The coolest Dota player who also plays a little chess from time to time
Does he stil play DotA ? I though he stopped to focus on chess
@@leluminent yea he stopped playing not because of chess but he played a game accidentally in SEA server
@@adhi_r dear god, does he need any help? Should we send him some chocolates or something? What is the remedy for this?
It's better if he plays DotA instead😌
@Elu yeah, he *used* to be a big Dota player. He talks about it from time to time on banter blitz.
Hello Yan,
Your English is fantastic. Being able to speak on a subject for an hour with no one to talk with is an impressive feat. I really enjoyed this and have become a huge fan of yours after seeing how you handled the difficult world championship match. Good luck against Ding!
Agreed. It's ironic that I actually become a Nepo fan because of his magnanimous behaviour in the face of great difficulties.
And when the world needed him the most, he came back! 💪
This is definitely gonna be a treat to watch/hear! 😀
I wish you all the best sir for the future! ✌️✌️
I could swear someone r/chess Nepo is an airbender based on Nepo's openings and based on a classification of chess openings based on the 4 elements. Hmmm...
14:34 for the start of the drama
33:36 Hans
Thanks to both of you
Why would anyone skip Ian talking sweetly and awkwardly and giving an endless Prologue?
I do love you so
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, Ian! I really appreciate your deep reflection and well balanced approach on the question whether Hans is cheating or not. I hope you will speak to us again soon 😊
You've gained a massive amount of fans for your incredible play & your humble manners even when losing the WCC.
Best of luck in the future, rooting for you from Sweden!
Hey Ian! Glad to hear your thoughts, hope you’re well! Best of luck for the WC.
it is really great to get to know about how you think about the entire situation. To an insight of a super GM is totally different from others speculations and theories.
Thank you so much Yan, really enjoyed the podcast
Kudos to Ian for doing this - a very frank and honest discussion of the issues, and much appreciated.
Awesome, Nepo. I watched your lives playing chess a two years ago, I really enjoyed seeing the logical and direct way you explained your moves. We look forward to more videos! Good luck on the world title!
Thank you Yan. It is so great to hear from you and I hope that you find time to make this a semi-regular thing. I will be routing for you in the World Champion match with Ding. I believe you will crush it.
One of the most down to earth, respectful humans i've ever watched. Pleased to be here, Just found the channel! love and peace from the UK
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Hope for more of this in the time to come.
As you said, you can’t give a verdict. But it’s great to hear a clear meaning on the matter, and also a very well explained meaning. Best of luck
14:30 General cheating discussion. 33:40 Hans. Cheers Ian, good chats, be careful not to fly too close to the sun!
Thanks!
Thanks bro!
🤔
So sorry for your lost today....But just wanna say that you're an inspiration to all of us and Im sure you will win the next championship ❤💪
Awesome video, Ian! I really appreciate that in the last couple of years after your cementation as a top player you have taken your role as a global "influencer" and become a lot more vocal. And the reason I appreciate that you hvae taken on this role is that you are perhaps the most nuanced and deliberate of all the top players.
In a world where nuance is almost lost we need takes like this!
You take so much reservations and precautions when you speak that you manage to convey your opinions very cleary; never mind your english, you're very eloquent.
Hope this drama resolves without anyone getting hurt..
It is awesome to hear your thoughts and perspective on this sort of stuff, Ian!
It is really good that chess guys start talking about this issue. It's like there was a mute restriction going on. Really appreciate your input.
Thanks for the video and for your two cents on the matter Yan! I hope this Pilot becomes a regular show in the near future.
Very insightful thank you for sharing. I actually didn't know you had a youtube channel but from now on I will be following closely. Keep it up. Love hearing your thoughts and explanations. Congratulations and great job in the candidates as well.
Keep up these videos, Nepo. Always nice to hear top players like you.
Great speech, thank you for doing this. I really wish videos like that will show up once in a while
interesting way of putting it, about classical chess 'not just taking, but giving', really enjoy hearing Nepo talk
57:25 "if you ask me what i think about it right now, it reminds me of the guy who is going to the gym and really enjoys it and wants to speed up the results in some way and thats why he's taking some steroids or whatever"
Thank you so much Yan!
I would like to summarize what I understood as main points causing doubts:
1. It is weird that in a case of a young player we observe a monotous rise of rating.
2. Lies about Online Cheating.
3. Jetlag-influenced wild-card performance in Sinquefield Cup.
So happy to see you doing podcasts on CZcams Yan, your insight is greatly appreciated! Already subscribed and looking forward to your next videos!
Wonderful Ian! I think you can also add time stamps of different topics you discuss. Very nice content.
Ian, Your English is very sophisticated and concise. Please don't think otherwise ❤️
Thanks for sharing your point of view and arguments in this difficult time. The chess world needs your words most frequently. Good Luck for the WC match
Would love to hear more from you in future episodes.
Happy to see You on your channel, best luck!
Nice podcast. Hope you will become World Champion.
he will
@@PivotStickmanAnimations no
i could honestly listen to Ian for hours. Would love to see special guests in future eps!
disagree, he monologues well
Thanks Ian. Your english is fine, by the way. No worries on that.
So great to see you do something like this Ian :) I cant wait to listen to the full thing and I wish you all the best against Ding.
Yan's opinion comes off as serious, as opposed to being in the middle of the drama. I originally thought Fabi's insight on cheating was the best but this video draws to light how both sides of the drama are missing small parts of the bigger picture, as to why cheating does happen, why cheating can affect a player's reputation and why it's very human to suspect someone of cheating. I hope he continues this podcast. I really hope Yan doesn't get drafted to go to war.
Целый час контента, кайф. Красава Ян
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think the more info we have the better off we all will be. Thank you.
Always glad to hear Ian's thoughts on the world of chess!! Good luck in the World Championship match!
Remember the first time I saw Yan do commentary, maybe it was a WC match or candidates? Can’t remember exactly but what I do remember was his brilliance at analysis.
cool man!
continue uploading videos and you will be one of the biggest chess channels
good luck bro😄
The legend is here!!!! always love to hear from Yan
Glad to hear your thoughts Ian .
Loving the format!
Thank you for doing this, Ian, I'm happy with whatever it turns out to be :)
Thanks for sharing your views about this topic and good luck on The WC!
Nepo clearly has done his research and the rating swings from one tournament to another by Hans as explained by Nepo is a great evidence. Minute viewing of all the security cameras where Hans has played OTB over the past 3 years is required now.
Get Joey Ingram on the case
@@Devilfish6666 yeah lol - Mike Postle was absolutely done for once Joey was on the case - he’s like a dog with a bone😀😀😀
Playing better sometimes and worse sometimes is completely normal...the good thing about how he played so many tournaments (like seriously he played a lot) is it creates a larger data set to analyze.
It's no evidence at all. In fact he complains at the end *because* Niemann played worse in Turkey and then better at Sinquefield.
@@davidquinn9676 yea maybe because his mentor was not around lol
Great podcast. Thanks for the excellent perspective. Big fan
Over 50,000 views. Very nice for your debut. Taking advantage of the current situation is very good content. Good luck in the Match and future podcasts.
