Oh bless you honey! I used to do cakes as a side business but it's been years lol! My son just asked for a cow cake for his fiance's birthday and I thought, "ohhhh boy"....🤣 This looks manageable (fingers crossed). Thank you so much for sharing. You're very talented and your kitchen is beautiful.
Girllll!!! it is definitely manageable. But you have to clear a whole day for the dang fur ahahah 😂 I wish the video was better for you to be able to learn and enjoy it a little more, but you may get a little spin-off from this one in the near future😉 Tag me in any pictures so I can see it!!!! thank you for the support!🥰
@@CharliAnnsHeavenlyCakes I had to laugh real hard when my Google headphones read my notification last night. I was wearing them because I was still rolling fur at midnight! I had dedicated the day but actually had never made modeling chocolate before and it took me several tries because in south AL, the humidity has a drinking problem and is going through a divorce, it's seriously out of control. 😂
Your video was great! My cake wasn't quite as magnificent but she loved it so it was worth it, but I'm not in a hurry to cake again any time soon. Whew! 😁 Thanks again!
Turned out lovely! That certainly was a lot of work. Way to go!
It WAS a lot of work, but I like how it turned out! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for the tutorial, I will be making this cake for my daughter this week! Absolutely adorable

How much modeling chocolate did you end up using? Looks like they come in 1 lb containers at my local Michaels. I appreciate your help! I hope my cake turns out as cute as yours!!!
I'm wondering the same. I have to make this cake in 4 weeks and have been looking for an answer to this question.
What kind of icing did you use? Can you link recipe please
What brand of modeling chocolate do you use?
Hi, great tutorial. Do you think we can prepare the modeling chocolate strings of fur in advance of will they be too brittle or stiff?
Yes, absolutely! I just like the keep some unmade at hand so that I can shape them however I like when putting them on the cake🫶🏼
Are you using gel colours or oil based colours to colour the mc?
Lovely design ❤️
gel 🥰
Approximately How many little hair pieces did you have to do for the cows hair
Will fondant work as well?
Yes it will. I just did another one last week with fondant, the only thing that makes fondant really challenging is how it dries out. I would have to roll some put it on, roll some, put it on, over and over again so that they didn't dry out and snap before I got it on the cake. But it is absolutely doable!! ❤❤❤
Why are you sticking the roses directly into the cake without wrapping them?
Can I refrigerate this cake once the modeling chocolate is all on?
Yes!!!
@@CharliAnnsHeavenlyCakes Thanks so much! I made a cake like this and it was a lot easier than I thought! Thanks to your tutorial!
Can I make this with a 6in cake?
Absolutely!!! I have done multiple 6 inch ones. As long as it is tall enough you should be set!
Thank you. I'm going to try it.
@Charli Ann's Heavenly Cakes, hi, can you give me the cake recipe you use? Thank you very much
I know this was posted almost a year ago, but I'm going to give my opinion on the video anyway.
The cake looks really cute. I found the video a little hard to watch, though. In this video you were using one really good quality camera and one really bad quality camera, and I think the bad quality camera made it hard to watch, I could barely see what you were doing on it, because it was quite a bit blurrier than the good quality camera was. I think it would've been better to just use the good quality camera for the entire video, and then keep it zoomed in on what you were doing. I personally would've brushed the corn starch off the pieces of "fur" before I put them onto the cake, and I probably would've given the animal ears, but that's just my personal choice. When you were showing the completed cake, you showed it, where you could see the entire cake, for less than two seconds, and I think you should've showed it for longer, because we barely got to see it. It was a really cute, well done cake, though, and you explained what you were doing really well. I think the design of the cake was great, and I also liked that you told us how long things took you, like making the pieces to the fur. So, I think the video taping part could use work, but I think you did really well on other parts, like the design, the decorating, and the explanations, so I still gave the video a 👍
