked around it, but spent a while trying to open it and ended up shooting the controls. He was just hungover from too many mega pints.
I mean it made total sense if he had planned to drive the truck speeder on through. But no, blast the laser gate and then proceed on foot with perfectly good transportation right there.
Right, so he should've climbed over a steep cliff side with a little girl instead of opening the gate right in front of him, which he opened. What?
@@wolfgod6443 Steep cliff? There is a gap at either end with a shrub. I think they can just walk around it and through the shrub

@@flipadavis Yeah that's my bad I misremembered. Thanks. Regardless though, is it really a big deal, like at all? It just feels like a massive nitpick because who cares what Kenobi does at the gate after he just killed/beat the crap out of the whole checkpoint of guards. He could've blown up the building and the transport and it wouldn't matter.
Yall are really nitpicking a scene that took 7 seconds
Well this just plugs all the holes! Every convenience and escape by Kenobi was done on purpose all fr the sake of...The Hunt.

So, hunting Obi-Wan is just Vader's idea of catch-and-release fishing?

The hunt is over! But we must celebrate the last hunt... with a new hunt!
Now the new hunt TRULY begins! Again!
@@tetsujin_144 Now Vader is the hunted!
Hmm, this actually is helping me deal with my frustration towards Vader's logic. Maybe he's just bored and wants to make it interesting for himself by constantly hunting him down.
I mean, I could understand if Vader, for one, wanted to maximise the suffering he could inflict on Obi-Wan without killing him and, for another, wanted to keep Obi-Wan in a constant state of fear and terror. It wouldn't just be about killing Kenobi, it would be about breaking him until he'll do anything to end the pain and, once he gets to see what he has become, he gets to die.
Except what we got was such a mess that even that wasn't communicated.
Well yeah. He finally finds his old master after ten years dreaming of revenge, and Obi-Wan...runs away and then is completely helpless. There's no satisfaction in it. I genuinely think Vader let him escape in the hopes that Kenobi would find his Jedi mojo again and then put up a real fight.
Great work as always.
"Now the hunt truly, TRULY begins!"
Truly?
I know… it’s like a damn Monty Python movie.
When Disney gives you crap material to work with, you know who the real winner is.... Auralnauts.

The latest episode of Obi-Wan plays perfectly into this series. Vader lets third sister go.
Also let’s Obi Wan and all of his buddies go when he decides not to use the force to bring down a ship LITERALLY 5 SECONDS AFTER DOING JUST THAT TO A BIGGER SHIP
@@roach9397 "Now the hunt TRULY begins."

The writing in this is more cohesive than the actual show.
This is the funniest one you guys have ever done.
Sums up my thoughts so perfectly.
"Ok let's just walk around this small fire and take care of it"
Odd how he doesn’t just blow it out like he did one minute earlier.
Brilliant! I cannot stand it when the big bad just pauses to let the hero get away in things and it was so funny to call it out so on-the-nose. Your work has been magnificent for years and if this is a taste of what Larry will be, I imagine the dance fight to come will be legendary!
Vader wanted to feel satisfied with his revenge on Obi Wan, and if it wasn't going to be dramatic enough, it wasn't satisfying.
I laughed through the whole clip. But that scene with Vader releasing him again and saying, "Now the hunt TRULY Begins".. HAHAHAAHAA! EPIC!
The way Leia reacts to his blunder at 2:33 is hilarious now
A summary of Obi-Wan Kenobi Eps 5:
Vader lets Kenobi slip through his fingers, again...
"And now the hunt truly begins..."
Can't wait for the next episode when the hunt truliest begins!
I love the stormtroopers trolling the shit outta Gordon and Leia.
Honestly, hearing Vader say "let Obi-Wan go, I want to hunt him myself" is more chilling than the original scene with Reva
Troopers are the best. Messing with people. I guess their job is to shoot at people but not hit them. This turns Star Wars on it's head, but at the same time it's exactly what Star Wars has always been.
Honestly the actual Disney show makes a lot more sense now. They should just get Auralnauts to write it.
I can’t wait for the hunt to TRULY begin next season.
I sence a presence, a presence I haven't felt since... A couple months ago

