  • I'm the band saw caretaker at the makerspace I belong to, ‪@lowellmakes‬ which means I adjust and clean our two‪@RikonPowerToolsIncBillerica‬bandsaws every couple of weeks to keep them running in tip top shape. Here's the basic process of how we perform our routine maintenance.

I have a 10" Rikon... and I've never done any of that.... maybe I should :)

Well, keep in mind we're a shared shop where there are 50-60 people who might use the tools in a given week. And the big resawing saws get WAY more sap and dust in them than the smaller saws. I only clean our little 9-inch once every 6 weeks or so because it doesn't get much use, and I clean my personal 10-inch about twice a year for the same reason.
But yeah, if you've never cleaned it at all, might be worth giving it a little scrub. And definitely aligning the guide bearings and bars periodically is a good idea.

@@NineRingsWoodCraft Yeah, my 10" doesn't get used too much, but I really do enjoy using it.
