Greetings from Ballarat. Itâs so great to find an Australian (especially Vic based) knitting podcast. Iâve subscribed and look forward to watching more episodes.
Hello! Love having some local knitters around :)
Also not a morning person and I donât think it will ever change. But I too wake up for knitting/yarny adventures.
Loving your Cargill Sarah, the greens are just perfect.
Thanks so much lovely đ„° the things we do for knittingâŠ
Ohhh that's such a good idea to use earrings as stitch markers! I have a lot of pendant ones that I don't wear that much but that I'm not willing to throw away because they're nice, I'll recycle them like this, thanks đ so lovely to see your excitement Paige about the gifted little avocado đ„°
(also: I'm in love with the Cargill sweater, I also do think the sleeves are perfect)
Right?? I love repurposing things like that! A cute stitch marker really does brighten every round, especially when it's a super cute avocado from your bestie đ„č

LOVE sheep

Love sheep! Baaaa!đđđ
Hahahaha still dying
Omggg is it too extra of me to order Bendigo Woollen Mills and get my parents to bring it to me overseas when they visit in November. That'll be PEAK knitting season đ would love it if you could do a round up of BWM yarns that you own/have knit with/garments made with each wool? Not necessarily the trendy ranking system but like, pros/cons/suitable projects? Thank you! â€
Omg so excited for you Paige to have finally bought the yarn winder and swift! I have the exact same ones that I bought in a small yarn store in country vic (cotton and wool craft in Rosedale), and I love the swift, but I have had sooo many troubles with the winder!! It creaks incessantly, to the point where I cannot use it if anyone else is around, even after oiling and sanding and doing everything I can. I hope you have a better experience!
Oh no! ok finger's crossed this isn't an ongoing issue. Stay tuned...
Thank you for sharing! It was such a pleasure to watch!!
Thank you!
This was so fun! I love the slippers! I'm massively intimidated by felting but this makes me think maybe I should give it a try!
Yesss do it! Iâve barely taken them off since making them I love them so much.
I'm doing a dipstitch texture in the Aloe sock (52 weeks of socks v2), I tried it with a crochet hook and couldnt get a hold of it until I found out you don't needle a crochet hook at all - you can easily dip into the bottom stitch using your right hand needle and it made the process more seamless I found. You can see it in action - search "Knit Heart Stitch || Ribbed Stitch 3x2 for Hats, Scarfs & Cowls." by Crazy Hands Knitting & Crochet
I'm so jealous of people who can do it without a crochet hook. I don't need it for the first dip, but cannot manage it for the second half of the dip stitch. I think it's because I knit English style it's harder to catch the loop. I just found the crochet hook helped me control the tension/loopiness of the loop but it definitely took longer.
oh yea you have to be precious on the second dip, theres a lot of fabric - totally makes sense though ha as I do continental knit ^^' thanks for taking time to respond@@twopurlsinapod and hello from Brisbane đ its great to listen to a local podcast!!! Really appreciate it - enjoy your sunday arvi
So enjoy your podcasts and I am itching to make the slipper socks. The Avocado đ„ stitch marker is so cute! I would just bind off the slip over in pattern. If you are worried to bind off too tight, you can use a bigger needle to bind off.
Yeh that was my first instinct, thanks :)
Also, update since we made this: I've been wearing my slipper socks all the time and am 100% obsessed with them.
So many beautiful knits! Thank you for sharing. For your Sille slipover you might consider this method I saw posted in the comments of Andrea Mowryâs latest video: Irina Revo has a CZcams tutorial for an Invisible ribbed sewn bind off for 2x2 rib that doesnât require you to rearrange the stitches. I havenât tried it myself but itâs the best looking 2x2 bind off Iâve seen.
Ooo thanks! Will have a look and give it a go :)
I just cast of a vest with 2x2 rib! Well Loved Knits has a great tutorial
Ooo thanks, will have a look and try it out. Got a few options now :)
That's so funny, I've been searching for the Noro Yarn in the colorway TW01 - found 3 of the 5 skeins I'll need so far.
Good luck on your treasure hunt to find the rest :P
How is the heavy merino by knitting for olive? Is it soft? Does it pill or anything? I would like to use it for a zipper sweater also đ
It's the perfect yarn for zipper sweater. I wouldn't say it's soft but it's not as rustic and hardy as it initially seems. Overall would recommend.
Loving the content gals! And loved the cameos from Jacob đđ€Ł
Also sarah if you need more items to fill out the overseas shipping order Iâm very keen to make some felted slippers! HMU đ
Ok so I ended up doing an order though Etsy cos it was sooo hard to find anywhere that would ship Fritisgarn to Aus. But message me and we can chat further cos I want more but need to find a good source...
Lie-key is how you pronounce Lykke
Thank you!
@@twopurlsinapod although looking it up now, in danish it sounds more like Loo key. So who knows? đ
