Test drove a Palisade and Santa Fe. Purchased the Palisade Calligraphy. Much roomier and richer interior .
I don't know why Hyundai made the Santa Fe a 3 row now, but it will definitely cannibalize the Palisade. Maybe Hyundai will redesign the Palisade and make it a full size, since they don't have any vehicle in that category yet.
Yes, Palisade/Telluride will gain space and get more luxury touches. Think more Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer without as much butt end.
The Santa Fe used to be a 3 row anyways
I heard a rumor that they’re changing up the Palisade in 2025, but I could be wrong. So my guess is they’re going to upgrade the size 🤔
As it stands today the only difference in size between the two of them is the Santa Fe is 6 inches shorter and the wheel base is 3 inches narrower
😢Had a Santa fe turbo for several years... multiple issues with the turbo...rebuilt twice...last day of ownership simply blew up... happy to own a 2024 palasde sel premium.

My wife and I went to Hyundai dealership several weeks ago and we sat inside the Sante Fe and almost immediately did not like it at all. The interior fit and finish and interior space just wasn't there. We purchased the Palisade because it just checks all the boxes and is a lot of vehicle for it's price point. The Palisade is simply an amazing vehicle!

Bought a 2024 SF XRT in the dark grey color and love it. And at 42k plus tax only from the dealership the price point is great not having markups. For a family of 6 we fit perfectly. The looks to me are cool in and out but I can see other comments not agreeing to that lol. Palisade in my area were not as cheap as you had shown. Most were 50k plus. Personally though at 6'3" and 200lbs I prefer the SF for leg room even in 3rd row.
Reliability is not a worry to me. Having a good dealership is important. Ask those questions up front about if something happens and get it in writing if its not already. 99.99% of vehicles wont have a transmission issue. Keep up with proper maintenance. Cheers.
I bought the xrt in forest green back in May after seeing my sisters. I had it 2 days and transmission went and won't be ready until Aug 6th at the earliest she has not had any issues with her SEL
Palisade's naturally aspirated V6 will last longer than Santa Fe's twin-turbo-charged 4-cylinder.
I went to dealer to get palisade but after test driving both 5 times the santa fe calligraphy sold me over the palisade calligraphy the new screen nicer interior road better tighter feel no regrets
I would love that santa fe in something like a sarge green and some bronze or copper accents

DCT was the wrong choice for the Santa Fe. One CZcamsr already had a transmission replaced with less than 50 miles on it.
One. Out of how many that are out there? They also said they have had it happen to them before with a luxury brand. Fluke things happen. Plus that DCT transmission has been used in previous Sante Fe model years without having a bad reputation.
This was an isolated case tbh, however still something to watch out for. also they did do a full replacement and the vehicle works like a charm now for full context
The only thing that should RIP is that powertrain 4 cyl turbo and DCCT should have learned with the last santa fe and the sorento.
I sold my santa fe because of turbo engine problems, and replaced by palisade. zero issues with the v6...
Technically the santa fe was supposed to use less fuel, but with real life driving it was using the same amount as a v6.
Thank you for this comparison! I was cross-shopping this two online as I was looking for a car to recommend to my aunt and uncle, now I plan on suggesting the Palisade SEL AWD (without the premium pkg to keep costs down) to them!
I wanted the palacades limited but it was almost 10k more then the Santa Fe so went home w that. I didn’t think I’d like it at all but on the drive home it was actually comfortable. It was a second choice for me but it’s still nicer than the same price range rav4 to me. It does make u feel like you’re sitting high in a large suv. It’s a keeper. It has all these bells and whistles and tho the engine is noisy when accelerating it’s way smoother than my 2022 VW Taos I traded in for this!

You drove the XRT Santa Fe - which is 1.3" higher than the other trim levels, plus it comes with off-road type tires. You're wondering why the beefy tires and seemingly higher ride... You should have known those details.
I mean really different vehicles here. I prefer the v6. I like the look of the new Santa Fe it’s very unique but questions with a turbo and DWC. The Sorento is too small and has strange trim options.
I tested drive both 3 weeks ago. Palisade is much better suv than Santa Fe.
the styling the Santa Fe, but the Palisade still more luxurious. Roomier, better features and actual storage even with the 3rd row up. MPG is a wash, well until the Hybrid Santa Fe comes into play.
Santa Fe have the perfect design I have been waiting for years, since the messy transformers style dominate the market for the last 10 years. Hopefully the new Santa Fe starts a trend to bury for once those crazy irrational lines (see what they made with the new Sequoia so you will understand what I am talking about).
Very odd to say but the Palisade does look dated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sit inside & go for a test drive, you’ll realise that Pallisade is still the much better car. Though Santa Fe has improved also.

Hyundai is an established company and brand and should not be making knock-off vehicles like the new Santa Fe. For the money, the Palisade is the better choice in all respects.
Palisade’s the dull sensible choice, Santa Fe’s the fun but risky choice. Already numerous reports of total transmission failure with the SF’s DCT. Santa Fe is also markedly smaller in person, videos dont do a great job of showing size.

@@BigCO9 I’m in the 2024 Santa Fe owner FB group and multiple people have posted about this issue. So yes the chances are low but it is a reoccurring theme.
I almost bought the Santa Fe but it’s definitely smaller. So I’m a proud Palisade owner as of today.

Palisade still looks much nicer than the crapy-looking new boxy Santa Fe. They clearly messed up the 2024 Santa Fe and the 2023 Santa still looks more modern and elegant.

Santa Fe is hideous! What happened to it?! We have a 2020. A bit underpowered maybe, 4 cyl is a bit noisy under load but MUCH better looking than this new version. Fuel Econ in ours is awesome. Plus, this new one is huge! We like the smaller size of our version.
