This video is a detailed description of Blue Point Juniper. Blue Point is an upright narrow growing Juniper that grows similar to a Christmas tree. It is a moderate grower to 12 feet in height and 4-5 feet in width at the base. This low maintenance plant has blueish/green foliage year around. Blue Point is drought, disease, deer, and insect resistant.

Hi Jim, I bought two junipers to keep in containers. They did wonderful inside with temp 68 - 72 then I placed them outside with temp 80 - 88, now high 100's, and in a bigger container. They have browned significantly. Not sure if it is the change in weather, the soil, or spider mites (don't see any webs, but seen them in my back yard). I placed two rocks at the bottom of container, soil mixture containing potting mix, perlite, pea moss and sand (from another channel).

Help please!! - I planted 4 Blue Points last early spring for use as privacy. Dug the holes and spaced properly. I do have clay soil but amended soil and fertilizer my nursery told me to use. They are growing beautiful that is until I noticed some of the tips are turning yellow/brown and one of the trees the whole inside is brown. I believe this is blight? - I have not seen any spider mites or their webs. I even did the white paper test with a magnifier. I'm not sure how to care for them. I know if nothing is done, they will die or are already dying. Can you give me some suggestions, please? They are so beautiful. Thank you -

I am considering getting a blue juniper for my balcony. However it gets only morning sunlight and a bit during sunset, so would say 30% sun and not every day during winter months. Also it does rain now and then so would you say it could handle rain? Because in the video is said that doesn't like wet space at all. Also from you experience, does it shed anything at all? just need to consider this as need something that doesn't shed at all due to another flat balcony below mine.

Had vinyl snow fence around the whole thing last winter and they chewed through my fence about a dozen places. They chewed 3 up about 2 feet right down to the trunk. Had to replace this spring. We were gone for the winter and a friend kept patching the holes with poultry wire and sprayed Liquid Fence but did no good. Next winter it will be 3 or 4 foot poultry wire around the whole thing.

Thanks so much for all your information, I wish I had seen this about 16 years ago when I planted mine. It has grown very well into a 12 feet tree but the last few years the lower branches started to brown more and more towards the top it almost brown 2/3 of the tree. I planted it in a southeast facing corner of a the house on a small hill with clay soil It's also a spot where the rain comes down through a gutter pipe. I am not sure if it got too much water or not enough because it's usually a more dry spot facing south east. I am wondering if I could rescue it digging around the roots an fill with composure and pine mulch for the clay issue and also star cutting out a few seemingly dead branches in between fit more air.... thanks for any ideas on that matter!

I am considering getting a blue juniper for my balcony. However it gets only morning sunlight and a bit during sunset. Also it does rain now and then so would you say it could handle rain? Because in the video is said that doesn't like wet space at all. Also from you experience, does it shed anything at all? just need to consider this as need something that doesn't shed at all due to another flat balcony below mine.

    Informative & to the point.
What do you suggest for a mountain side clay backyard that gets 1/4th day sun that can withstand -20*F (zone 5)? Thnx
I was thinking either Juniper (might not be best based on you vid info) or Arborvitae, heard Arborvitae is poisonous (I have deer and dont want to hurt them) 😞

When these are growing and reach maturity can they be shaped into a box hedge? I need something that will be 10 feet, tall, deer resistant, and only 3 feet wide due to a property line; and also not take forever to grow.

Hope I didn't jacked up. Just planted 6 gold point juniper three weeks ago beside the house (at foundation). Got it from pikes nursery and it didn't have instructions with it so I assumed just dig, plant, water and watch it grow. Anyway, I did not untangles the roots. I added woodchip around it all the way up to the trunk. I water almost everyday since planted. I have not add any fertilizer as yet. I did mix the soil with cow manure. I am in trouble here? What would you recommend from here?

I got 5 from Lowes a few months back. Maybe it was too hot or something. I live in the Dallas area. Within 2 months, they were ALL DEAD. I want to get more, but I NEED to know what went wrong and why they all failed immediately. Because it was so hot, maybe I over-watered them, but it was roughly every other day. After a month, I learned that I should have untangled the roots, so I did. A month later, all 5 were dry and brown.

I'm also in the Dallas area and had a significant issue with spider mites last year, we have 5 that are forming a decorative barrier to an outside living space. True Green was able to get spider mites under control, hopefully, this growing season they'll thrive again. They are due for pruning so that's my challenge now.

I have planted this plant maybe 10 " out from a column by front porch. It has not really thrived but isnt dying. But your directions indicate I may have put it in the wrong location. It does not get full sun but partial sun. And I have it near plants that need water. I've not elevated it. So my question for you is, should I move this tree to another location where it gets full sun. This one is shaded by a big shumard oak part of the day. If I transplant it could you give directions to do this without destroying the root system in a way that compromises its health. Thank you. My juniper is kind of a dull bluish green.
