Great video about my favorite archetype! I would actually argue that Jenny Barnes better suits for hoarding money rather than spending money. Compared to Preston Fairmont, Jenny generates 3 less resources every round, but has no need to spend an action to transfer the extra money. While Preston can afford 4-resource favor cards every round, Jenny can barely afford for minimum value. However, what Jenny has and Preston doesn't are the extra stats. 2 extra stats everywhere means that Jenny requires 10 less resources to hoard when using well connected. With Lola and/or Dario, even basic investigate action can be a gameplan by itself- feeling less need of money spending events.
I can get on board with this. I think my first thoughts were along the lines of players first encountering Jenny in Dunwich with Streetwise (3) in the box, which certainly pushes you to spend 2-4 resources every turn.
Actually, the last time I played Jenny was the hoarding type with Black Fan and getting resource generation with the Red Clock (I was limiting myself to only EOTE cards). Pretty great without Well Connected, and the +2 stats over Preston was definitely noticeable. Still, I think she can do well either way, but indeed the favor cards have a bit less value if there's an avenue to just pass the tests.
I think Jenny has the clear edge here since Scarlet Keys became available. An "Underworld Market hoarder" with 2 Embazzled Treasures, 2 Thieves Tools (0 or even better 3), 2 Paydays, Fence, Stylish Coat and Scavenging. Not being able to take illicit cards is becoming more of a disadvantage every new campaign. It's hard to hold up for Preston moneywise and the advantages of a huge hoard only go so far in helping with the stat-line.
Another great video! I've been eying big money as an archetype for a while now, but not having TCU means it's probably best to wait for that release until I try it.
Diving into big money bob for my blind Circle Undone playthrough, this video gave me good tips on where to spend my XP.
