    They've been working non-stop lately and I'm feeling it is about time to search more about time because no one is doing it like them. Also listen to "YES I AM" on their yt channel for the right lyrics honestly the best song to start knowing Mamamoo.

    • @user-lf9op9dh1l
      @user-lf9op9dh1l Před 4 lety +579

      Totally agree! One thing that kept ringing true in this interview was how three Blackpink members are fluent in English, which makes it so much easier to articulate ideas and have a dynamic conversation. And yet, despite requiring a translator, it was Mamamoo who had real substance in their interview!
      I don't fault the Blackpink girls - they're talented and interesting too. Like you said, it comes down to the free hand Mamamoo has in creating their content, whereas it's quite restricted for Blackpink. So even when they were given the opportunity to speak freely, they had little to say.
      On the upside, this interview reinforced all the reasons I love Mamamoo. To see them being asked genuinely good questions that aren't some rehashed "what's your favourite American food?" "who's your celeb crush?" crap, and to see them mull it over and respond insightfully, made me so happy. I didn't even feel the hour pass.

    • @user-lf9op9dh1l
      @user-lf9op9dh1l Před 4 lety +347

      @@7up139 Of course they talked about their past - it's the one thing their label can't control. But did you notice how Jennie and Rose were floundering for a response when Zach asked them about the songwriting process?
      That's because YG treats them like performative puppets rather than women with ideas and opinions of their own. My comment wasn't putting down one group to praise another - it was addressing the "mistreatment" you mentioned. I literally said "I don't blame the Blackpink girls for this. They're also talented and interesting."
      The comparison was to show how RBW is allowing Mamamoo creative freedom in the making of their music, while YG Entertainment does not afford Blackpink the same privilege. As a multi-stan, you should be ashamed of that, instead of a comment simply pointing it out. Please stop thinking the world is out to bash your faves.

And I would appreciate it even more if someone would put eng sub of what the girls is actually saying 😆 because "interpreting" only give the gist of what the girls said and not every message were succesfully transferred :") the girls have sooo many things to say, and I want everyone to understand how involved they are on every creative process of their song. Still, thank you for the interview and all the good questions, Zach!!!

    They’re the Little Mix of kpop. Slaying left and right. Very talented people. But way too underrated.
    Edit: btw I never meant to say they’re the kpop version of Little Mix. or maybe, should I have said mamamoo are the Little Mix of kpop/korea and vice versa, Little Mix are the mamamoo of the UK(/the west?). While, yes, both groups are vocal queens, their sound is different. They’re their own… entity? However you’d call that. Their own people. Their own group. But they are very similar in other ways, like being way too underrated outside of their home country, despite of being very talented. Both groups deserve more recognition! I hope you get what I meant… also english is not my native language, so maybe that’s why I wasn’t able to express myself clearly.

They are ALL INDIVIDUALLY successful which is very rare in the kpop industry, usually one or two out of the group would have solos but all four of them all contribute musicallu and CREATE their own music and even CHEOROGRAPH their songs. All of their solos have made some record and are acknowledged not only by young people but seniors and adults as well. Not all idols are capable of that, yet mamamoo stands out. This group is not catered to young people but woman of ALL AGES and for a kpop group to be so versitle and be loved by a huge range is something that doesn't happen very often. i just gotta say. Hwasa did so great here for their first international radio show. She knows how to explain well so its easier for the translator to translate. And she lets the translator translate her sentence after sentence so the translator can translate each of her sentence without missing out on any details. moonbyul & solar did great too. See rbw, these girls can do it. They can succeed internationally if only u give them the chance and promote them better internationally

    If MAMAMOO perform at billboard, they will all have gosebumps. I really love many groups but I have special respect for MAMAMOO. Seriously, if they have a collab with a western, it will be a bop. When I first watched their MV, I wasn't too much impressed; I would say that I didn't even like it but then I watched their live and I was in love (if only they had the live version on spootify). I love and support many groups but BTS and MAMAMOO are my besties.

    Moonbyul's voice is so suitable for listening to for long hours, and she's very articulate with her words and thoughts. So glad she became a successful host of her own radio show Studio Moon Night; she got so good at juggling conversations and she's very good at discussing in-depth ideas about her guests' projects/albums as well. I personally think Moonbyul and Hwasa are the most insightful with the way they process their ideas and express them but all four members are truly levels above the typical "shallow" answers you're used to from most idols tbh.

I’ve learned more about mamamoo just from this interview more than any variety show they appear in and get to talk about themselves. He doesn’t let language barrier get in the way. I tried listening to other groups to explore the genre, but I always found myself going back to Mamamoo (as well as each member’s solo stuff). Something about them just hits different and you can’t really explain it describe what makes them different from other groups.
