Another factor that I didn't hear mentioned here, that is very important to many of us, is the country of origin. 67 designs is designed and made here in the US. Bulletproof doesn't claim where their product is manufactured, which is a dead giveaway that it is overseas. Wether they give some profits to military organizations or not, I prefer my products to be made by a guy named John or Bob or the likes.

Thank you for taking the time to go through this so thoroughly. My husband has a 2020 Gladiator that definitely needs an adventure mount and I wouldn't even know where to start when choosing one. I appreciate this! The phone mount in my LJ is magnetic and the phone just goes flying off when we're offroad 🤣

Great review. Thanks! Bulletproof makes dual ball mounts for both the left & right sides of the top dash pocket, giving you a place for 4 devices. I like the fact that the center section is left open for storage of sunglasses, etc. as somebody else already mentioned. 67D is great too, but I'd loose the center storage area.

Every time I tried to order 67 Designs they were out of stock of the phone holders (March of 2021), so I got the Bulletproof. I did want the rail system for mounting some other items, so I may still order the 67D rail mount with 4 balls and just attach Bulletproof arm and phone holder (tried it on a friend's 67D rail and worked just fine.

Thank you for putting so much time and effort into making this video! It was really helpful and I have ZERO complaints but I do have a suggestion that may have made your video even more useful (for me at least.) You covered a lot of detail about construction, weight, install, price, etc. but you didn't tell me how well you liked the position of either mount as far as being able to use your phone. Is it within easy reach? Of course, I am hands free while driving but let's face it, you might need to touch the screen once in a while right? The bullet proof looked to be within easy reach while the 67 seemed a little farther away from the steering wheel.
Looking forward to viewing more of your videos to see what else you've created!

I went with the bulletpoint mounting system for my JT they had the full width mount with phone and go pro for like 100 bucks plus it has lots of room for more mounting balls and the fit was perfect on the dash looks clean. For the same thing the 67 would be like 200 bucks and not look as clean to me.

Great video! I think that these two mounting solutions are tops, but I am liking the design of the Bulletproof model a little better. And Bulletproof is way ahead in the cost department. As a new customer, Bulletproof gives me a 10% discount today. I too want to add an ipad mount when it is back in stock at Bulletproof. If I want to add more than two devices in the future, I can always get another mount for the passenger side. But then I have no idea what else I would want to add that would clutter my dash area, so it's a moot question for me. Thanks again for the great video.

It's really a matter of your needs combined with taste, and what you are willing to pay...
The 67 is a solid product, giving you the full use of what was once called dash storage space and you can mount multiple thing on ot, making your Jeep look like a spaceship...
The Bulletproof system gives you exactly what you need, where you need it, as you can buy the bare bones minimum single phone holder on the driver's side to the the double ball system (shown here in the vid ) which will get you a phone and a camera mount.... As well, Bulletproof sells one for the right hand side as well...
Me personally, I bought the MAGNETIC phone holder from Bulletproof without the GoPro camera mount. My logic is my phone can record, just like a GoPro can... And putting my phone on a Magnetic mount ( as well as taking it off ) is a much simpler way of life "For me".
EDIT... I believe he said the 67 has a similar non rail mount like the Bulletproof system does, but it was not shown here, and that would have been a "Apples to Apples" comparison....

  • @BlutosBeaters

I wouldn't pay 200 for a phone mount unless it was dipped in gold. Haha. I do like the bulletproof one and if it helps our military brothers and sisters then that is even better. Being new myself to the Jeep community I have never heard of either one but I will definitely look into them now.
Great job on the video, keep it up and stay healthy.

JT Mods Yes, I totally understand the need for the mount too. It would be cool to see the rail system with with a little more weight on it, like an iPad connected at the same time. I bought a another kind and I got what I paid for. It shakes pretty bad even on the highway and that was just with an iPhone hooked up. Did you notice any vibration to either one while driving just down the road?

    • @21SethG
      @21SethG  Před 4 lety +1

Going down the road, they were both solid. Obviously when I took on the speed bumps, they shook a little. LOL!!! As I mentioned, I didn’t have them installed either. I think the iPad will be fine the way I plan to use it, which is pretty much on trails only. It may be fine daily, but not sure. I’m sure plenty of people run them daily. I think with all the additional mounting points, the weight will be ok. I guess we’ll find out at some point! With everything going on, I’m not in a rush to order anything else for the mount. LOL!

I have the 67d mount for my JLU. They are mounted to my Vector Bar. I have had them since early 2019. From day 1 it has been a love/hate relationship. I've never had any issues with my Vector bar. Just getting that out. My issue is with the 67d mount. When I place my cell phone in the holder it will rattle just driving down the street. Very annoying to the point that I take my phone out and place it in the cup holder to make the rattle stop.
Fast forward to present day. It still rattles with a cell phone installed. Now the issue is that the phone will slide out of holder on hot days. The sun light through the windshield heats the adhesive on the anti slide pads and then just falls out. In short I can not recommend 67d due to the annoying rattle.
Currently on the hunt for a better mount. I also have a Ram mount x-grip for a tablet that has issues as well, but that is another review.

I feel like you left out a very important point. Bulletproof now Bulletpoint is literally a straight rip-off of 67 Designs, 67 started 4 years before Bulletpoint. Not only that but Bulletpoint is NOT made in the USA while 67D is fully designed and made in the USA. Makes it a lot easier to charge less when another company's engineers already did the work and you have China make it for you. I know not everyone cares about that but its something everyone choosing should know.