Just when thought the hunt had begun, it truly begins. Later. When it’s better Hunting time.
this really kind of lays bare the diminishing returns of more and more star wars content from Disney
Great job as always. Good blend of real audio with your audio. Obi Wan talking to troopers blended so well. Always like your guys style of dubbing 🙂👍

I heard there is an extended version of this video that was only released on geocites and newgrounds in a compressed format. I truly long to see this version at any cost.
Now the hunt truly begins.
The hunt truly truly really begins once more!
This is honestly a better use of the scenes that in the original show. Absolutely hilarious, can't wait to see more
Is this why he left Third Sister/Grand Inquisitor alive after running her through? So the hunt could TRULY begin?
...Makes sense.
Those storm troopers are so funny. This is top notch material
"See you guys in a bit." So casual, so perfect.
took this video to really appreciate the wear on the stormtrooper uniforms in the Zach Braffmobile
This makes ten times more sense than the official Kennedyfilms product. XD
Hahaha Vader said it in the next episode! He says, “No leave him, he will be ours” 😭
It’s the huntiest
I think the only thing that would have made this funnier is if Vader said the exact same line from ANH every time he meets Obi-wan.
Auralnauts can rewrite the whole show and make it how it should have been. This edit makes the story clearer and better flow.
Darth Vader throws palps down the death star shaft.
Vader: “ now the original trilogy truly begins””
Dang, Vader was hunting Palpatine for YEARS waiting for that moment! He really plays the long game.
You guys are true comedic geniuses. Hilarious.... Hunt's Ketchup
Cannot wait to see what you lads do with the scene where obiwan walks through the chem lab. Whoever is making this show at Disney seems to be somehow equally into providing you with parody-able content as they are into fucking with the original lore of star wars.
This midichlorian batch is mad strong! I think I'm getting a contact high just being in the room!

This is the best, I love this. Well done! Might as well literally make this the official canon. Would probably be an entertaining show if made by Auralnauts.
Please continue this story, episode 5 had so many chances for the hunt to truly begin. :D
This script honestly makes way more sense than the one that is actually in the show...
Omg today's episode fits perfectly with this!!! Once again, the true hunt begins
Brilliant stuff! More fun in seven minutes than in four episodes.
Isnt the show itself a parody already ?
Yall are so underrated. You have uniquely hilarious voices on par with seth mcfarlane, matt groening, mike judge, matt stone and trey parker etc in terms of my ability to enjoy a show where you guys do most of the voices with only a few key roles going to other voice actors. Seriously Auralnauts should be a household name
I'm a 501st legion cosplayer since 2017. I have my Jawa, a Stormtrooper and my imperial officer costumes... I know very well how Imperials behave and this video, Mr Auralnauts, os definitely better than the dialogue in the actual series. Congratulations.
"Now (dramatic pause) the hunt truly begins."
Man you brought my headcanon to life. The only way to watch this star wars stuff nowadays is to have it play out differently in your head.
The transport scene with the troopers was an instant classic 🤣👏
Needles went from racing Marty Mcfly to tracking Jedi.
I love how confident he and his gang are to grab a Jedi master with their bare hands. No problem, great plan.
Jesus. You didn't even have to create a parody on this shitshow, simply repeating those scenes with better comedic timing is good enough.
4:48 "What have you become?"
Totally missed opportunity for Vader to reply "A hide and seek Dominator"
To be fair, “laser tag dominators” is in the Party-verse and this one is in the regular version.
Like Kylo Ren’s outtakes.
This is where Auralnauts excels!! Taking a long, drawn-out and somewhat mediocre story into a short, funny and somehow more sensical take!
I can always count on Auralnauts to make the new Star Wars content enjoyable lol. The only tweak I would have done is repeat the fire scene a second time paha. But yeah, this is everything I've been thinking about this episode. Hope y'all continue to do more great work!
Thanks for the clarification. When I first watched the episode on D+ I couldn't understand what was going on.
Yeah they seem to like making stories kind of sub-par but good enough to be acceptable... D+ indeed.
A successful hunt. Now let us celebrate with a hunt! For tomorrow... we hunt.
You have failed me for the last time Starscream.... AGAIN!
So good. It really does make more sense this way, and it's more satisfying (less frustrating).
"Hunt's Ketchup!" had me rolling
It's a weird thing when the parody makes a hundred times more sense than the actual show. I'd have loved it had they gone down this route.
