@@haidernaqvi87 You know nothing about music composition. Everything may sound reminiscent to anything in music. There are purchased drum loops, melodies, vocals, synths and everything. People even combine these purchased stuff to produce a full song. That's how it goes. And as for Pritam, HE IS AN INSANELY CREATIVE MUSIC COMPOSER AND AN OVERLY UNDERRATED SINGER. Period.

agreed with the music composition part but not with the lyrical part. A wise person always gives credit to the original one he got inspiration from. He got away with that because youtube was not that popular among the people back then.

Let's be real here, I was literally on the same page as you like few years back (before I got into my music production hobby). I was subscribed to channels like BAPAOGIRI, DESIMEGAMIND 2.0 and the likes. Blogs like "milliblog" and "ITWOFS" are pretty good resources where you can research on "PLAGIARISM IN INDIAN MUSIC" (names like R.D Burman, S.D Burman comes with more than 20 listings to their name).
So do you know why these talented artists copy stuff without credit? The answer is pretty simple. It is NOT the ARTISTS but the PRODUCERS (and LABELS). Same goes for commercial "remake songs". No artist (with few exceptions) plagiarizes their creation without any external force on them. This force is created by the Producers and Labels. They simply don't produce any "risky" projects in India (especially Bollywood). The producers either go by TRENDS, REMAKES, OR PLAGIARISED works because these GUARANTEE profit (but adversely affects the artist's public reputation).
Pritam was a struggler then (along with Imtiaz and Amitabh Bhattacharya as per an interview). Same was the case with R.D Burman when he was FORCED to copy a western song by Kishore Kumar (Burman told in an interview).

True. I too remember its scene when Irfan's going to get married and Konkna approaches him just as he's dancing on the horse, she shouts "I'm ready to marry you"... he shouts back "Ohh.... aare... but why r u so late? Ab petticoat blouse to sab uske naap ke ban gaye??..... " and Konkna goes so furious. And we all laugh so much..... Irfan sir, ... you were so good. We miss you so much.....
I cannot reiterate enough. YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS MOVIE.
This movie was awesome, although many people couldn't grasp the concept of it when it came out. Kangana's part was from the movie The Apartment that came out in 1960. That was fantastic as well.
russel crow in this is Pritam Chakraborty music director of the film, and Basu's favorite, he composed for barfi, jagga jasoos, and Ludo too, nd ur favorite ye jawaani hai deewani.

She is breath-takingly beautiful, ask any 90's kid, most of the guys fantasized about her.
It's more a" slice of life, examination of relationships" kind of film than a "chick flick" .... Dealing with the themes of living life on your own terms and for yourself. It was a nice movie and impacted a lot of people when it came out. Definitely worth a watch.

Life in a Metro has an amazing screenplay and also brilliant performances by Shilpa Shetty, Kay Kay Menon, Dharmendra, Nafiza Ali Konkona Sen Sharma, Shiney Anhuja, Irfan Khan and Kangana Ranaut. Simply outstanding.
Its not a rom com. Its a very emotional serious drama. The old guy is Dharmendra..the lead named veeru from Sholay..

This movie is very much like Love Actually. Several stories, connected at the end. All about different kinds of love. Not as good but still good.
You guys in the recent songs are not trying to understand the lyrics and music. The lyrics in this song is soooooo beautiful and there was no appreciation towards it from your side.
That is because the lyrics sound beautiful to us in our language when we hear but the english subs translation are not at par and does not illicit the similar sentiment/feel. They seem more like a google transaltion.

Oh, he is. Such an adorable and unapologetic pervert! Loved him in it but it is hard for me to pick one role of the many flawless performances of Irfan. But The Namesake, The Lunch Box, this, Piku, even Qarib Qarib single are a few of the best ones.

This is a wonderful movie, one of my favorites. But looking at your reactions, I get the feeling that this movie probably isn't for you. In the context of India, and the time it was released, it resonated a lot with a lot of people. It was a time when many people were breaking free of the shakles of tradition, the compulsion driven by tradition to stay in a failed marriage, to give themselves 'permission to love', etc. But from an American perspective, it would probably mean nothing at all.
This is probably one of those movies that changed the face of modern Hindi cinema for me. THIS IS A MUST WATCH is an understatement!

This is much more than a rom com. It's really deep, romantic and a slice of life kind of movie. Yes there is romance and joy and laughter and every emotion we ever experience.

I don't watch a lot of Bollywood movies but this movie was something else. Loved this movie. Watched it years ago. It's definitely NOT a chick flick movie. It's a movie of some normal. ordinary people like billions of us and the interactions between them. It's a movie about love, affairs, friendship, growing old, betrayal, family, compromise etc

Firstly Namestey Mr ric and smart one, this is my first comment, I am an Indian girl I used to see ur reactions on Indian movie and songs. I must say u guys are too decent and sometimes I found touchy too. That's it thank you keep going on. Khus rhe, means be happy always.
Would love to see a review from you guys on this movie. This isn't a typical, so called "chick flick". It delves deeper in to the complexities of human emotions and relationships. It has some solid acting performances, but for me Irrfan was the standout performance in this movie, he was simply brilliant. Also FYI, if you hadn't noticed, the older gentleman in this movie was Dharmendar who played Veeru in the movie Sholay.
