If you make a larger pen to hold the chicks and hens with a small stairwell 2m high and then 1x1 checkerboard floor. The larger hens have oddly the size reduction to fit through the 1x1 holes in the floor. The chicks have a larger itemization and never fall through. Then in the area where the hens fall down just put puffer fish on item stands. Full grown hens die, smoke and refueling the fire aren't an issue.
Glad to see that even in something like Valheim, Nilaus finds a way to STAY EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE.
its hard to tell how the chute works. you should show how to build one
For the food you can put a chute so that it always fall on the same place
Literally where i am now lol this is gold!
Thanks! I appreciate your time sir
Such an elegant solution to my farming chicken parts problem. As someone who loves Factorio and Valheim. Thank you!
You should only need the fire when hatching the original eggs for your egg farm.
Based on my own experience (accidentally, to be honest), keeping 3 hens at the same 2x1 cage could generate 2x eggs (compare to 2 hens), while consuming 50% more food ( you got 3 hens to feed instead of 2 ).
I'm finding the sloped Black Marble plinth is better for not getting the eggs stuck on the slope. Tis late game though. HTH
Great design. I built it in my world also. The one with the chicken killer, that one works. But the one with the egg collector I have som problems with. I have tried to use both 45 roofs and even making a slide out of the 45 beams. But the eggs stops in the shoot. I have even tried to change the design, so it's the same as the killing side. where the eggs fall down. And oddly enough the eggs still stops in the short shoot. Any tips for the egg side?
how did you manage to get the fire under the iron grate and not have it go out? the smoke immediately puts it out whenever I try it
Anyone got any ideas why my chickens wont eat? I have tried placing the food in every possible spot in this coop but it just wont happen
Just built this and the eggs don't go down the simple ramp. They get stuck, warm up and hatch for some reason. Still neat design but I will look into a drop rather then a slope.
Good job
even with 45° roofs eggs get stuck on the way and henns stop to lay eggs. How you fixed this?
great, but you forgot to show the slide part. Do the eggs fall through the floorboards or do you remove those?
Can confirm, just put 3 in a 1 by 2 confined space and some food in front, the eggs pop out the back.
@@alexweisbeek5335 I just built this but my eggs are just sitting under the hens, not dropping through the floor, any ideas?
@@RocketIIIman hah, that's been a while. When the chickens are not aligned properly they tend not to drop through until after a few have stacked up. Might also be that it stopped working because of updates. I eventually had made a long tower with a hole in the middle with 9 chickens at the top. It rained eggs.
you can throw 24 days worth of seed in there and they will only eat 1 per day? I've been separating each individual feed every day for animals.. lmao
So if you have more than 12 chickens in an area they will stop laying eggs? or when you have more than 12 eggs in an area the chickens will stop laying eggs?
If the sum of eggs + chicks + hens in the area is 12 or more, they will stop.
@Alron222 From my experimentation, the maximum reliable amount of adult hens in a 10 meter area is 8.
My eggs get stuck on the slide and the chicken dies on the fire but it ends up doing damage to the fire
Does this still work?
Difficult to say. Eggs now appear *below* the chicken, and smoke won't pass through an iron grate, so a fire will go out. But it probably just needs a couple of minor adjustments.
wait, do my own design to sort chickens and hens? thats why i'm watching you, THAT is the challenge. see hen's are bigger, but chickens like to get on TOP of hen's and other chicken so its an incredible pain in the butt to make a farm that only fries hens, THAT is the hard part, not any of this. make me a sorter! :) then make a hare farm :)
Awesome to see that you got it all setup and figured out finally!
