There are many versions of Paisiello's famous aria "Nel cor più non mi sento" for various instrumental categories.
In the double bass repertoire, some important authors such as the great Giovanni Bottesini have used famous opera arias to create virtuosuo pieces that highlight the technical and musical qualities of the soloist.
Domenico Dragonetti wrote this theme with variations for the double bass in line with the important technical contribution he had given to the double bass, he who in a special way loved to write variations on various themes, even of popular origin. Dragonetti's completely recognizable character is also present in this short but difficult piece where the long bowings that link many notes and the various bow strokes, require a solid instrumental school.

Della famosa aria di Paisiello "Nel cor più non mi sento" esistono molte versioni per varie tipologie strumentali. Nel repertorio del contrabbasso alcuni importanti autori come il grande Giovanni Bottesini hanno utilizzato le arie d'opera famose per creare pezzi virtuosistici tali da mettere in luce le qualità tecniche e musicali del solista.
Domenico Dragonetti scrisse questo tema con variazioni per il contrabbasso in linea con l'importante contributo tecnico che aveva dato al contrabbasso, lui che in modo speciale amava scrivere variazioni su vari temi, anche di origine popolare. Il carattere del tutto riconoscibile di Dragonetti è presente anche in questo breve ma difficile pezzo dove le lunghe arcate che legano moltissime note e i vari colpi d'arco richiedono una solida scuola strumentale.
