I remember taking in a Festival where they gave out "Free" Travelling Kits courtesy of Gillette. This was about Eight Years Ago, I gave it to My Father and he loved it. He's gone but he always got a kick out of The Father's Day Presents that I gave him.
The only Gillette product I will buy is their shaving cream, and that's just because Barbersol is terrible. Everything else from Gillette is too expensive. Even the Walmart eight pack of disposal razors is cheap and they last a lot longer than Gillette safety blades. Those things are so over-priced it's crazy!
Aww, how sweet. I used to make sure that my Father had his "Stuff" in his Kit. IE. Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Shaving Kit etc. It really warmed my heart to see how the Little Boy wanted to buy his Father something.
Gillette doesn't make them any longer and I personally lament the loss. However, there are companies that make nice razors. Above the Tie is an US company that makes stainless steel and aluminum razors from block materials. Expensive yes. Edwin Jaggar of England makes a very nice razor as well and it has a nicer price point. Alas, none capture the nostalgia of the old Gillettes.
Then Gillette reached a whole new generation of Fans with Mad Men where nobody uses Aerosol Cans as much as they used to. It's now owned by Proctor and Gamble who also own Braun. Do they make Kits like these now?
The Gillette adverts used to promote masculinity and make you feel proud to be a man, sadly toxic feminity and political correctness has eroded and killed Gillette's corporate image. Nothing offensive about this advert.

Buy an inexpensive new Wilkinson Sword double edge butterfly open razor for $15. Buy a pack of 100 double edge blades for $5-$10. Problem solved.
